Chapter 1604 1604: Border of the Primal Lands
Chapter 1604 1604: Border of the Primal Lands
It all started with Vaarh, moved on to Goen and Liliane with the fifth team, but the ending was not at all what Alexia had expected.
"W-What…?" Her lips trembled, and a chill ran down her spine as she couldn't comprehend what had happened. "He actually kidnapped ADAM?!"
Goen trusted Ramilo, he believed in his strength, and that's why he knew that nothing bad would happen to Adam and Alexia.
But with Zargos's arrival, the situation changed.
"SHIT!"
Alexia slammed her fist into the ground with all her might, causing the earthworm to flinch.
"Why didn't you keep fighting?" Alexia looked at Ramilo in anger. "Aren't you very strong? You should have used your abilities and beaten that arrogant bastard!"
Everything Alexia said was true, but Ramilo was not going to apologize. Moreover, there was no defeat or panic on his face.
He sat cross-legged, scratching the back of his head and yawning widely:
"Mhhhaaa! Don't worry about it. Adam will be fine, at least better than here."
"Agh? What the hell are you talking about?!" Alexia growled, but Ramilo didn't react. He remained calm as if nothing terrible had happened.
Tap. Tap. Tap.
He patted the seat next to him.
"Here, sit down. In a few minutes, you'll understand everything. It will be a surprise for me too, but that's life."
Alexia was ready to argue with him further, but Louis calmed her down. As much as she wanted to run after Zargos to save Adam, it was impossible. She didn't know where Zargos had gone, and even if she did, she wouldn't be able to catch up with him, let alone defeat him.
Ramilo could do it, Alexia knew that. If he used his abilities, the situation would change.
Still, Ramilo did nothing, he just waited while the earthworm continued its forward movement.
Crack. Crack. Crack.
Pieces of rock flew off to the sides as the tunnel abruptly turned into a huge cave. This was the border of the Primal Lands, the earthly one.
At this point, several tunnels met, from where travelers could go on to different parts of the Dead Lands, be it a random spire, some territory, or even the Citadel.
Below lay a vast expanse covered with rare shining crystals and cold streams of water flowing nearby.
There was enough space here for several earthworms to move at the same time and go into different tunnels.
Usually, there was no one here. When an earthworm reached this place, it immediately moved on, but now, for some reason, the earthworm stopped.
The reason became clear immediately — five monsters stood in front of the main tunnel that was the exit of the Primal Lands, leading straight to the Dead Lands.
Alexia was confused, but when one of the monsters glanced at her, a chill ran down her spine.
Fear enveloped her, and even something as simple as breathing now seemed very difficult.
Tap.
Ramilo touched Alexia's shoulder as the flow of his aura, like a refreshing breeze, allowed her to breathe a sigh of relief.
"Calm down, everything is fine. I won't let them hurt you." Ramilo reassured Alexia, who still didn't understand what was happening.
Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.
With a rumble, the earthworm turned around, stopping in front of the five monsters. The earthworm knew that until it left the passage, it would not be able to move forward.
"Who... Who are they?" Alexia asked cautiously, looking at the monster squad.
In the middle, slightly ahead, stood a man with thick black hair like a lion's mane and a gloomy expression. His muscular arms covered in tattoos were crossed over his chest, and even when calm, his aura exerted a powerful pressure on everything around him.
The appearance of the other monsters also made it clear that they were far above the level of simple Lords, let alone the Black Threat Monsters. But what frightened Alexia was something else entirely.
"They... Their auras are much stronger than that girl's and her entire team's." Alexia gulped, while horror began to form in her eyes.
Strangely enough, Ramilo's face only became more relaxed. For some reason, he wasn't worried.
"Hey, what a surprise!" Ramilo waved his hand, attracting the monsters' attention, although they had been looking at him from the very beginning.
Step.
The man stepped forward, narrowing his eyes.
"My name is Morok, though I think you've heard of me, Ramilo. After all, you're a member of the Old Light."
Ramilo smiled.
"Of course. There aren't many strong warriors in this world. I remember all of them, though... I wouldn't say you're one of them."
Morok didn't react. Unlike Zargos, he was an icy wall that seemed devoid of emotion.
But soon, everything changed.
"Boss, I don't see him here," the woman standing to his right noted. Her eyes scanned the cave, staring intently at the earthworm, Ramilo, and Alexia.
The other three nodded in agreement.
"Yes. Where is he?"
Morok stared at Ramilo, noticing the burns on his body.
"Where is Adam Vinter? He went with you to the Citadel via this path, didn't he?"
Alexia's eyes widened as she realized, for some reason, these monsters were here.
"Yeah, but, as you can see." Ramilo pointed to his wounds. "The Befallen Crown aren't the only ones who consider Adam Vinter valuable."
"What?"
Morok narrowed his eyes.
"Are you saying that someone attacked you and kidnapped Adam Vinter?" A frown covered his face. "You think I'm going to believe that?!"
In response, Ramilo shrugged.
"I'm just telling you what happened. I promised Goen that I would take these two to their home. Do you have any idea how ashamed I am right now for losing Adam Vinter?"
Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.
Morok's aura grew stronger. Even if someone had actually attacked Ramilo, he didn't believe there was anyone here who could defeat him so easily in a 1-on-1 fight.
"So... What do you suggest I do, Ramilo?"
Ramilo rested his chin on his hand.
"Well, you could try to find whoever kidnapped Adam Vinter and get him back. If they sent you, then it must be very important. What about her and me..."
Ramilo pointed at Alexia.
"We're moving on. I have to keep my word to Goen, or..."
A sinister aura emanated from Ramilo.
"You can test what this old cat is capable of."
