Endless Debt
Chapter 1594 - 104: Tombstone_2
Then the Regent King’s choices are obvious. Rather than fulfilling his arrogant heart by enforcing a one-on-one duel with his opponent, it’s more likely he positioned himself as an extraordinary tool to better bring about the resurgence of the Night Race.
"So, does this mean the so-called Regent King might suddenly descend with a group of elite forces and catch us off guard?"
From the corner of the group, Serey said leisurely while sitting on a chair, "Oh, that would be quite troublesome."
Stretching his body, Serey stood up and walked in front of everyone, his scarlet gaze swept over each face.
"Everyone, since the plan is now complete, let’s not dwell on this messy stuff," Serey encouraged the group, "It’s time for us to act, right? Action!"
Bologue furrowed his brows; he was still somewhat unaccustomed to this proactive Serey, a side he had never seen before.
"Each to their own duties."
Serey glanced at Holt and Fuen, then repeated to Bologue, "Each to their own duties."
After speaking, Serey picked up the Key of the Crooked Path, inserted it into the side door of the room. The metal key easily glided into the lock’s core, twisting the key, after a crisp metal clinking, Serey forcefully pulled open a realm of darkness.
"Speaking of which, everyone, after a busy night, don’t you need some sleep?"
Serey didn’t step into the door directly but instead turned back, inquiring Bologue and the others.
Since Serey’s arrival late at night, Bologue and the others had begun tense planning and preparation work, only near dawn were they fully ready. No one slept much, but their eyes showed no hints of fatigue, only vibrant energy.
Serey raised his brows; he seemed full of anticipation for the world behind the door, "Speaking of which, we can rest for a while there."
"Oh, right, hold on a moment."
Serey took out a bottle of sunscreen from his pocket and started applying it in front of the few people, his face becoming slick and shiny.
Under his comical performance, the group, previously filled with killing intent, gradually grew puzzled. Serey noticed their gazes and even offered the sunscreen, "Would you like some? The sunshine there is quite harsh."
Bologue shook his head. He wanted to ask what the purpose of Serey’s sunscreen was. Was he planning to sunbathe? A member of the Night Race sunbathing, what kind of dark humor is this?
Forget it, it’s better not to ask.
Others might feel Serey is as usual, with his carefree attitude, but Bologue sensed something was off; beneath Serey’s calm demeanor, he could faintly sense something like catching a familiar scent or seeing a similar silhouette.
But that’s all there was to it, just like how Aimou felt there was something amiss with Bologue but couldn’t pinpoint it, Bologue also felt Serey harbored some hidden issues, but it was merely an impression.
"Well then, I’m off."
Serey drew a black umbrella from beneath his hem like performing magic, opened it in one go, covering himself, and turned to merge into the darkness.
Bologue and the others exchanged glances, fell silent, and the group split into two, with Bologue, Palmer, Aimou, and Hinda following Serey into the Curved Path Gate.
"Wait a moment, who are you?"
Hinda suddenly noticed that there was one more person in the infiltration team.
Upon hearing Hinda’s exclamation, the others turned their heads, all wearing expressions of shock; it seemed the person had been standing there for a long time, but only at this moment did they notice his existence.
"Me? Haven’t we met before?"
Church sighed helplessly, extended his hand, and reintroduced himself, "Hello, I’m Church."
Palmer casually remarked, "It’s okay, he has low presence, ignore him."
Bologue paid no attention to the chaos behind him, Wei’Er jumped onto his shoulder, treating Bologue as a moving tool, rubbing against the softness on his shoulder, Bologue took a deep breath and entered the darkness. After a strange sensation of twisting and inversion, the darkness dissipated.
Immense warmth swallowed Bologue.
As if being stared at by blazing sunlight, penetrating warmth drove away all coldness from Bologue’s body; he felt himself stepping on soft sand, with the comforting sound of waves coming to meet him.
Bologue blinked hard, his vision gradually restored, encountering bright sunshine and azure skies, an ocean of blue close at hand, transparent and spotless.
"Where is this?"
Bologue was dazed; he was prepared for a bloody battle, yet passing through the Curved Path Gate led him to a... a seaside resort?
"Hey! Bologue!"
A voice called out from the side, as Serey emerged from a nearby hut, holding a tray brimming with ice-cold drinks.
For a moment, Bologue forgot his original purpose for coming; around the same time, the others also emerged from the Curved Path Gate, their reactions similar to Bologue’s, eyes filled with confusion.
Serey excitedly waved to them.
"Welcome to Eternal Sun Island!"
...
"You ask me where this is? Didn’t I just say it’s Eternal Sun Island."
"Of course, it’s just boasting; it doesn’t truly have eternal sunshine. It’s just that the annual sunshine duration is abundant, and the nights are relatively short."
"During my travels with Aisha, I did find an almost eternal sunshine place located in the Land of the Far North, even more desolate than the Mountain Ridge. According to residents there, nearly half the year is absolute daylight. For us of the Night Race, it’s practically Hell."
