Endless Debt
Chapter 1590 - 101: On Blade and Sword_3
Regarding the essence of Serey, Wei’Er guessed quite correctly. Serey is a madman, but his madness is restrained by a heavy cowardice, rarely seen by others. But when that madness breaks free, it will be a hysterical breakdown.
Rage reaches its limit, and then it disappears.
Serey’s eyes became clear; he patted Sai Zong’s arm, signaling Sai Zong to release him.
Sai Zong released Serey in confusion. In just an instant, Serey was like a different person. The rage was gone, replaced by absolute sternness.
Serey forcefully combed his scattered golden hair and then tidied his disheveled nightwear. He stood upright, no longer looking like a bedraggled vagabond, but a prepared Night Race Lord.
"I’m ready."
Serey calmly looked at Sai Zong. "So, what do you need me to do for you?"
"No, I will solve my problems myself," Sai Zong replied. "But rather, what do you need, Serey?"
Serey took a deep breath and silently clenched his fists.
"I need an Immortal Armor capable of keeping up with the times, and if necessary, an army... a war capable of destroying the Land of Eternal Night."
He questioned, "Can you do it?"
"Do it? Are you questioning an incarnation of rage?"
Sai Zong laughed heartily. He liked the current Serey, not that previous cowardly facade that was truly infuriating, especially considering Sai Zong’s own bad temper.
"Serey, this is a sanctuary!"
Sai Zong spread his arms and declared loudly, "But at the same time! This is also an unending arena, a Heroic Spirit Hall! The undying warriors will drink, make merry, and hone their skills here, awaiting the arrival of the apocalypse!"
Amidst the rumbling of thunder, the Undying Club began a dramatic transformation. Just as Serey had seen by chance, bloodied red sand seeped through the floor’s crevices, the narrow space continuously expanding. In the infinitely extending corridor, doors that were tightly shut burst open, and the long-slumbering undead awoke one by one.
Sai Zong no longer hid his power. Beneath the dry and cracked skin, flames burned more intensely as he stepped forward, cheering loudly.
"Everyone! The time to pay the price has come!"
Rows of weapon racks rose from beneath the red sand, ancient, magnificent, deadly, heavy, filled with swords, spears, swords, halberds, bows, daggers, crossbows, lances—all weapons used in human history, fully displayed before everyone’s eyes, silently speaking of that bloody history.
Just as Serey was in a daze, the clashing sound of metal rang out. Even before Sai Zong awakened the others, there had already been a group of awakened undead. They hammered away at the broken armor in the forge, planting new Alchemy Matrixes within it.
Even though layers of firelight separated them, Serey recognized the armor at first glance. It was his armor, the Immortal Armor that was supposed to shatter and vanish in the river of history.
"You... you never sought peace," Serey looked at Sai Zong in disbelief. "You have been secretly preparing an army all along."
"No, Serey, you’ve got it backwards," Sai Zong shook his head disdainfully. "I never believed peace could be achieved through evasion. On the contrary, only through sword and blade can true serenity be attained."
Sai Zong placed a hand on Serey’s shoulder, his tone solemn. "To me, eternal peace is within reach."
