Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife
Chapter 1501 - 1542: Kneel
Mr. May smiled softly and picked up Mireille Yowell, "Alright, Mireille, don’t cry." His slender fingers seemed to brush off the grass and dust from Mireille Yowell’s pink dress inadvertently, but his gaze turned to Mrs. Lee who was sitting beside him, "Clover, how do you suggest we resolve the children’s earlier tussle?"
But Mrs. Lee seemed lost in her own world, ignoring Mr. May’s question.
Mr. May was not surprised; she spoke little when she wasn’t having her episodes, and it was only during those episodes that she talked the most, allowing him to converse with her to his heart’s content.
But at those times, she often mistook him for someone else, leaving him deeply frustrated yet helpless.
"Since our Mireille is upset, then..." Mr. May’s words were interrupted by Amelia Foster suddenly kneeling before him with a thud.
"Sir, it’s all my fault. I didn’t watch the children properly, letting them upset the young miss. I’ll... I’ll have them apologize to the young miss," Amelia Foster said repeatedly, fearing that a single word from Mr. May might send her and her two children out of the May residence. "Come on... you two... kneel down!"
Amelia Foster desperately tugged at her two children, trying to make them kneel with her.
If they were indeed driven out of the May residence, the hard-won stability of their lives would turn turbulent once more. Moreover, she hoped for her son to continue his studies and to save money for her daughter’s medical treatment.
At this moment, Clarence Xenos was already kneeling, pulled down by Amelia Foster, while Nuan Nuan stood there in a daze, her dark eyes blankly staring at Mrs. Lee, refusing to kneel no matter how much Amelia Foster tugged.
Amelia Foster grew anxious, "Nuan Nuan, kneel down!"
The little one seemed to regain her senses, her eyes filled with confusion and defiance, "Nuan Nuan doesn’t like kneeling." She simply didn’t like it and refused to kneel.
"What are you saying, child! When your mother tells you to kneel, you kneel," Amelia Foster scolded, fearing her daughter’s behavior and words would anger Mr. May even more, while her hands pressed down on her daughter’s shoulders, trying to forcibly make her kneel.
The little one felt the force distinctly, but unusually resisted stubbornly, uncharacteristically disobedient.
Just as Amelia Foster was about to apply more force, a hand suddenly clasped hers, pulling her hand away from the little one, "No one insisted that you must kneel, so why force her?"
Amelia Foster was startled; the one speaking was none other than Jeremiah May. At this moment, there was a hint of coldness on the slightly childish handsome face of the young man, a chill that made Amelia Foster shiver involuntarily.
Eren Jeremiah had left briefly, and upon returning to the main hall, he hadn’t expected to witness such a scene.
In truth, he could have chosen to ignore the situation, but when he saw the little one standing rigidly upright, unwilling to kneel, with a rare stubbornness on her dazed face, while those around merely observed like bystanders, he instinctively stepped forward to intervene.
Even he couldn’t fully comprehend why. Did he not want this dazed little one forced to do something she disliked?
