Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife

Chapter 1482 - 1523: No Hugs

  • Next Chapter

Jeremiah May pursed his lips slightly, looking at the little one in his arms. To be honest, he himself was startled by the scar on her forehead earlier. It wasn’t the horror of the scar, but the fact that he hadn’t expected her to have such scars.

From this scar, he could almost imagine the force her head must have suffered—it surely wasn’t light.

Is that why she’s slow?

But unexpectedly, the little one, who hadn’t made a single sound when she was about to fall to the ground, began to struggle fiercely once he held her, as if trying to break free from his embrace. This was completely different from the previous two times when she desperately wanted to cling to him.

Yet strangely, he actually held her even tighter.

Seeing that she couldn’t break free, the little one started to whine, "Nanny doesn’t want hugs...don’t...Nanny wants to be with Mom, brother is here...don’t hug..." Her voice was choked with sobs, and her dark, almond-shaped eyes glistened with tears, even her little face was flushed red, clearly showing that she was genuinely anxious.

Jeremiah May furrowed his brows, utterly confused by what the little one was up to.

David Walker chimed in from the side, "Jeremiah, look at yourself, you scared the little girl. Quickly put the child down—you think this is our school, where all the schoolgirls adore you." Speaking of which, it was unreasonable; David Walker considered himself not bad-looking, but the girls at school all fell for Jeremiah May and took turns sending him love letters. However, those love letters were either refused by Jeremiah in person or tossed directly into the garbage whenever stuffed into his drawer or locker. David Walker found it such a pity.

If those love letters were given to him, he’d definitely treasure them!

Jeremiah May didn’t pay any attention to David Walker’s words at all, but instead lowered his head to look at the little one in his arms, "Why don’t you want to be hugged? Weren’t you always wanting me to hold you before?" It was unreasonable; he was actually being serious with a slow child.

But the little one was still sobbing, "Don’t hug... Nanny will be good, Nanny will listen, don’t leave..." Her struggles grew even fiercer, almost making Jeremiah May feel that she was hard to hold.

Jeremiah May furrowed his brow even deeper and said to the little one, "Say it clearly!"

But the little one kept repeating those same words. Meanwhile, Clarence Xenos hurriedly helped explain for his sister, "Master, my sister is afraid of making you angry. Because previously when she tried to hug you, she made you upset. Mom has instructed her not to hug you anymore, or she might anger you, and then we would be thrown out."

Facing Jeremiah May’s gaze, Clarence Xenos managed to finish his explanation with difficulty.

Jeremiah May was slightly taken aback and after a moment said, "I’m not angry."

Both Clarence Xenos and David Walker were surprised, then heard Jeremiah May continue, "You won’t be thrown out either. Moreover, right now it’s me holding you, not you holding me, so it doesn’t conflict with your mom’s instructions."

This latter half was directed at the little one in his arms.

The little one listened, somewhat understanding, and then turned her head to look at her brother. Upon seeing him nod his head, she stopped struggling.
