Dungeon of Niflheim
Chapter 1029: Agar’s distress
Chapter 1029: Chapter 1029: Agar’s distress
"Daki we need to stop, something’s wrong with Frost." Said Maya, a frown quickly appearing across her brow.
She and Daki were still enjoying one another’s company and were eagerly awaiting Frost to join them in their fun, but apparently such hopes wouldn’t be realised.
"Huh, what’s wrong?" Daki questioned with an adorable pout, her hands stopping their shenanigans against Maya’s soft and sensitive melons.
"I don’t know but he’s emitting bloodlust and not a small amount either." Though reluctant to end their pleasure she couldn’t simply ignore Frost in his current state. "Get dressed." She firmly ordered after placing a kiss on Daki’s prominent lips.
"Tsk fine." Displeased by the end of their festivities Daki loudly clicked her tongue and loosed an exaggerated moan as she pried herself from the snack that was Maya and did as ordered, covering her bodacious figure with a large bath towel.
Their forms obscured somewhat the two sister lovers left the confines of the secondary bathroom to check on their man.
Meanwhile in the private space’s living room Frost had jumped to his feet in an aggressive and violent manner, his whole body poised and tensed for a battle to the death.
The organisation known as the Church of Light was an enemy to all, Dungeon cores included so obviously he was a little rattled when the words left Agar’s mouth.
How could his younger brother end up drawing the ire of those horrifying bastards that made even their father spit in disgust.
"Explain Agar! What did you do?" He loudly demanded, a red hue marring his face.
"It’s not like I ask to be attacked Frost!" Agar who’d been under great duress took immediate offence to Frost’s accusation that leaned towards this situation somehow being his fault. "I’ve never crossed paths with their ilk yet out of nowhere they just declared a rite of purification against me." I.e. the Church of Light deemed Agar and his Dungeon as a plague, a cursed land than needed to be purified through holy light, a judgement they were prone to making in the past when their influence reached beyond the central continent.
"Sorry Agar I didn’t mean to accuse you just .... Well you know the stories, the horrors and the nightmares associated with them, even Father labels them as dangerous."
"You think I don’t know that Frost. I’m the one currently being attacked by them. My home mercilessly under siege." Having little chance to vent his pain Agar quickly lashed out, practically screaming at Frost who he initially called for help, but Frost didn’t hold it against him rather he allowed him to vent for a minute, something he desperately needed.
Maya appeared with Daki by her side near the end of Agar’s rant. She still didn’t understand what was going on but seeing the expression on Frost’s face she knew it was serious.
"Frost." She gently called to him, anxious about the bloodlust that not only continued to linger in the air but continued to grow more and more prominent the longer Agar spoke.
"Sorry but can you handle things here I really need to help Agar." Replied Frost, meeting her gaze for but a moment before teleporting to the Dungeon’s training space, somewhere he could be alone and not worry about his bloodlust leaking.
"Is it just me or did he look a bit demonic?" Asked Daki a few seconds after Frost left. The scowl on his brow and the thick stench of blood surrounding him gave her the shivers. The coldness she felt down her back almost rivalled the chill from their earlier bath.
"Something’s definitely happened, hopefully he’ll tell us later but for now we should look after the kids and make sure no one enters the training space until he returns."
"I’ll let Findley and Khuno know." Daki moved to contact the Dungeon’s management while Maya entered the master bathroom where Nanna and Loki were still enjoying a hot shower but this time in their own separate cubicles.
Within the Dungeon’s training space.
"Alright Agar explain everything, how did this all start and what exactly do you need from me?" After letting his younger brother vent his pain Frost demanded every detail.
"Haaaaa it was sudden and without much warning. One day I heard news that the Church of Light were making moves in response to something which of course made me wary, afraid to even leave my Dungeon for a period, but what I didn’t know at the time was that that something was in fact us, Dungeons and a certain three in particular, myself, Yami and Hadeok."
"What! You’re not the only one being attacked." Frost was once again shocked by Agar’s revelations.
"No we’re all currently under siege but unlike Hadeok and myself Yami has the strength to fight back. His powers aren’t weakened like mine, he can still kill the enemy whereas my monsters can’t even leave so much as a scratch, Hadeok’s no different. He mainly relies on demons and shadow monsters which are no better in the face of their light based magic."
Frost was not the first sibling Agar called when the Church of Light suddenly appeared on his doorstep and ’convinced’ the nearby powers to allow their rite of purification. The moment he discovered his powerless situation, when he saw his monsters even those with fairly decent strength slaughtered like cattle Agar called upon the mountain that held up the sky here on the central continent, their eldest brother Yami.
Yami was the strongest Dungeon core in existence by a wide margin, even eclipsing Aqua who reigned as a Queen beneath the oceans. Yet despite his cold outward appearance Yami took it upon himself to look out for the Dungeon cores who called the Central continent home, often offering advice when needed and serving as a font of support and inspiration.
If anyone could advise him on his current plight and perhaps even send aid it’d be Yami alas when Agar called his eldest brother the news he received was anything but good.
"The moment things turned dark I immediately called Yami but unfortunately he was suffering from the exact same situation, perhaps to an even greater degree as his Dungeon is even more infamously renowned than mine. It wasn’t much later when we discovered Hadeok was also under attack. Three Dungeon cores all under siege by the same organisation at the same time." Just remembering the moment that realisation hit sent a fierce shiver down Agar’s spine. He had never felt so terrified than he did in that moment.
"....we were silent for a good few minutes as the shock rattled our minds but eventually Yami snapped us out of it."
" ’Call Father’ he said before wishing us luck." Yami couldn’t spare the time to aid his younger brothers when his own doorstep was under attack.
"And....what did our father say?" By this point Frost had come to understand the true direness of his brother’s situation and that the conversation he had with their father likely pointed him in his direction for some reason.
Frost didn’t have too much DP on hand; he could lend Agar some if need be but if what he just heard was true it wouldn’t matter how much DP he lent him as Agar’s monsters were powerless against those from the Church of Light. The Church was literally his antithesis, additional undead would be no different from additional eggs being thrown at a rock wall...completely pointless.
"He was angry, furious even, he cursed the Church of Light over and over but in the end sighed because according to the accords with Lord Light and the other Gods he’s forbidden from intervening...mortal problems need to be handled by mortal hands as he put it."
’What use is having a super powerful father if he can’t use that power to protect his loved ones.’ Frost understood the reasoning behind the accords and even agreed with it to a degree, but when a member of his family was suddenly facing danger that logical standpoint was thrown out the window.
"So what? He’s just going to watch as you, Hadeok and possibly even Yami fall to the Church of Light!"
"Yes and no my son." Suddenly a third voice and holographic screen entered the call between brothers.
"Father are you really..."
"Calm down Frost." Dark was quick to take a stern tone, forcing Frost to swallow his complaints until after he finished explaining himself.
"You are well aware of the accords, and the shackles we Gods bind ourselves with as well as the reason why so it does not matter how loud you squeal or how much it pains me to remain as an observer, an observer I must remain." Frost had learned much from Shivali and from his time in the Realm of Niflheim, more so than his brother Agar so Dark appealed to his distress with cold hard logic.
He could not personally interfere, so it was pointless to demand it...but that did not mean he was completely powerless.
"...." He knew his father was right but that didn’t make the situation any easier to accept.
"What are you suggesting then?" Frost eventually asked after a few deep and strained breaths. His father wouldn’t send Agar his way nor would he intrude on their call just for the sake of it.
