Dungeon Miner Slave

DMS Chapter 225

Elemendora and Arementil, at least, weren’t bothering Flinx during their walk since both elven children had become iPad kids even though their tablets were Android tablets, with their attention concentrated on their tablets. They spent most of their time playing the games Flinx had installed on them.

Because Flinx had found a CD containing the APKs of some of the more famous Android games, he was able to install dozens of games on the two elven children’s tablets.

It had even reached the point where the two had to set up the generator Flinx had purchased from his System Shopping Site inside the cart that was being pulled by the Phantom Steed in the shape of a donkey. That allowed them to continuously use their tablets throughout the journey.

Whenever Pip told Flinx that a traveler was approaching, he would simply cast Minor Illusion to make the two elves appear human. He would even increase their apparent number so that anyone who saw them would think that three human teenagers were riding in the cart pulled by a donkey.

Once the travelers were far enough away, Flinx would dispel the Minor Illusion.

Because there were many villages and even a large town in the area they were currently traveling through, Flinx was a little annoyed that his peaceful, solitary journey was being disrupted.

One consolation was that travelers using the road were still relatively uncommon. Only two or three travelers, usually farmers, merchants, or patrol guards, passed them each day.

Flinx’s second meeting with Dr. Mendez had arrived. He told the two elven children that he would need a few hours to meet with a friend, so they would have to stay in the cabin again for a few hours that day.

The two elves simply shrugged and returned to playing games on their Android tablets, which made Flinx’s mouth twitch.

He might have made a mistake by turning the elves into modern-day human teenagers obsessed with gadgets. At least they didn’t have social media to poison their minds.

He wondered what would happen to the two elves when the time came for them to part ways and they had to give up their tablets.

Once Flinx had set up his log cabin inside the forest, away from the road, he fetched Dr. Mendez from Earth after making sure that he had firmly memorized the location.

When he reached Earth, he saw that Dr. Mendez was already waiting for him.

Flinx dispelled the invisibility spell covering him, took the doctor's hand, which surprised the man, and immediately returned to the forest where he had set up his log cabin.

The moment they arrived in the second world, Pip informed Flinx that a troll had wandered nearby from deep inside the forest.

He could have asked Pip and the wind elemental to destroy the troll before it got anywhere near them, but Flinx thought it would be best if the doctor could see one of the monsters that inhabited this world.

“Dr. Mendez, my familiar informed me that a troll has entered the vicinity. Do you want to see it before we start our session?”

Flinx saw that the psychiatrist became excited at the thought of seeing one of the legendary monsters. They traveled for a few minutes before the two of them saw the lumbering troll.

Dr. Mendez paled when he saw the monster. Flinx had to admit that the troll was fearsome to look at. It was huge and extremely dirty. They could even smell it despite still being some distance away.

“Are you going to kill it?” Dr. Mendez asked.

“No. My familiar and my wind elemental will deal with it.”

“I want to watch,” the man said.

They stayed to watch as Pip and Flinx’s wind elemental destroyed the troll.

Afterward, the wind elemental dug the mana stone out of the troll and handed it to Flinx, who was surprised to discover that it was a medium-level mana stone. He handed the stone to Dr. Mendez and told him its value.

When the doctor asked if he could keep it, Flinx said that he could as long as he gave him a discount on the treatment he was receiving.

Dr. Mendez gaped at him until Flinx told him that it was a joke.

They returned to the log cabin, and for the next couple of hours, their session consisted of Flinx telling Dr. Mendez about everything he had experienced while he was a dungeon-miner slave.

After their session, Flinx brought Dr. Mendez back to Earth. Since he felt mentally exhausted from the session, he told the two elves that they would remain in the forest for the rest of the day.

Talking to the doctor about his past experiences felt like reopening old wounds. It made him realize that even with all the time that had passed since he had been a dungeon-miner slave, he was still very much broken.

He hoped that once this part of the sessions was over and Dr. Mendez began helping him heal through mental exercises, he would finally start to feel the effects of the therapy.

Flinx chatted with the others on Earth and told them about his doubts regarding the effectiveness of the sessions.

Paul advised him to continue since their problems couldn’t be solved instantly. All of them would need a long time to heal from the trauma they had experienced.

After chatting with his friends on Earth, he contacted Olivia, David, and the other three children. He was glad to learn that they were all doing fine.

During the rest of the day, Flinx immersed himself in his books and movies to take his mind off retelling his past experiences to Dr. Mendez.

The next day, Flinx resumed his journey.

When they approached a town whose name they didn’t even know, Flinx suddenly heard Elemendora and Arementil shouting at him. The cart was only a few meters behind him, so he reached it in no time.

“What is it?”

“The caravan there! The carriages and the flag have the symbol of my relatives’ house!” Elemendora told Flinx.

“Do you want to check them out? We can remain under the cover of my illusion spell, so we can probably get close to them without them knowing who you are,” Flinx told the two elven children.

Elemendora nodded, so Flinx dispelled the Phantom Steed and stored the cart and all the technology the elves were using in his fourth tab space.

The moment they approached the gates of the town where the caravan was parked, Flinx saw an extremely beautiful elven woman standing beside one of the most gorgeous caravans he had ever seen.

“It’s my aunt! Please dispel the spell covering us,” Elemendora said.

After Flinx dispelled the illusion spell disguising Elemendora and Arementil, the two ran toward the elven woman.

“Aunt Imanoria! It’s us, Elemendora and Arementil!” Elemendora shouted, while Arementil simply shouted, “Aunt!” repeatedly.

At first, two powerful-looking elven men moved forward to block the two elven children as they ran toward the beautiful elven woman. However, the woman suddenly pushed her guards aside and ran toward the two children.

“Al! El! I found you!” the elven woman cried as she fiercely hugged the two children the moment she reached them.

Flinx stopped walking when he got near them. He didn’t want to cause any trouble by moving closer. He simply wanted to make sure that nothing happened to the two elven children who had become his charges over the past couple of weeks.

Some of the elven guards approached the woman and the two children and surrounded them, making sure they were protected.

Almost all of the elven guards were looking suspiciously at Flinx.
