Chapter 1113:- Next Sect
Chapter 1113: Chapter 1113:- Next Sect
Elder Ken sat on the grand chair that had once belonged to their previous Sect Leader. The chair itself was made from gold and silver, with countless beautiful engravings carved across its surface. A specially made cushion rested on it, filled with the incredibly soft feathers of a rare magical animal. It was designed to provide the greatest comfort possible, and anyone sitting on it would normally feel completely relaxed.
However, despite sitting on such a luxurious and comfortable chair, Elder Ken did not feel comfortable at all.
Instead, he looked restless.
His fingers tapped lightly against the armrest from time to time, while his brows remained tightly furrowed. There was a clear look of agitation on his face, as though countless thoughts were racing through his mind at the same time.
More than anything else, he looked deeply troubled. The position of Sect Leader that so many people dreamed of obtaining no longer brought him any joy. Instead, it felt like an enormous burden that had suddenly fallen onto his shoulders.
The reason for his current state was the shocking news that had reached him just ten minutes ago. The Harrington Faction had launched an attack on the Night Rider Sect only three or four hours before Victor’s official Sect Leader ceremony was supposed to begin. What was even more unbelievable was that the entire battle had lasted for less than twenty minutes.
Yet within those short twenty minutes, one of the strongest cultivation sects in the world had been completely destroyed.
According to the reports sent back by his spies, every single Elder of the Night Rider Sect had lost their cultivation. The very pillars that had protected the sect for countless years had all been defeated and crippled. Without them, the Night Rider Sect had completely lost the ability to defend itself.
The person who suffered the most miserable fate was the newly appointed Sect Leader, Victor.
According to the information gathered by his spies, both of Victor’s arms had been cut off during the battle. His cultivation had also been completely destroyed, turning him into an ordinary cripple. As if that was not enough, he had been publicly humiliated by Aditya in front of his own students before the entire sect fell. The more Elder Ken thought about the report, the heavier the pressure in his heart became.
More than half of the Night Rider Sect’s students had died because of a deadly poison attack. From the reports that had reached him, it was clear that the poison had been mixed into the students’ breakfast. Even a ten-year-old child could tell that something like this was not a coincidence. It was an extremely well-coordinated and carefully planned operation from beginning to end.
To poison the food of thousands of students without anyone noticing, the enemy first had to infiltrate the kitchens where the chefs prepared the meals. They had to find a way to poison every batch of food while avoiding the eyes of the kitchen staff and the sect’s guards. Such a thing could never have been accomplished without detailed planning, accurate intelligence, and people already working from inside the sect.
What troubled Elder Ken the most was the amount of preparation that must have gone into this operation. It had only been a few days since the attack on Axel City. Yet within such a short period of time, the opposing faction had managed to gather intelligence, prepare an incredibly detailed plan, infiltrate one of the strongest cultivation sects in the world, and destroy it in less than twenty minutes.
The more Elder Ken thought about it, the heavier his heart became. It was not simply the destruction of the Night Rider Sect that worried him. It was the terrifying planning ability of the people behind the attack. If they were capable of doing something like this to the Night Rider Sect, then there was no guarantee that the same thing could not happen to another cultivation sect in the future.
That thought alone deeply troubled Elder Ken.
Now, Elder Ken was afraid that the Harrington Faction would target the Chimera Shadow Sect next. The reason for this fear was obvious. Their former Sect Leader, Renji, had personally participated in the attack on Axel City. Now that the Harrington Faction had begun taking revenge against everyone involved, there was every reason to believe that the Chimera Shadow Sect could become their next target.
As the Grand Elder who had recently taken over as the Sect Leader, the pressure on Elder Ken’s shoulders was enormous. The Night Rider Sect had possessed five 7th-order cultivators, including Victor, a Peak 7th-order powerhouse. Even with that level of strength, they had still been destroyed in a carefully planned surprise attack, and every one of those powerful cultivators had lost their cultivation.
Compared to the Night Rider Sect, the Chimera Shadow Sect was in a much weaker position.
Other than their former Sect Leader, Renji, the sect did not have a single 7th-order cultivator. Renji had already died, leaving the entire sect without anyone capable of standing against a true 7th-order powerhouse. If the Harrington Faction really decided to launch an attack against them next, Elder Ken could not imagine how they would defend themselves.
That was what frightened him the most. The Night Rider Sect had fallen despite having overwhelming strength. If even they could not survive, then what chance did the Chimera Shadow Sect have?
The attack on the Night Rider Sect might have come as a surprise, but there was one thing that no one could deny anymore. Somehow, the Harrington Faction had managed to bring several extremely powerful 7th-order cultivators under its command. That alone was enough to make every major power on the continent rethink their view of the Harrington Faction.
Elder Ken knew that even if the Harrington Faction attacked them without any complicated planning or carefully coordinated operation, the Chimera Shadow Sect still would not stand a chance. They simply did not possess the strength needed to stop so many powerful 7th-order cultivators. Against such overwhelming force, any resistance they offered would only delay the inevitable.
In Elder Ken’s estimation, the chances of successfully defending the entire sect were less than five percent. Even that number was being extremely generous. Deep in his heart, he knew the real chances were probably much lower. After witnessing what had happened to the Night Rider Sect, he no longer had any confidence that the Chimera Shadow Sect could survive a similar attack.
Historically, the Chimera Shadow Sect had always been nothing more than a mid-level cultivation sect. They had never been among the strongest forces on the Main Continent. The main reason no one had dared to provoke them for so many years was because they had strategically allied themselves with the Celestial Dragon Empire. That alliance had acted as a shield and protected the sect from its enemies.
But now, Elder Ken was beginning to wonder whether that very alliance had become the greatest danger facing the Chimera Shadow Sect. In reality everything was there for Leader fault.

Scene Change
The Chimera Shadow Sect was located on a beautiful island in the middle of a massive lake. The island itself was enormous, roughly the size of a large city capable of supporting a population of two to three million people. However, compared to the island, the lake surrounding it was even more impressive. It was the second-largest lake on the entire Main Continent, stretching so far that the opposite shore could barely be seen from many places.
Because of this unique geographical location, reaching the island where the sect was built was far more difficult than attacking an ordinary cultivation sect. Anyone who wanted to invade first had to cross the massive lake, making it easy for the defenders to notice approaching enemies long before they reached the island. For intruders, this natural barrier alone was already a major obstacle.
Fortunately, Aditya had already prepared for this problem. A few million platinum coins were more than enough to solve it. By bribing people who held lower-ranking positions within the sect, his group was able to quietly overcome the biggest obstacle without attracting attention. Sometimes, money could accomplish things that even overwhelming strength could not.
The girls did not join this attack. Instead, after finishing the remaining tasks at the Night Rider Sect, they decided to return to Axel City. There was still a lot of work that needed to be done there, and Aditya felt that their presence would be far more useful in the city than on the battlefield.
Before leaving, Aditya gave Athena another important responsibility. He asked her to take the few hundred newly created Dragonians back to Axel City with her. Since they had only recently joined his side, they first needed a safe place to stay until proper arrangements could be made.
For the time being, Aditya instructed Athena to let them stay in the residential areas where the empire’s soldiers normally lived or trained. It was only a temporary arrangement. Once Aditya returned to Axel City, he and his uncle would sit down together and make a proper plan regarding the Dragonians’ long-term accommodation, training, and everything else that would be needed for them in the future.
