Chapter 345: Yes, I was told to stay with Lord Kael all the time.
“You need to become more confident, learn from your sisters.
Look, you are hiding behind Terra again.”
Lavinia, who was sitting in her house, glanced at the green little one hiding behind Terra, and spoke like a gentle teacher teaching a weak student.
“Myu…”
Bloom, the Nature Spirit, let out a low voice.
“Hmm.”
Seeing her acting like this, Terra, the Earth Spirit, stepped in front of Bloom and faced Lavinia, protecting her sister.
The sight was absolutely adorable, it was honestly enough for Lavinia to be weak and let it go, but she quickly steeled herself and—
“How long do you think you can keep protecting her?”
She questioned as she glanced at Terra.
“Hmm!!”
Terra snorted, and Lavinia’s expression changed.
“What do you mean ’forever’!? You know, you are half the reason she is like this.”
She scolded.
“…hm.”
Terra lowered her head as she glanced at Bloom. The little Nature Spirit held Terra’s clothes tightly, and Terra just turned around, hugging her tightly while she side-eyed Lavinia like she was the villain in the entire situation.
“You…”
The Princess was speechless.
Looking at the two little spirits, she almost started second-guessing her choices.
Was she really the villain here?
But soon—
“Gruu!!”
Aqua, the gentle Water Spirit, flew next to her, appearing right in front of her face and patting her nose, as if trying to cheer her up.
And she wasn’t alone.
“Krrii!!”
“Briii!!”
Pyra, the Fire Spirit, and Sylphy, the Wind Spirit, appeared as well, cheering her up. The rest of the Spirits surrounded her as well, cheering her up. Even Bloom, who was hiding behind Terra all this while, slowly walked forward and patted Lavinia’s leg. Terra stood behind her as well, nodding at Lavinia as if saying she ’forgives’ her.
It was as if Lavinia’s sad expression was a trigger for them to come together and lift her mood.
Which was true. The Spirits loved Lavinia too much to see her sad. It was the same from the very beginning, just that before, they couldn’t do anything since Lavinia couldn’t see them. But now it was different.
They were now truly with her.
Lavinia smiled, her heart felt at ease as she saw their expressions, but then…
“He is late.”
She muttered softly.
And as if on cue—
“Kyyaa!”
Suddenly, Lavinia’s eyes fell on Sparkle, the Lightning Spirit, who just returned to the room. The Lightning Spirit knew why Lavinia was actually sad, so before anyone else, she went outside, looking for Kael.
Since he could see her, she planned to bring him back as fast as she could but…
“What is it?”
Lavinia frowned when she saw Sparkle’s expression.
“Kyaa!!”
Sparkle exclaimed, pointing towards the gate with an urgent expression on her face.
“Do you want me to go out?”
Lavinia questioned, and the Lightning Spirit nodded continuously. Lavinia’s frown deepened. She didn’t understand why, but since she wanted her to, she stood up, walked out of the door and there—
She saw them.
Kael standing together with some girl she didn’t know and… they seemed to be laughing together…?
In that instant, Lavinia did not know what happened. Her body moved on its own as she quickly closed the distance between them and—
“Who is she?”
She questioned in a sharp, suspicious voice.
Kael, hearing her voice, turned towards her.
“Oh? Lavinia, why are you out? It’s cold.”
He spoke as he wrapped his coat around her.
“You aren’t wearing your coat either, just what are you thinking?”
He questioned, looking at her with a frown.
Seeing him act like that, Lavinia momentarily calmed down. She then side-eyed the woman he was standing with and then—
She hugged Kael, her eyes still not leaving that woman.
It was almost as if she was trying to say something.
Alrisa blinked in surprise. It wasn’t just her—even Kael was taken aback by her sudden action. After a slight pause because of his surprise, he quickly hugged her back as if it was the most natural thing to do and—
“Is everything alright?”
He questioned in a worried voice.
He knew most of Imperia’s Ants were busy in the West. Because of this, their information network here had weakened severely. Imperia had told him that she wouldn’t be able to tell him about anything unless it was happening around him, where half of the remaining ants were.
However, the other half were still around Lavinia, making sure Kael knew she was alright at all times.
This was why he was so confused.
Why was Lavinia acting like this?
Did something happen and the Ants missed it?
“You are late.”
Lavinia answered as she raised her head and looked at him, and Kael—
“…huh?”
He just blinked in disbelief.
“You came out because I was late?”
He questioned, and as he did, Lavinia, who had somewhat come to her senses, nodded as she finally stepped back.
“Yes, this place is still unfamiliar. So I was worried since you didn’t return.”
“Oh.”
Kael nodded in realization. Unlike him, who knew he would get reports the instant something happened, Lavinia was different.
It is obvious she would be worried if he didn’t return. After all, they had only been here for 2 days.
“I apologize, I should have rushed back quicker.”
He answered in a low tone.
“It’s alright. Just make sure you head right back after you are done instead of talking to people you don’t know.”
Lavinia nodded back, once again side-eyeing the woman who was standing beside Kael.
“I am not someone he does not know.”
Suddenly, Alrisa spoke up.
The woman did not like how she was being completely ignored here. She didn’t know why, but Lavinia’s side eyes annoyed her even further.
“Hmm?”
Hearing her words, Lavinia tilted her head. She then turned back towards Kael and,
“Who is she?”
She asked the question again.
“She is Alrisa Velmourn. The Matriarch made her my Assigned Liaison. She used to work under the High Chronicler and was called the Keeper of Records. She knows almost everything there is to know about the town.
You can say she is here to help me familiarize myself with the Town.”
Kael introduced lightly.
Alrisa stepped forward and—
“Yes, I was told to stay with Lord Kael all the time.”
She spoke with a smirk. For some reason, she felt like it was important to add this detail.
And Lavinia…
She did not like this additional detail at all.
“All the time…?”
