Douluo: Seven Treasure Pagoda? I'm Actually a Summoner!
Chapter 269: Arrival at Sea God Island
Chapter 269: Chapter 269: Arrival at Sea God Island
A few days later.
Spirit City, Nine Treasures Glazed Tile Sect.
Jiang Bai stood in the plaza, gazing up at the sky.
The azure heavens were washed clean and utterly cloudless—truly perfect weather for a journey.
Behind him, three figures approached in succession.
Jiang Li’er was still clad in her signature golden battle attire; her long golden hair was tied high atop her head, and her crimson eyes sparkled with excitement.
She skipped over joyfully and threw her arms around Jiang Bai’s arm. "Jiang Bai, Jiang Bai! Are we really going to find the Sea God?"
Jiang Bai smiled gently. "We are going to find Sea God Island, not the Sea God himself."
Jiang Li’er tilted her head. "Is there a difference?"
"Sea God Island is the place where the Sea God’s faith and legacy are preserved in the mortal realm. The Sea God’s true form resides in the Divine Realm."
Jiang Bai explained, "If we go there, the most we can hope to see is the Sea God’s High Priest."
Jiang Li’er nodded, appearing only half-comprehending. "Well, as long as we get to go out and have some fun, that’s all that matters!"
Shui Bing’er walked a short distance behind them, clad in a flowing, water-blue gown with her long hair cascading down her back—a vision of captivating beauty.
Her face bore a mixture of anticipation and nervousness.
Sea God Island... the Divine Trials... She was truly about to undergo a divine test.
It all felt just like a dream.
Ye Lingling walked by her side, still wearing her customary long black dress and black veil.
Her footsteps were light and silent, moving with the grace of a soundless cat.
Yet, her eyes, too, held a hint of curiosity; Sea God Island—what kind of place could it possibly be?
The four of them came to a halt.
Jiang Bai raised his right hand, and the Nine Treasures Glazed Tile Pagoda materialized in his palm.
A radiant glow shimmered across the tower’s surface, and a beam of multicolored light shot forth from it, landing upon the ground.
As the light dissipated, a colossal figure appeared before their eyes.
The Rainbow Dragon.
Its entire body shimmered with a shifting spectrum of seven colors, each individual scale gleaming as brilliantly as a gemstone.
Its massive wings spread wide, vast enough to blot out the sky, refracting the sunlight into a mesmerizing, dreamlike halo.
The dragon lowered its head, its pair of draconic eyes gazing gently at Jiang Bai as it awaited his command. Jiang Li’er was the first to leap aboard, settling onto the Rainbow Dragon’s back. She patted the scales beneath her: "So soft! Even softer than the last time I rode it!"
The Rainbow Dragon let out a low growl—a sound that seemed to express its displeasure at being treated like a mere cushion.
Shui Bing’er and Ye Lingling exchanged glances before successively leaping onto the dragon’s back as well.
Jiang Bai was the last to board; he took his stance atop the dragon’s head, standing with his hands clasped behind his back.
"Let’s go."
With a powerful beat of its wings, the Rainbow Dragon soared into the sky.
Below them, the Nine Treasures Glazed Tile Sect grew smaller and smaller, gradually shrinking into a mere speck of black. Spirit City unfolded before their eyes—its streets laid out like a chessboard, its buildings like chess pieces—the entire metropolis laid bare beneath their gaze.
Then, the city, too, began to shrink.
The land stretched out beneath their feet—mountains, rivers, towns, and villages—resembling a colossal map spread across the earth.
Shui Bing’er sat beside Jiang Li’er, the wind whipping her long hair back behind her. She closed her eyes, feeling the high-altitude breeze brush against her cheeks, and a sense of freedom unlike any she had ever known welled up within her heart.
Ye Lingling sat at the very rear, gazing silently into the distance. The wind lifted a corner of her black veil, revealing her fair, delicate chin.
The Rainbow Dragon flew with incredible speed.
In less than half a day, they had already flown across the entire territory of the former Heaven Dou Empire and entered the domain of the Western Sea.
Gradually, the land beneath them gave way to a vast expanse of azure blue.
It was the sea.
An boundless, infinite ocean, shimmering with dancing ripples under the sunlight. The sea’s surface resembled a colossal sapphire, stretching all the way to the horizon where it merged seamlessly with the sky.
Jiang Li’er, seeing the ocean for the very first time, practically threw herself flat against the dragon’s back, her eyes wide with wonder: "Wow! Is this the sea? It’s huge! Even bigger than the Star Dou Great Forest!"
Shui Bing’er, too, gazed out at the ocean, a complex mix of indescribable emotions stirring within her heart.
She had grown up in Heaven Dou City—a place of lakes and rivers, but utterly devoid of the sea. She had never before witnessed such a vast expanse of water, nor had she ever felt the presence of something so truly boundless. Ye Lingling remained silent, yet her gaze, too, settled upon the sea below, lingering there for a long time without wavering.
The Rainbow Dragon continued its flight westward.
Islands began to appear with increasing frequency across the ocean surface. Some were as small as mere reefs, while even the larger ones spanned no more than a few hundred square meters. They were devoid of human life, inhabited only by nesting seabirds.
...
Sea God Island.
Within the Sea God Temple, Bo Saixi stood before the divine statue, motionless for a long while.
Clutched in her hand was the scepter. Within the blue gem crowning the scepter, internal waves surged and churned, as if mirroring the turbulent emotions within her own heart.
Tang Chen...
She silently whispered the name in her heart.
The man who had once stood shoulder to shoulder with her—so spirited and full of youthful vigor. The man who had once made a solemn vow: that he would return once he had attained godhood.
He left.
And he never returned.
Now, even the Clear Sky Sect itself was gone.
Was he... still alive?
Bo Saixi closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
Then, she opened her eyes again; the tranquility had returned to her gaze.
Regardless of whether he still lived or not, she had to protect Sea God Island. This was the mission bestowed upon her by the Lord Sea God—her sacred duty.
She turned and began walking toward the temple entrance.
Just then, a figure strode rapidly into the temple from outside.
Sea Dragon Douluo.
He dropped to one knee and spoke respectfully, "High Priestess, we have detected uninvited guests. They are approaching from the skies, flying directly toward Sea God Island."
Bo Saixi’s brows furrowed slightly. "From the skies? Who are they?"
Sea Dragon shook his head. "The distance is too great; I cannot make them out clearly. However, their flying mount... is a dragon. A multicolored dragon."
A flicker of astonishment crossed Bo Saixi’s eyes.
A multicolored dragon? A Rainbow Dragon?
"Issue the command: have Sea Horse, Sea Spear, and Sea Star Douluo prepare themselves. If the visitors prove hostile, kill them on sight." Her voice was calm, yet it carried an indisputable, commanding authority.
Sea Dragon nodded. "Understood!"
He turned and departed.
Bo Saixi stepped out of the temple and stood atop the mountain peak, gazing out at the distant sky. The sea breeze swept past, causing her crimson robes to snap and flutter in the wind.
She was determined to see just who it was that had arrived.
...
Aboard the Rainbow Dragon.
Jiang Bai had already spotted the island in the distance, shrouded in a thick veil of mist.
Sea God Island.
It stood silently upon the ocean’s surface, resembling a slumbering behemoth.
The island’s peaks towered into the clouds, their slopes blanketed in lush vegetation, with various structures faintly visible amidst the greenery.
The central island—the "Island within the Sea"—was enveloped in a faint golden aura, appearing both sacred and majestic.
"We’re here," Jiang Bai murmured softly.
Shui Bing’er rose to her feet and walked to his side; gazing out at the island, her heart began to race.
Sea God Island... she had truly arrived.
The Rainbow Dragon slowed its pace and began a gentle descent.
At that very moment, several figures shot skyward from the direction of Sea God Island, soaring straight toward them.
There were five figures in total; each exuded an aura of immense power and composure—the weakest among them was at least a Title Douluo.
Leading the group was a burly man standing over two meters tall, his torso bare.
He possessed broad shoulders and back muscles as hard as granite; his medium-length, deep-blue hair fell just past his shoulders in natural curls.
Etched across his solid, muscular back was a tattoo of a massive blue dragon.
Sea Dragon Douluo.
Flanking him on either side were four companions: Sea Horse Douluo, Sea Spear Douluo, Sea Star Douluo, and Sea Illusion Douluo—each radiating an extraordinary presence.
The five figures halted a hundred meters in front of the Rainbow Dragon, hovering motionless in mid-air.
Sea Dragon Douluo’s gaze fell upon the Rainbow Dragon, and his pupils contracted ever so slightly.
What a massive dragon... and what an incredibly powerful aura...
Suppressing the shock rising within him, he shifted his gaze to the white-clad youth standing atop the dragon’s head.
"Who goes there? Sea God Island is a forbidden sanctuary; outsiders are strictly forbidden from trespassing!"
His voice boomed like distant thunder, reverberating across the ocean’s surface.
Jiang Bai met his gaze, his expression calm and composed.
"The Nine Treasures Glazed Tile Sect—Jiang Bai. I have come to pay a visit to Sea God Island."
