Chapter 911: Chapter 905: Whitney Lynch Is Dead 4
Grandma Liu came to the iron gate out front and pointed at the sofa, saying, "It was right there that she was bitten by the dog."
"Dog?"
Grandma Liu nodded, recalling the scene and feeling it was quite tragic: "When your sister’s hired caretaker went out for groceries, Whitney Lynch came out from the house to get some fresh air and sat on this sofa to sunbathe."
As Grandma Liu spoke, she took a few breaths, seeming very tired, then continued, "Suddenly, a rabid dog rushed out and bit her, it was very serious. Before she could be taken to the hospital, she was already gone, and Whitney’s sister gave her a simple burial."
Tiana Thorne looked at the sofa’s edge, her gaze deepening slightly.
"Hmm, I understand, Grandma Liu, thank you."
"You’re welcome, child."
Felix Grant then wheeled Tiana Thorne out of the apartment building.
Her heart was heavy, always having a bad premonition swirling inside.
Whitney Lynch died so suddenly, it was too unexpected.
She had only lost her arms, but she wasn’t a paralyzed person; she could have lived miserably, but lived a lifetime. Never thought she would just die like this.
Behind her were Grandma Liu’s mumbling words.
"The Linton family bore such a daughter, it’s a curse, too many bad deeds done, and this is their retribution."
Tiana Thorne leaned back in her wheelchair; concerning Whitney Lynch, almost everyone in the neighborhood probably knew by now.
At this moment, she once again felt Georgia Thorne’s heartlessness, even downright cold-bloodedness.
The caretaker was secretly hired by her. She certainly knew the news that her mother was already dead, yet never showed up, and didn’t even tell her father.
Having finally rid of this unbearable mother, must feel really comforting, right?
A gust of cold wind passed, and she couldn’t help but shiver.
Looking sideways, she saw a pet dog curled up sleeping by an old man’s feet on a bench by the roadside.
Dogs are forever dogs; people, not always people.
"Miss, should we head to the art exhibition next?"
Tiana Thorne nodded, "Hmm, let’s go."
On the way back to the art exhibition, she told her dad about Whitney Lynch’s death.
Over the phone, he stayed silent.
Tiana Thorne knew, Whitney had been his wife for over twenty years, even if she broke his heart and they divorced, it was impossible to feel completely indifferent at this moment.
"Dad..."
"Tiana, you don’t have to comfort me; the Ford family spared her life, and now the heavens took it back. With all the bad deeds done, such an end isn’t surprising."
Sean Thorne’s voice was somewhat hoarse; he wasn’t grieving for Whitney Lynch but lamenting life.
Why not live well?
Committing so many evils, even in death, brings no honor.
"Dad, as long as you can find peace in this."
Sean Thorne, having lived more than half his life and experienced so much in such a short period, was gradually learning to let go within: "The person is gone, and from now on, no more thoughts."
"Hmm."
He added, "By the way, don’t mention this to your sister; after all, that was her biological mother. I fear she might not be able to handle it."
Listening to his anxious tone, Tiana Thorne could only feel the universal heartache parents endure.
Perhaps everything was orchestrated by Georgia Thorne, you never know.
But Georgia Thorne was the only close family left to her father in this world. She didn’t want to disappoint him and concealed what she had heard in the neighborhood.
Lips pressed: "Dad, she’ll find out sooner or later."
"Let it be later then."
Tiana Thorne nodded, "Hmm."
After hanging up the call, Tiana Thorne gazed out the window, eyebrows lightly furrowed, restless at heart.
For some reason, she suddenly recalled Mom saying before, adopting Miranda Dalton because Aunt said Miranda Dalton carried her soul.
Now that Whitney Lynch is dead, for some reason, she felt it was odd, yet couldn’t quite articulate why.
