When Archie Lockwood and the others returned to the hotel, they found the hotel staff gathered together, seemingly discussing something.

One of the receptionists saw Archie Lockwood’s group, and her expression changed abruptly. She rushed over to him. "Mr. Lockwood!"

Archie Lockwood’s face was cold and grim. He subtly took two steps back.

"Miss, please, calm down and speak clearly." Howard Rhodes knew his boss’s temper, so he quickly stepped in to stop the receptionist before Archie could lose it.

"Oh my gosh, Mr. Lockwood, I have to ask, what is Miss Bishop’s relationship to you?" the receptionist asked anxiously, clutching Howard Rhodes’s arm with both hands.

The moment he heard the name "Miss Bishop," Archie Lockwood’s face darkened. "What happened to her?" he demanded.

"It’s like this, Mr. Lockwood. About half an hour ago, Miss Bishop was in a car accident..."

Before the receptionist could finish, Archie Lockwood cut her off, his voice cold with terror. "A car accident?" His heart clenched painfully as he spoke.

The receptionist nodded and said urgently, "Yes. She was hit by two cars and thrown. It doesn’t look good. I think... if Miss Bishop is a friend of yours, you should hurry over. If you go to the hospital now, you might be able to see her one last time."

Archie Lockwood and Howard Rhodes moved so quickly they left Shirley Lockwood and Louise Jordan far behind.

Louise Jordan took Shirley Lockwood’s hand and jogged to catch up with them.

Archie Lockwood got into the car. Shirley and the others were only ten-odd seconds behind him, but to Archie, time seemed to slow to a crawl, and his heart ached with an agonizing wrench.

It was as if he could already see the scene of the crash.

An image of her lying in a pool of blood flashed through his mind.

’Last time, I just saw her faint and get a nosebleed, and I was so scared I nearly had a heart attack. This is so much worse. What am I going to do?’

The moment Archie Lockwood got out of the car, he bolted into the hospital, heedless of whether anyone was behind him.

Howard Rhodes locked the car and gave Louise Jordan a complicated look. "Don’t go up. Stay here and take care of Rory."
