Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5061 Death Triad Strikes

Chapter 5061 Death Triad Strikes

"Kill them! They're just three brats!"

The bandit beside Iron Brains roared once he saw that there were only three of them and could only attack in the dark of the night.

Drain Dog didn't say anything, and neither did Iron Brains.

"Kill!"

The bandits unleashed their killing intent as they soared towards the three targets. They were mad that their degenerate comrades were killed before they could even resist.

Noctis stepped into the fray rather than retreating, which surprised the bandits, but neither party paused.

A spear came first.

Noctis flawlessly dodged the stab with a sidestep and waved his silver axe, burying it into the man's collarbone and ripping it apart effortlessly.

"What!?"

The bandits roared in shock as it happened too fast.

Some couldn't stop their momentum.

Noctis's pupils dilated as he focused on one person. The person who nearly called him a motherfucker.

A concentrated yet concealed pulse of pitch-black energy exploded outward, freezing the man mid-step. His body trembled as fear rooted itself deep within his soul, and in that single moment of hesitation, the second axe swept back and severed his head cleanly.

The bandits barely stopped themselves in fright, not knowing what kind of energy this tall figure was using.

When they looked at the other flanks for reinforcement, their scalp went numb.

Styx moved like a phantom.

Her figure blurred, her half a meter fang blade tracing arcs that were both graceful and lethal. She slipped between attacks, her movements fluid and effortless as though she danced through the battlefield.

A bandit swung at her neck, but she tilted her head.

The blade passed through empty air, instantly followed by her own weapon.

A ray of pitch-black light flashed, and a thin line appeared across the attacker's torso before his body split apart, sliding into two clean halves.

Three more closed in on her at that same time as they saw her raise her other hand, her palm flawless like a heavenly hand.

A shroud of death energy enveloped them as they felt the air tighten. Instantly, fear surged through them, and their movements faltered, their strikes losing cohesion as death energy seeped into their soul, gnawing at their consciousness.

Styx swung her fang blade in a dazzling, cold arc, beheading those bandits in an instant along with their weapons.

On the side of the left flank, a lean finger cleaved through the bandits and identified the two Level Four Empyrean Stage cultivators as his priority.

His daggers flashed in rapid succession, each movement precise, efficient, merciless. He targeted gaps, throats, joints, never wasting a single motion. A bandit tried to block him head-on, roaring as he poured his strength into his blade.

Ragna slipped past him as his figure flickered.

Both tendons at the man's ankles snapped.

Before the scream could fully form, Ragna's dagger pierced through his jaw and into his brain.

The battlefield descended into chaos.

The bandits attempted to regroup, their stronger members stepping forward to suppress the siblings with sheer force.

However, Ragna managed to break through.

He came at the person who was called Greedy Tongue from an angle the man never anticipated because it required passing through three other bandit squads to get there, and Ragna passed through them the way water passes through open fingers, his lean frame slipping every grasping hand and swinging blade with ease.

The dual daggers worked in alternating rhythm, and the three men he passed through each received a single precise strike before he cleared them and arrived in front of Greedy Tongue, the guy who seemed important as he remained beside Iron Brains.

Greedy Tongue was a Level Four Empyrean Stage cultivator and not a fool. He had already activated his defensive technique, his cultivation layered across his skin like scales. He thrust forward with a cultivation-imbued palm that would have caved in an ordinary chest.

Ragna turned his hip, let the palm graze past him, and drove a dagger into the gap between the man's elbow and his defense. It wasn't deep enough, but just enough. The death energy that followed the blade's entry point moved like ice water through a crack in stone, and Greedy Tongue's beautifully constructed defensive technique developed a flaw that hadn't been there a moment ago.

His next strike was ten percent slower. Then fifteen. It increased as the flaw spread.

Ragna made him work for every exchange while the spread continued.

"Together! Gang up on them together, you useless dogs!" Iron Brains roared as he suppressed his shock, as he knew they probably encountered supreme geniuses, and to their credit, the surviving bandits listened.

*Boom!~*

Drain Dog unleashed a shockwave with his aura, causing Noctis, Styx, and Ragna to be suppressed.

"Hmph!"

Noctis planted his feet and roared as he moved under the suppression, making Drain Dog's scalp turn numb.

Styx and Ragna also didn't stall and followed after their elder brother.

Who the fuck were these brats!? Were they supreme geniuses? Were supreme geniuses even this powerful!? It didn't fucking make sense when he suddenly remembered something.

'Divine Emperor of Death…' That one title shocked him to his core before he turned around and fled decisively.

The rumor about this dangerous person was becoming more prevalent ever since outside merchants came here and brought the news that the Divine Emperor of Death caused the Desolate Era. Although he didn't believe it, as he didn't think a person was capable of such a thing, he recognized this unrecognizable energy, which could only be death energy if he were to guess.

These were the Divine Emperor of Death's evil spawns!

However, he hadn't gotten far before he dropped dead and crashed into the ground.

His main body, far away from this place, on the western side of the continent, dropped dead soundlessly.

A pair of purple eyes and a crimson-purple glowing horn loomed from the shadows before taking its gaze off of him and looking at the battle.

"Fail!"

A melodiously terrifying voice echoed in the forest, causing Noctis, Styx, and Ragna's killing spree to come to a stop as they trembled. As for bandits, they all collapsed and started frothing from their mouths, their souls burning as their foreheads turned pitch-black underneath the assault of death-attributed netherflames.

Iron Brains and Greedy Tongue couldn't even get to use their special technique, whether it was for attack or escape. Their voices of pain were barely audible, like they were whelping for pain before they died one after another.

"Mother!" Styx revealed her canine teeth, "Seriously, you can't declare us fail just because the most powerful bandit fled out of the allotted circle. We could've still killed him if we had given chase after quickly killing them."

"No."

A small paw slapped Styx's cheek lightly, causing her to pout as she looked towards her shoulder with a wronged look on her face.

Three small Nadia doppelgangers hung on Noctis, Styx, and Ragna, acting as a shield against a potentially powerful enemy.

Nonetheless, Nadia spoke, her voice echoing coldly.

"The bandit leader had realized who we were, and he also appears to be an avatar who could relay information, so it's a fail. In essence, you should've all taken out the bandit leader first. That's what your father would've done."

Noctis and Ragna went speechless.

Asking them, Level Seven Immortal Emperors with a prowess that's ten levels higher to take down a Level Six Empyrean whose prowess could be one or two levels higher was hardcore. They could barely withstand the pressure through the usage of their Mid-Level Empyrean Grade Armaments, so they could still counterattack, but their thoughts were more along the lines of using this powerful opponent to train themselves in the end.

But who would've known that the most powerful bandit in this area would flee upon noticing the peculiarity of their powers?

"It could be said you have gained experience in this regard. Your father's powerful opponents also flee before they could face him because he had always turned the tide on them." Nadia said proudly before disappearing, leaving Noctis and the others looking at their shoulders.

Right now, their mother could not only maintain her true form but also produce three doppelgangers. It didn't mean that she had four tails, but after splitting with her doppelganger technique, her main body would have tails that were made up of pale-crimson, deathly netherflames.

This allowed her to protect the three of them willfully.

They shook and patted their bodies and tried to chase away the doppelgangers since they felt that they would feel at ease with these doppelgangers by their side all the time, but they could never shake them off. The fact that their mother was too damn cute in her tiny beast form was also a problem that greatly distracted them.

However, most of the time, they were unable to tell if she was even on them or not. Their mother was in perfect sync with their movements.

Nonetheless, they cleared out this bandit group and looted everything they could come across, like they were the finest bandits here before moving on, not getting caught a single time as she hopped on and hopped away from them as she pleased.

Sometime later, a black-robed figure emerged from the shadows and checked the aftermath of the fight with a curious gaze.

Then, with an enlightened expression, they looked in the direction where Nadia and the others had left before following them, their figure flickering across the darkness like flames that were snuffed out as their figure swayed like an illusion and disappeared each time.
