Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4861 Descended Where?

Chapter 4861  Descended Where?

*Bzzz!~*

A strange translucent, starry platform appeared in a mountain as a ray of purple-black light descended from a burning star, directly falling onto this platform.

The brilliance peeled off the purple-black light of astral energy layer by layer, revealing a figure a beautiful figure out of this world. She stood upon the translucent platform as though it were an extension of her Will, revealing a slender, ethereal beauty whose aura was one of detachment.

Her purple robe, made of a material that seemed to shimmer like the night sky, flowed gracefully around her, adding to her mystique.

Qiyra Darkstar descended from an astral star after a few hours of travel.

Her speed was way lower compared to before, and her aura seemed to have taken a dip, but she seemed flawless as ever. After landing, she descended down the mountain and stabilized her aura before releasing Davis from her astral spatial ring.

Davis appeared outside.

His first reaction was that he was surprised to have been actually released outside and not refined into a pill.

Although he trusted Saintess Lunaria, it must be known that she had separated from her disciples for one or a few million years, the number quite unknown. This was a mind-boggling number of years Davis couldn't comprehend at his age. Anything could happen during this time, one's emotions, one's loyalty, all regressing to nothing or renewed to someone anew.

However, Qiyra Darkstar seemed to still be Saintess Lunaria's disciple in heart and soul. Despite looking uncaring, she held a devoted heart, impressing him.

"Where are we?" He looked around, "Aren't you going to release the others?"

Qiyra Darkstar's gaze flickered as she opened her eyes, looking at him, "I'm out of astral essence. We need to make a trip again."

"Oh, so you have no idea where we are?" Davis blinked.

"That would be the case. It is dangerous to leave people outside, although I can let the rabbit out if you want."

"I can come out myself." A dark ray of light shot out, and Illumina appeared.

As an existence at the layer limit, Qiyra Darkstar would be hard-pressed to suppress her inside her ring unless she unleashed the replica of the Necklace of Light and Darkness to become a True Deity hegemonic cultivator.

Qiyra Darkstar narrowed her eyes, "Rude rabbit. My astral ring is rather brittle. It is the only thing that can carry you all with me, so be careful not to break it. I don't mind leaving you all here if you're uncooperative."

"You-" Illumina's expression twitched.

"Haha, my Illumina can be somewhat aggressive. I'll apologize in her stead." Davis cupped his hands and bowed.

"Master…" Illumina looked heartbroken and ashamed that she made her master apologize.

Her head and ears drooped, and she inwardly swore to behave silently.

Qiyra Darkstar gazed at Davis, not knowing if he was sincere or not, but she didn't care as long as she could complete her mission. She removed her gaze from them and continued to restore her strange astral essence that Davis had no idea about.

He scratched his chin and offered, "Do you perhaps need another Peak-Level Transcendent Crystal Vein Core?"

As long as he could get back, he wouldn't be worried about wasting money. He guessed Qiyra Darkstar would be worried about her face and not ask it by herself.

However, Qiyra Darkstar shook her head, "No, my astral seed has been overexpended crossing long distances. The second time, I also had much more heavy things to carry with my specialized astral ring, so if I have to compare to make a point, it's like using more fuel and overloading into a breakdown."

"Ah…" Davis nodded before he hesitantly said, "Then I won't disturb you."

Illumina was speechless. Was she just called… heavy?

She was the only one at the layer limit among the new people Qiyra Darkstar had to carry.

Davis was more interested in learning how Qiyra Darkstar made this so-called astral spatial ring, but he imagined that she wouldn't tell him. He could tell her face was becoming more and more annoyed at his questions, but he was being nosy too, so he didn't take offense at all.

"I apologize, master…"

Illumina came closer to Davis, her head still lowered.

Davis waved his hand, "No, never lose your dignity in front of anyone. Never be afraid to stand up for yourself, thinking you would disparage my reputation. You're not my maid anymore, but my wife."

"Ah?" Illumina's cheeks turned rosy instantly, her drooping ears flicking up.

"Yeah, you have more privileges." Davis teased her.

"Ahh?~"

"Shall we continue where we left off?"

"…" Illumina was overloaded, her legs almost turning limp as she wobbled.

Davis looked taken aback before he held her from falling. He didn't think teasing her would be so effective.

Qiyra Darkstar's brows twitched. She could hear everything. It seems like it wasn't a sincere apology if he was going to embolden Illumina's aggressive reaction to her. Then again, she didn't care.

"Well, I sense some activity in the distance. I'd like to go check it out, so can I know how long it would take for Fairy Qiyra to recover?"

Davis held Illumina's hand and turned to look at Qiyra Darkstar. The latter stayed silent for a few moments before answering.

"Two days."

"Two days…"

"Yes, just sit and wait instead of going somewhere. I won't be responsible for leaving you here if I have to leave due to some emergency."

"You…" Davis appeared reluctant, "… have a point… I guess I'll send my soul body then. Oh, wait- I can create an avatar now. I'll use this chance to create one."

His eyes went wide, filled with excitement, as he brought out the Verdant Vitalis Avatar Technique that Ellia had created. Different from the Solitary Soul Avatar, the technique used only the soul essence to create a soul avatar; it could also create a fleshly avatar as long as one had the resources to create the fleshly body.

Fortunately, after receiving it, he had already worked on it to fit his physiques and now, he only needed to fine-tune it.

Back then, Ellia had said it was capable of replicating ninety-five percent of the user's prowess, and since it was a life-based avatar, it could transfer itself to the user, meaning it could heal injuries in an instant, acting as a reservoir of vitality, even restoring soul essence. It is also critically life-bound, so if one were to take a life-threatening hit, it can splatter in their stead.

If the life avatar perishes, then it will even leave a life seed that can be used to remake it in a few minutes. All they would need is to pour the required amount of energy. It can also defend from karmic attacks.

Davis knew this was the case for Ellia's Verdant Vitalis Avatar.

But for him, this could change a bit because of the different physiques involved. After all, the Verdant Vitalis Avatar Technique took soul essence to make, and the soul essence also contained information about the blood. The blood-soul essence people would mention was the essence of the truesoul, and further beyond that was the Soul Quintessence.

Ellia's Verdant Vitalis Avatar Technique even utilized the Soul Quintessence a bit. If he returned, he was positive she might've made a bit more improvements.

As for what changes his Verdant Vitalis Avatar could undergo- that could be many things.

For example, because of the reincarnation aspect, his Verdant Vitalis Avatar could also revive itself, but for how many times, he predicted it could be no more than three times unless improved. Because his soul was also ridiculously strong, the prowess it replicated might also be lower.

There could be both positive and negative effects.

Regardless, Davis also wanted to create a fleshly body avatar to use bodily strength, and he just had the resources to create it.

With a thought, he sent his soul body out and began working on the Verdant Vitalis Avatar Technique as he sat on the opposite side of Qiyra Darkstar.

Illumina recovered during the meantime and stood beside him, guarding like a true guardian. It was as though the term 'wife' didn't even enter her head, disappearing somewhere as she continued to act like a warrior.

Davis's soul body drifted across the mountain range, skimming past treetops and jagged stone as though he were no more than a wandering thought.

Soon, he noticed movement.

A line of carriages creaked along a narrow mountain road, magical beasts pulling wooden wagons reinforced with low-grade formations. Cultivators walked on either side, their vigilance obvious but their strength modest, Immortal King Stage at best.

It appeared to be a merchant convoy.

Davis disguised himself and landed a few hundred meters away from them before he caught up to them.

Naturally, the convoy instantly went on alert on seeing a black-robed figure appear from behind. Unable to sense his aura, they could only shout.

"Fellow cultivator, what business do you have on this road? State your business."

Davis cupped his hands with humility, "This junior was heading toward the nearest town. I lost my companions to a magical beast in the mountains three days ago. I was hoping to travel with your convoy for safety."

The guard who shouted studied him, sweeping his soul sense over Davis's body. He found nothing alarming or anything suspicious. The latter appeared a bit injured with bleeding over his chest that he seemed to hide.

Another guard leaned over, "You came alone through the Ironspine Range?"

Davis smiled bitterly, "Barely."

He guessed a disguise and some illusion was believable enough for these low-level cultivators.

The guard hesitated, then nodded, "You can walk with the rear. Don't make trouble, and no wandering."

"Thank you, senior."

Davis cupped his hands again.

The convoy that slowed down began to move towards the city in the near distance.
