Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4798 Ah, That's-

Chapter 4798  Ah, That's-

After refining his soul for the ninety-ninth time, Davis exited seclusion with Myria.

Refinement of the soul was something only he and Myria could do with their reincarnation energy that swept negative and foreign anomalies of the soul.

He really felt no difference apart from a pulsing pain that made his head throb occasionally. Furthermore, the Covenant in his soul still didn't disperse after all that refinement, making him painfully understand what kind of unrelenting karmic contract he had been placed under.

However, he was filled with a bit of confidence in regards to breaking it. This was the case before he even got to comprehend the Level Three Obscure Intent of Enigmatic Heart Laws. Now that he had comprehended it, he was full of confidence.

"Everyone, it's time to leave."

Davis walked over to the hall where everyone who wasn't in the time-sealed space gathered.

Evelynn and the others solemnly nodded.

They sat in the hall and planned things out extensively, starting from traveling to the celestial body from the Wrathful Aeons Shard Region and settling there without making much of a ruckus.

Rioxys Plume would be there to help them.

Fairy Thunderblaze would receive them in the celestial body's entrance.

If all things went smooth, then the rest could do as planned, while he would step into the spatial vortex that leads to the Six-Headed Hydra Upper Realm and start his tribulation on their capital city if he could be greedy.

It was better not to approach the capital since the Realm Master was a hegemon with the power of a True Deity-level expert. Even if he survived his tribulation, it would be doubtful if he could survive the assault of a True Deity.

He had experienced the power of a True Deity firsthand.

Even a wrong look fueled with blazing ill intent might injure his soul.

More than anything, he guessed his time would be limited.

He had to summon his tribulation, finish it as soon as possible, and leave before he got surrounded. Otherwise, things would get messy or even dire.

After a lengthy discussion, the Davis Family finally moved out.

Davis was the only one who remained in the fortress, his expression solemn as he gazed at the leaving party. No one was left. Even the guests appeared to have gone back to their realms as they retreated months ago.

After bidding them farewell, Davis stayed here because the Temporal Voidplane Ring itself was not a big bubble of fate that was moving through the Shard Continent. After all, the number of Divergents inside it was great.

He could only depend on Rioxys Plume to deliver them safely into the spatial vortex leading to the celestial body.

As he waited, many matters he had previously failed to consider propped up in his mind.

Particularly, he recalled that Jade Aurora and Ivy Aries had entered a time region.

Because of him, he guessed most who have entered the Time-Attributed Shard Region would most likely be screwed beyond compare. He couldn't care less, but those two were his allies. He didn't know what to feel about them getting lost there and being stuck in the Elemental Dimension when they came out.

'Did they get out…? I'll have to ask Evelynn when I get to the celestial body's entrance and retrieve the Temporal Voidplane Ring…' Davis thought.

His Nadia and Eldia were both in the Temporal Voidplane Ring. Besides, Myria would also come with him. Calypsea as well. However, he hadn't necessarily finalized taking them all with him.

He was also interested in seeing what kind of changes would occur if he were to bring Calypsea out here. After all, she was literally the apocalyptic spirit who could eat realm spirits, and those realm spirits were something he expected to find her, but didn't meet with them one bit at all.

He guessed they were secretive existences even in the Elemental Dimension, for even the higher realm rulers were not aware of them.

Nonetheless, despite his initial thought process, he had no intention to release Calypsea here. It was impossible since the Dimension itself would suppress the ring from releasing any Empyrean and above lifeforms that were stored. Otherwise, the Dimension would've reacted to Calypsea the moment Isabella re-entered the Eternal Twilight Shard Region carrying Calypsea.

As his mind wandered, he had glimpses of Ralaza Heavenshade, wondering if she had returned to her Upper Realm safely. It seemed like she stayed until the last moment until she could no longer. It was obvious she had been hoping to meet him one last time. Unfortunately, she wasn't even on his mind as he was refining his soul in a painful manner.

It wouldn't be strange if he forgot one or two memories from all the refinement.

Without reincarnation energy, such an action was tantamount to suicide.

He then recalled various other people he had met before, once again thinking about Jade Aurora and Ivy Aries. However, no matter how bad he felt, he couldn't jeopardize the plan he and his wives had devised and risk failure.

'No… I can't make a move for my selfish reasons after coming this far…' Davis inwardly thought, hoping that the two of them had left the Elemental Dimension already.

He waited for half a day, filled with worry and tension about the family's short adventure through the Shard Continent, before he also stood up and made his way to the Wrathful Aeons Shard Region's spatial vortex that led to the Shard Continent.

Stepping out, Davis momentarily came to a stop as he saw a crimson-robed man with unkempt golden hair. However, his robes were torn and made him look like a high-spirited beggar, especially with his long golden beard.

This golden-haired man was stunned.

Davis also blinked, wondering who still dared to stay here, but some did not get the news at all, stuck somewhere in the Shard Region or the Shard continent. He supposed he was to blame for all of it.

"You are…?" Just as he asked, the other party brightened.

"Wah! A fellow cultivator. How nice it is to see a fellow human after a grueling battle with my fated Calamity."

The golden-haired man uttered excitedly before he cupped his hands.

"Good day to you, fellow immortal. I go by the name, Zhao Yan, of the Zhao Family from the Celestial Transcendent Greater Realm. I suppose you might recognize me as the number one supreme genius many-many years ago, but I don't know you. You look quite strong. May I know your name?"

Davis looked up and down at him, "An Empyrean? Did you face the False Dawn Harbinger as your fated Calamity?"

"Fellow cultivator…" The golden-haired man looked stunned, "You know about the trials of this dimension?"

Davis nodded, "Are you one of those supreme geniuses who got stuck long ago?"

Zhao Yan nodded, "It's a pity… I was betrothed to the Supreme One's second daughter. In the end, I never got to marry that beauty but got stuck here. What a pity…"

He moved his head and lowered, glancing at Davis in intervals as though wanting to get information from him about his betrothed.

"Ah, that's-" Davis looked elsewhere, shocked.

The golden-haired man quickly turned his head in the direction Davis was looking.

*Pow*

Davis's hand abruptly slapped Zhao Yan's abdomen, slapping him with a force that caused his dantian to rupture ever so lightly, nearly collapsing. At the same time, a talisman seal was placed on him.

"You-"

"Fellow cultivator, you're coming with me." Davis smiled faintly as he grabbed Zhao Yan's head, his thumb on his glabella, "I happen to know your father-in-law very well."

"…"

Zhao Yan cast a pained glance at Davis before he knelt and lost consciousness.
