Chapter 631: Chapter 630: Captured

"Thunderfire Bombardment—Reversed!" Just as Lin Yun finished speaking, a massive fireball instantly enveloped him and the hundred-plus Divine Palace Warriors.

Everyone was trapped inside the fireball. From the outside, it looked like nothing special. But for the hundred-plus Divine Palace Warriors trapped within, their expressions changed drastically.

Raging purple flames and rampant lightning created a scene straight out of Hell. To the astonishment of the Divine Palace Warriors, bolts of lightning rained down, and the flames seemed to twist into fiery dragons.

Agonized screams echoed ceaselessly from within the fireball, though they were completely inaudible from the outside.

It was like Hell. Bolts of lightning struck the Divine Palace Warriors, tearing their skin and splitting their flesh, while the flames scorched them black.

Lin Yun, also inside the fireball, was subjected to the same assault from the lightning and flames. He didn’t scream like the others, though. Instead, a bloodthirsty smile crept across his face.

"Are you insane? Your own Martial Skill is attacking you, too! Are you trying to take us all down with you?"

"You madman! This is Hell! Aaaargh... You’re a devil."

The Divine Palace Warriors shrieked in agony. Hearing their screams, Lin Yun coughed up a mouthful of blood and spoke, his voice chilling.

"That’s right. This is Hell. And now... welcome to Hell."

As Lin Yun’s words fell, the lightning and flames inside the fireball grew even more frenzied, and the screams became incessant.

A full hundred breaths later, the fireball in the sky finally began to dissipate. The scene revealed before Wei Yunhang and his two companions, however, left them completely stunned.

The hundred-plus Divine Palace Warriors were all dead. Their bodies plummeted toward the ground, one after another. Lin Yun fell with them, his hand still locked in a death grip on the Demon Bone Heaven-Dominating Spear.

He slammed hard onto the ground, violently spitting out a large mouthful of blood.

After a long, stunned silence, Wei Yunhang and his companions couldn’t believe it. Lin Yun had actually, single-handedly, slaughtered hundreds of Divine Palace Warriors.

These were all warriors at the Celestial Spirit Realm of cultivation! Even without Spirit Soldiers, this was still an unbelievable feat. To possess such Combat Power...

Slowly snapping out of it, the three descended to land in front of Lin Yun. Looking down at his prone form, Song Tianyang forced an ugly smile and muttered, as if trying to convince himself.

"So what if he was powerful? He’s dead now. A dead man is a dead man. It doesn’t matter how strong you were; it’s all for nothing."

But in the next second, fate dealt Song Tianyang a resounding slap in the face. Lin Yun—who all three of them believed to be dead, or at the very least, *should* have been dead—was actually struggling to his feet.

Just by looking at him, it was obvious how much he was struggling. Using the Demon Bone Heaven-Dominating Spear to prop himself up, Lin Yun shakily rose to his feet.

"Now, it’s just you three. Come on... you three rats." Lin Yun looked at them, his eyes filled with killing intent. Though speaking was a struggle, his voice was unnaturally cold.

His words clearly stunned them for a moment, but they quickly erupted in rage, charging at Lin Yun and shouting in near unison.

"Lin Yun, you’re courting death!"

Watching the three charge at him, Lin Yun struggled to straighten his back, clutching the Demon Bone Heaven-Dominating Spear tightly. Even now, he showed no sign of submission, no intention of begging for mercy.

Just as the trio was about to reach Lin Yun, Qing Zhu suddenly, mysteriously appeared before him.

Upon seeing Qing Zhu, the three men instinctively halted. They were all members of the Qing Zhu Association now. And while all three were infatuated with her, they were also well aware of her methods.

Qing Zhu looked at the three of them and said coolly, "It seems you didn’t take what I said seriously at all."

They didn’t reply. Qing Zhu’s order had been to capture Lin Yun alive, but they had tried to kill him instead, a clear violation of her command.

She turned to look at the heavily injured Lin Yun, a flicker of a smile in her eyes. But when Lin Yun looked back at her, his gaze was filled with nothing but ice.

With Wei Yunhang and the other two rebuked, they didn’t dare say another word in Qing Zhu’s presence. They answered respectfully and then vanished from sight.

Only then did Qing Zhu turn to Lin Yun. "You really are the most fascinating man I’ve ever met," she said. "I’ve always told myself that my man doesn’t have to be the strongest in the world, but he must be the most resilient—someone who never gives up in adversity, who never bows his head in despair."

Lin Yun didn’t reply. His vision went black, and he lost consciousness. Fortunately, just as he was about to collapse, Qing Zhu rushed forward and caught him.

Supporting Lin Yun, Qing Zhu glanced at the corpses of the hundreds of Divine Palace Warriors scattered around them. A faint smile touched her lips. ’You’re making me like you more and more,’ she thought with a soft chuckle. ’If this keeps up, I might even start getting jealous of the other women in your life.’

Qing Zhu had arrived personally to save Lin Yun. Of course, she also realized she had fallen for a ruse. This had been a feint by Lin Yun’s group, with the crucial detail that they themselves were the bait.

The Divine Palace would naturally handle the cleanup. Qing Zhu brought Lin Yun back to Divine Celestial City and had him placed in her own private courtyard.

Wei Yunhang and his two companions were inwardly furious about Qing Zhu’s arrangements, but they didn’t dare to voice any objections.

All three men were infatuated with Qing Zhu. How could they possibly be in a good mood watching another man—and Lin Yun, of all people—move into her courtyard?

Lin Yun’s plan was a success. At dawn, the ten Grand Commanders of the Demon Palace led their warriors to successfully capture the city nearest to Demon City.

They had killed over a thousand Divine Palace Warriors and captured more than two hundred alive. Though a number of Divine Palace Warriors managed to escape, it was, without a doubt, a major victory.

Meanwhile, at the rendezvous point, Xi Zijin and the others were still waiting for Lin Yun. When he still hadn’t appeared, a terrible feeling began to creep into their hearts.

"Nothing’s happened to Young Master Lin, has it?" the Monk asked, a rare note of worry in his voice.

Hearing this, Xi Zijin shot to her feet. "I’m going back," she declared, her voice like ice.

Seeing this, the Monk and Daoist quickly grabbed her. They both knew Lin Yun had stayed behind to cover their retreat, specifically to ensure her safe escape. What good would it do for her to go back now?

"Calm down! What could you possibly do by going back now? Let’s return to Demon City first. We can make a plan once we have news of Young Master Lin."
