Chapter 1748: Princess Roseline!
Chapter 1748: Princess Roseline!
Only a few seconds after Max and Nancy disappeared, a figure appeared at the scene.
She was a young woman dressed in a flowing white and rose-gold gown that shone faintly beneath the light of the Eternal Hourglass, and the moment she arrived, the entire atmosphere around the city seemed to become quieter.
Her long golden-pink hair fell smoothly down her back, her eyes were clear and bright like polished gemstones, and her bearing carried a natural elegance that could not be imitated.
She did not need to announce her identity. The crown-like ornament resting above her forehead, the noble pressure surrounding her, and the way several nearby guards immediately lowered their heads all made it obvious.
She was Princess Rosaline.
And she truly looked like a princess.
Her beauty was refined, her posture was dignified, and even the slight frown on her face carried the authority of someone used to being obeyed. However, at this moment, there was no gentleness in her eyes.
She looked around the area where the Sword God Palace disciples had been cut down, and the more she observed, the more serious her expression became.
There were no bodies left.
Only fading traces of Killing Points, shattered sword intent, and a terrifying sword aura that had not fully dispersed.
Rosaline slowly raised one hand and touched the air in front of her.
The moment her fingers brushed against the remaining aura, her pupils narrowed slightly.
"What a terrifying sword aura," she muttered to herself.
The aura was thin now, only a remnant left behind after the attack had already ended, but even this remnant was frightening. It was not wild, nor was it loud, yet it carried an eerie sharpness that made her feel as if something emotionless had passed through this space and severed everything in its path.
The sword aura did not feel like ordinary sword intent. It felt deeper, colder, and far more dangerous, as if the person who had released it had cut down the disciples without even allowing their emotions, thoughts, or fear to fully form.
Rosaline’s expression became solemn.
"Could it have been Damian?"
The name left her lips in a soft murmur.
Damian of the Sword God Palace.
Among the younger generation of the Sword God Palace, Damian was one of the few people whose sword aura could make even Rosaline feel cautious. His talent in the sword was monstrous, and if anyone in this region could leave behind such a terrifying sword trace, Damian would naturally be the first person she would suspect.
Moreover, Damian of the Sword God Palace was the one who had the highest chance of inheriting the Sword God’s Legacy this time.
But the moment that thought appeared, Rosaline’s brows furrowed even deeper.
"That does not make sense," she muttered.
Her gaze swept across the empty sky where the Sword God Palace disciples had vanished.
"Why would Damian kill disciples of his own force?"
The question made the situation even more strange. These were disciples of the Sword God Palace. Even if Damian was arrogant, even if he had conflicts with some of them, there was no reason for him to cut down more than a hundred of his own people so cleanly near a neutral city, especially when Princess Rosaline had given clear orders to gather all passing participants at the entrance. Doing something like this would not only be cruel, it would also be foolish, and Damian was not foolish.
Rosaline closed her eyes for a brief moment and sensed the lingering sword aura again.
The more she felt it, the more unsettled she became.
The sword aura was not exactly the same as Damian’s.
Damian’s sword was proud, sharp, and domineering, like a blade that wanted all other swords to lower themselves before it.
But this aura was different. It was quiet. It was empty. It carried a strange severing force that seemed to cut away not only bodies, but also the very emotions behind resistance. It was sword power, but not the kind of sword power she associated with Damian.
Her eyes opened slowly.
"Is there another person besides Damian who can possess such terrifying sword aura?"
The words came out almost unconsciously, and there was deep shock in her voice.
Around her, the guards who had followed her remained silent, not daring to disturb her thoughts. They had arrived too late. Whoever had caused this had already left, and the only thing remaining was a sword trace powerful enough to make Princess Rosaline herself fall into thought.
Rosaline turned toward the direction Max and Nancy had disappeared.
She had not seen them clearly, but the fading spatial disturbance in the air told her that two figures had left only moments before she arrived.
"One of them did this," she said softly.
Her eyes sharpened.
If the person responsible was not Damian, then the situation had become far more interesting than she expected.
A mysterious swordsman had appeared, killed more than a hundred Sword God Palace disciples with a single terrifying sword slash, left behind a sword aura that could rival the strongest geniuses of the Sword God Palace, and then disappeared toward the direction of Witch God Valley.
Rosaline’s expression grew thoughtful.
"Witch God Valley..." she murmured.
After a moment, she turned toward the guards behind her.
"Find out who passed through this area just now. I want names, races, affiliations, and everything the witnesses saw."
"Yes, Princess."
Several guards immediately lowered their heads and moved to obey.
Rosaline remained in the sky, still staring toward the direction where Max had gone. The wind brushed against her gown, and the last remnant of Max’s Emotion Severing Path finally began to fade from the air, but the impression it left behind remained deeply carved into her mind.
"If this was not Damian," she whispered, "then a new monster has entered the stage."
Her gaze became sharper.
"And he is heading toward Witch God Valley."
Just at that moment, the young man who had appeared earlier to stop the dark blue armored man from attacking Max descended from the sky and appeared before Princess Rosaline. His expression was no longer as cold and commanding as it had been when he scolded the Sword God Palace disciples.
Now, there was a clear trace of apology on his face, and after landing a short distance away from Rosaline, he immediately lowered his head in respect.
"Princess," he said in an apologetic manner, "I know who did this."
