Chapter 891: Chapter 890: Something From Beyond the Sky?

The growth of the Angel Giant Tree has stabilized, and the crystalline illusion floating around its crown no longer exhibits visible changes, leaving only a gentle, pleasing spiritual energy resonance that occasionally emanates from the sky.

The illusory star river from the Cosmic Border is still reflected in the lake, but these reflections do not interfere with the camp’s normal water usage—the deep starry sky seems to overlap here in a wonderful "superimposed" state, without actually touching it.

Erin sat on Yu Sheng’s shoulder, blinking her eyes and looking at the magnificent tree crown above, then at the gleaming lake not far away, with an incredulous expression on her face: "Yu Sheng, Yu Sheng, has the Calibrator unfolded already?"

"The hardware can be considered in place, but the self-adjustment of the system and the data synchronization between the Calibrator and the Tree Angel will take some time," Yu Sheng said casually, "During this period, you can deal with the data packet at the bottom layer of your mind—I’ve already contacted Marin, and she will prepare another set of Alice Tree Devices for you, which should arrive within two days."

Erin responded with an "oh," and at that moment, layers of ripples appeared again on the surface of the Giant Tree Gate in the distance, accompanied by distant scenery emerging in the gate. A few trucks carrying supplies drove over from the valley.

Yu Sheng immediately saw Little Red Riding Hood sitting in the cabin of the first truck.

She was in the passenger seat, while the main driver seat was occupied by the Shadow Seat Wolf she usually rode.

Frankly speaking, at that moment, Yu Sheng thought his eyes were playing tricks on him. He even doubted whether he had stared at the Annihilation embers with the Captain at the border for too long, messing up his eyesight. The next second, he heard Hu Li exclaim beside him: "Wow! Savior! Little Red Riding Hood’s wolf got a driving license?!"

Then, Yu Sheng saw Little Red Riding Hood’s wolf ears twitching on her head, obviously hearing Hu Li’s words. She blushed and hopped off the truck, quickly explaining before anyone could ask: "This stretch is considered a facility’s internal closed road, closed roads and such... they don’t check licenses..."

Yu Sheng thought for a moment and couldn’t help but point toward the Shadow Seat Wolf in the truck as he asked: "I won’t ask about the license first, I just want to know why this guy can drive?"

Little Red Riding Hood opened her mouth but hadn’t had a chance to speak when Cinderella jumped off the second truck, walking over while casually saying: "What else could it be, tested too many times, the wolf hides in her shadow and retakes the tests all the time, learned just by watching."

Yu Sheng listened in astonishment, and Cinderella continued with the second part: "Not only did the wolf learn, but the car she was testing with also learned—during the road test two days ago, the car started racing toward the finish line just as she got in without even starting the engine, after which she was disqualified at the testing site for having a Mechanical Soul replacement take the test..."

Little Red Riding Hood’s face was as red as her jacket, and hearing this, she finally couldn’t bear it anymore: "How can that be my fault? I told Dorothy to stay at home properly, but she insisted on coming to the test site, clapping and cheering for me, I didn’t even hear it, the car heard it first..."

Yu Sheng opened his mouth several times, eventually not knowing how to console his classmate, Wang Jiajia, standing in front of him, so he awkwardly changed the subject: "So what did you bring this time?"

Cinderella pointed to the convoy behind her: "Clothes, miscellaneous goods, herbs picked from the Black Forest, some common pill talismans sent by Xuan Che from Qianfeng Ling Mountain, a batch of Hongsu fuel from the Dark Meteor Domain, and forty-six tons of beans sent by Jack."

Yu Sheng instinctively looked up, seeing a young man with short, slightly curly hair sticking his head out of the back of a truck, grinning foolishly like an evil bean wholesaler.

Yu Sheng: "..."

Soon, the heavy trucks rumbled away, and not long after the transport team from Fairy Tale Valley left, two more groups of people passed through the Giant Tree Gate to arrive here.

One group was environmental survey team from the Boundary Land, here to study the unique natural environment of this giant Sky Island and also to observe how the vampire’s photosynthesis worked; the other group was the City Building and Refining Masters from Qianfeng Ling Mountain, invited by Yu Sheng to help build a new city here and see the vampire’s photosynthesis.

Gazing at the increasingly bustling camp on Lake Heart Island, and across the lake at the construction site that had just begun but already showed potential, Yu Sheng’s face lit up with a genuine smile.

"Things are getting better, everything is getting better."

Just then, he suddenly noticed something flashing within his peripheral vision amongst the clouds on the horizon.

At first, Yu Sheng didn’t even pay attention to the flash, after all, it was too distant and too brief, and it was a bright, sunny day. This world had crisscrossing Suspended Rivers passing through the clouds, with sunlight streaming over those floating rivers and waterfalls, and similar fleeting flashes weren’t rare.

Until the flash appeared two or three more times, becoming more distinct and lasting longer each time.

Hu Li evidently noticed the anomaly on the horizon as well, pulling on Yu Sheng’s sleeve intensely: "Savior! Look over there! It looks like there’s some—"

Before the demon fox girl could finish, Yu Sheng saw a huge, crystal or mirror-like transparent object suddenly ripping through the clouds, casting dazzling rays of light and crashing directly toward the hilly area at the edge of the land.

Even from afar, he could roughly gauge the size of the object.

A vague plume of dust rose from the direction of the landing point, accompanied by what seemed to be a flash, and after a short while, Yu Sheng heard a faint, thunder-like sound from afar.

Quite a few people on Lake Heart Island and across the lake noticed the sudden commotion in the sky, and some seemed to have noticed the earlier flashes as well. They looked in the direction of the sound, pointing, and whispering in surprise.

"Brother! Brother! Something fell over there!" An excited voice shouted from the camp direction, and Yu Sheng watched as a ball of golden Wind Rolling Grass ran to him in the blink of an eye, "What’s happening there? Is it normal?"

"I’ll go confirm the situation," Yu Sheng quickly waved his hand, "tell the others not to panic—let those exploring on the plains return first, and don’t stray too far from the big tree."

The long-haired princess nodded vigorously with her eyes wide open: "Okay! I’m off then, you be careful!"

The golden wind rolling grass immediately ran off again, while Yu Sheng exchanged a glance with Hu Li, and in the next second, the latter rolled on the spot, transforming into a giant Nine-Tailed Demon Fox. Using its tail, it wrapped Yu Sheng onto its back, and with one Immortal Fox Pouncing on the Moon, it jumped straight across the lake.

However, Yu Sheng did not head directly to the place where that thing had fallen but first went to the construction site on the other side of the lake to find Red and Baili Qing.

"Did you see that thing?"

Yu Sheng asked, riding on Hu Li’s back.

Red and Baili Qing were standing on a platform at the edge of the construction site, while the high-tier blood clan maid Sela was standing not far away. They had obviously already noticed the commotion in the sky, and when Yu Sheng arrived, the three of them were looking in the same direction.

"We noticed it. I’ve already sent the nearest reconnaissance drone over," Baili Qing replied, "but there seems to be strong signal interference over there, so the drone’s observation distance is limited."

Yu Sheng nodded: "Okay, we’re heading over now to check it out."

"I’ll go with you," Red immediately said, "the hilly area there is uncharted territory at the moment, so the situation is unknown. I’m quite good at exploration."

Yu Sheng hesitated slightly. He wanted to say that he was also quite good at exploration, but after recalling the glorious results of his previous explorations, he swallowed his words and tried hard to maintain a serious demeanor as he lightly nodded.

A moment later, the Nine-Tailed Fox skimmed across the low sky, soaring straight to the horizon with a massive blue propulsion flame.

And they hadn’t flown far when Yu Sheng suddenly felt a stir in his heart, and from the corner of his eye, he saw a luxurious flying carpet coming up from the side rear.

On the flying carpet sat Lucrecia, and the Big Nephew who was vigorously waving this way, with a few branches on his head.

"Brother Yu! I’m coming with you too!"

"No choice, he insisted on coming," Lucrecia explained to Yu Sheng with a helpless expression, "He said he was good at finding clues and that he’d been sunbathing too much and needed to get moving because the old tree said excellent plants should excel at exercise... so I brought him along."

Yu Sheng was dumbfounded as he listened, while next to him, the Little Puppet muttered, "Wow, I really forgot about this talent of a Big Nephew... All he’s done these past few days is sunbathe around the old tree, turning himself into a bonsai."

Yu Sheng thought about it and figured that it might be uncertain who was better at exploring between him and Red, but the Big Nephew was truly skilled at it...

Along the way, they raced like the wind, without encountering any other incidents, nor did anything else fall from the clouds.

The landing point had already appeared in view.

From a distance, Yu Sheng and the others saw some smoke rising from the distant mountains. The dust kicked up during the fall had mostly settled back down, but there seemed to be something still burning below, and occasional cracking and popping sounds could be heard, like lightning.

As they got closer, Yu Sheng suddenly noticed the fur on Hu Li’s back gradually fluffing up, and his skin tingled with a wave of numbness.

There seemed to be a strong electric field in the air.

However, Erin was non-conductive, and the Little Puppet felt nothing, only curiously reaching out to grab the fluff on Hu Li’s back: "Wow, silly fox, you’re all fluffy!"

"What fluffy, there’s a high-energy reaction here!" The fox girl turned her head hard, trying to bite the Little Puppet but gave up as she couldn’t reach, "Savior, we have to lower the altitude—the energy field in the air is very unstable, we might get struck by lightning..."

Before the demon fox girl could finish her sentence, Yu Sheng heard a crack nearby, as a dazzling electric arc slashed through the sky, striking Lucrecia’s flying carpet directly.

Erin was startled on the spot, turned her head and exclaimed: "Holy crap! The Big Nephew turned into lightning-struck wood!"

Then they saw a trembling hand rise on the flying carpet, blackened by the strike, waving in the air: "Brother Yu, I’m... I’m okay..."

Yu Sheng sighed.

It turns out that crossing an electrified cloud layer with a bunch of branches on your head is harmful to your health.
