Devouring Sword God
Chapter 110: You Don’t Have a Single One
Chapter 110: Chapter 110: You Don’t Have a Single One
In the next instant, Yi Xiaoyao shot over to the Hundred Flowers Sect disciple’s side.
As her light, fresh scent wafted over him, a flicker of amusement crossed Yi Xiaoyao’s face. ℯℯ𝑙.
"How interesting."
Yi Xiaoyao chuckled softly.
The corners of the woman’s lips curled up slightly. She just knew Yi Xiaoyao wouldn’t have the heart to kill her.
"Young Master, does this mean you’ve agreed not to kill me?" the woman asked Yi Xiaoyao, her voice soft and coy.
Yi Xiaoyao didn’t say a word, simply reaching for her neck.
Just as the disciple from the Hundred Flowers Sect thought she had succeeded, the triumphant look on her face froze, replaced by terror and disbelief.
A line of crimson appeared where Yi Xiaoyao’s hand had brushed her neck, instantly trickling down her snow-white skin.
"Ugh... ah... You..."
The woman choked out a few garbled syllables. She had never imagined that Yi Xiaoyao would be immune to her charms, using his Sword Qi to slit her throat.
Yi Xiaoyao released her, letting her body fall to the ground without a single glance.
It wasn’t that he couldn’t appreciate beauty, but this woman’s looks were simply not worth mentioning when compared to Yun Mengling’s.
Yi Xiaoyao paused. ’Why did I suddenly think of Yun Mengling?’
’That’s right. I have to find Miss Yun, Luo Yi, and Han Xiao. It’ll be trouble if they’ve run into enemies too.’
At this thought, Yi Xiaoyao hurriedly left the area.
Meanwhile, outside on the altar, the Sect Leaders of the Major Sects were all staring intently at the dots of light on the screen above.
The Sect Leader of the Hundred Flowers Sect was saying to Shangguan Jingyun with a smile, "Master Shangguan, my disciple has exceptional talent in the Sword Dao. She comprehended Sword Qi at such a young age, so you can rest easy."
Shangguan Jingyun’s brow suddenly furrowed. "Sect Leader of Hundred Flowers," he said, "your disciple is already dead."
"What!?"
The Hundred Flowers Sect Leader stared intently at the screen, and their face instantly turned pale.
On the light screen, the dot representing the disciple from the Hundred Flowers Sect had indeed vanished.
"How is that possible!"
Others in the surrounding crowd also cried out in alarm.
"A disciple at the Ninth Realm of Foundation Establishment who had comprehended Sword Qi was actually killed by some kid at the Sixth Realm?"
"No wonder the Seven Kills Star Hall sent that kid. It seems that Yi Xiaoyao is truly something else!"
"Something unexpected must have happened. In any case, I won’t believe it unless I see it with my own eyes."
As the important figures from the Major Sects murmured amongst themselves, they couldn’t help but glance over at the Seven Kills Star Hall.
The Black Robe Hall Master’s expression was impassive. He wasn’t the least bit surprised by this outcome.
He knew just how much of a prodigy Yi Xiaoyao was. Thus, the moment he saw the Hundred Flowers Sect disciple cross paths with Yi Xiaoyao, he already knew the result.
"I hope the boy is able to make some significant gains this time," the Black Robe Hall Master murmured.
...
At that moment, Yi Xiaoyao was racing straight ahead and soon entered a patch of dense fog.
’If this is the Great Demon Ancient Tomb, why haven’t I seen a single Demon Beast or even a gravestone yet?’ he wondered.
Suddenly, Yi Xiaoyao slowed his pace. He could see several figures in the mist up ahead.
"There’s someone over there." The figures had also spotted Yi Xiaoyao and quickly approached.
Yi Xiaoyao’s gaze sharpened. He recognized the six people before him; they belonged to the Evil Sect Forces.
"Ah, so you’re one of us. I remember now, you’re that kid from the Seven Kills Star Hall, aren’t you?"
The other party had also recognized Yi Xiaoyao at a glance.
’Even though you couldn’t trust anyone in here, at least members of the Evil Sect Forces wouldn’t just drop all pretense and start killing each other right away.’
So Yi Xiaoyao nodded. "Yi Xiaoyao of the Seven Kills Star Hall."
One of the six stepped forward. "I’m Xiang Hai of Black Wind Valley. Kid, looks like you haven’t found your companions yet. You can stick with us for now."
In their eyes, with Yi Xiaoyao’s low Cultivation and a kill order personally issued by the Cloud Transformation Sect’s Leader, it was practically impossible for him to survive in the Ancient Great Demon Tomb Space.
If they helped Yi Xiaoyao out a bit, they could build a better relationship with a major power like the Seven Kills Star Hall.
Yi Xiaoyao considered it. He knew that traveling with a group was much safer than going it alone, so he nodded and accepted their invitation.
The seven of them traveled together for some time. The surrounding mist grew thicker and thicker, until it was a complete whiteout beyond a hundred yards.
"This is no good. It’s too dangerous to continue when we can’t see the path. Who’s going to scout ahead?" Xiang Hai asked, frowning at the others.
In the next moment, Yi Xiaoyao frowned slightly, because everyone else had turned to look at him.
"Alright, Yi Xiaoyao, you go," Xiang Hai said as well.
A cold glint flashed in Yi Xiaoyao’s eyes, but it was gone in an instant.
"Don’t worry. If you run into any trouble, we’ll be right there," Xiang Hai said, noticing Yi Xiaoyao’s reluctance.
Yi Xiaoyao also wanted to get out of the fog as quickly as possible to find Luo Yi and the others, so he didn’t waste time arguing. Without a word, he walked straight into the mist.
As Yi Xiaoyao walked off, Xiang Hai and the others exchanged cold sneers. "That kid. We’re nice enough to let him tag along, and he thinks he can just do nothing."
Then, the six of them followed in Yi Xiaoyao’s direction.
Of course, Yi Xiaoyao knew what they were thinking. ’In a temporary alliance like this, no one truly sees anyone else as one of their own. That’s something everyone tacitly understands.’
After an unknown amount of time, Yi Xiaoyao suddenly sensed a faint wisp of Spiritual Qi, which surprised him.
’There is no Spiritual Power in this space at all, so where could this Spiritual Qi be coming from?’
At this thought, Yi Xiaoyao followed the trail of Spiritual Power and found a gnarled old tree. Dozens of crystalline fruits grew on its branches, and the Spiritual Qi he had sensed was radiating from them.
"Hidden Spirit Fruit?"
Yi Xiaoyao was taken aback. This kind of Spirit Fruit had long been extinct in the outside world; he never expected to see an entire tree here.
The effects of this Spirit Fruit were quite unique. Consuming just one Hidden Spirit Fruit could instantly replenish a person’s Spiritual Power completely.
In a place like the Ancient Great Demon Tomb Space, where it was impossible to replenish Spiritual Power, such an effect made it a practically divine item.
Just as Yi Xiaoyao was about to step forward and pick them, he heard the delighted cries of Xiang Hai and his men from behind.
"It’s actually Hidden Spirit Fruit!"
Soon, Xiang Hai and his five men rushed to the base of the old tree, their eyes gleaming as they stared at the Hidden Spirit Fruit.
Yi Xiaoyao’s brow furrowed. He was, of course, unwilling to share the incomparably precious Hidden Spirit Fruit with these men.
"Let’s split them evenly."
Yi Xiaoyao still made the offer, out of consideration for their temporary alliance.
But unexpectedly, Xiang Hai and his five men glanced at Yi Xiaoyao. "Split them evenly? Kid, you’re dreaming."
Yi Xiaoyao looked at them, his eyes narrowing. "What’s that supposed to mean?"
The men chuckled. "Yi Xiaoyao, we’re already doing you a favor by letting you follow us. Why would we split something as precious as the Hidden Spirit Fruit evenly? Naturally, we’ll be the ones to handle distribution."
"If you still want to follow us for protection, we’ll give you one. If you want to go off on your own, you can have two," Xiang Hai added. "We’re only offering this much out of consideration for the Seven Kills Star Hall. Otherwise, with your strength, you wouldn’t even get one."
Yi Xiaoyao couldn’t help but let out a sneer. He had been kind enough to offer an even split, but they had refused to take him up on it. It was utterly laughable.
"In that case, none of you will be getting any of these Hidden Spirit Fruits."
With that, Yi Xiaoyao swung his sword, felling the Spirit-Encompassing Fruit Tree. He then hoisted the tree onto his shoulder and shot back into the mist.
Xiang Hai and his men were stunned for a moment, then roared in fury. "Dammit! That ungrateful little bastard! After him!"
And so, cursing up a storm, the six men gave chase, pursuing Yi Xiaoyao into the fog.
