Chapter 504 A world ruined by Angels and demons…
Imperilment was a subplane, entirely different from a pocket space.
A pocketspace was a room anchored to a particular plane. It existed within the plane and was operated by the rules within the plane. Only that, it was like having a pocket in a pair of pants.
Thousands of these could be created as long as the individual was capable enough to do it.
A pocket space was that extra sewn-in pocket. This was why it was called a pocket space.
However, a subplane existed as a world of its own. Such places are usually ruled by their own set of rules. Many times, the normally accepted laws of physics are nonexistent or scarce in such worlds.
Other times, those laws have been perverted.
Either way, subspaces were capable of abhorring life. And this one was even blessed with a star, even though it is literally dying.
Duncan stepped forward toward Lenny.
In this place where danger looked to be around every corner, he looked very out of place with his bathrobes, but that did not matter.
He planned on being quick with this.
“I’ll go straight to the point, Lenny! I and Clawed can’t stay here for long. Our power level is beyond its peak existence in this world. Although it does not have enough foundational power like the middle planes to access the cosmic rule and outright kick us out, it is still strong enough to suppress us.
In fact, if not that clawed had dropped a rank from the first great demon realm to the sixth deep-level demon realm, after our father shot him with the arrow from the body of a rank 4 Hell beast, he would not have been able to enter this subspace.
Even now, it is exerting unbelievable pressure on both of us.”
As Duncan talked, Lenny could see that his veins looked to be on edge, fighting hard against an invisible pressure that Lenny could sense was there but could not see.
“The subplane does not want us here because of the rules of the cosmos, but it is not as strong as an actual plane like the eighth earth and therefore cannot prevent us from entering. However, it can make staying here a living hell!
This plane is a very special one, as it has a very special meaning to our family. It was on this plane that our father met his most valued treasure, which changed his destiny and broke his fate as an ordinary lesser demon.
Clawed is the reason we have access to it. His collection of certain treasures our father deemed to be useless is not bad, and many of them are items I would have killed him for before we got together.
Nevertheless, our ability to enjoy this particular one is lacking because of our power level. Any deeper into the plane, and we will be crushed.” Duncan sighed. “I’ll advise that you remember that many creatures have touched this land, including other demons and even angels!”
“Angels?” Lenny asked, his curiosity obviously aroused.
“Yes and yes! A certain treasure was here at one time, and the battle for it was not a very good one. The land has been excavated many times; even its star has not escaped the?invasion.”Duncan pointed to the sun, which had parts of itself peeled away like the skin of an orange.
“Demons did that?” Lenny asked in obvious surprise. After all, that was literally the sun.
Duncan nodded. “Trust me, the demon society is capable of even worse. But don’t get it wrong; it was the angels that did that.
“Nevertheless, I know that you are a reminder.”One who has inherited the memories of his ancestors, and that is why you did great in the arena when you were a gladiator. This means that there is nothing I can practically teach you that will be of much use to you.
Basically, all you need is within you. All we have to do is bring it out of you.”
Clawed suddenly smiled as he stepped forward. His towering height over Lenny was intimidating, but Lenny did not fidget. He threw the bony bracelet Duncan had used to open the portal to this subspace at him. “This is a subplane. Remember that the calendar here does not work like that of the Eighth Earth. For the actual difference, I am sure you can figure that part out on your own. Just make sure you get the Whistle Horn of the Hell Beast before it is time for the competition. If not, the bracelet won’t activate.”
“Wait a minute, you guys are leaving me here?” Lenny protested.
“Leaving you!? That’s a nice way to put it!” Clawed chuckled as he suddenly moved. His speed was nothing like Lenny had ever seen in his life.
And he had not even seen the kick as it landed right in the center of his chest.
*Boom!*
He flew an incredibly large distance into the air, like a missile that had been launched from its silo straight into the border wall of a floating island, instantly smashing into it.
His crash was accompanied by suddenly bashing through floral and into a beast that looked like it was made of steel, bursting through it with the force of his body, and then tumbling through its nest, crashing its eggs.
“What in the fucking HELL!”?Lenny cursed as he rolled on the ground.
He groaned a bit. That hit had been fierce, and he could feel the crack in his ribs as it made his lungs even tighter.
*Cough* Cough*
He coughed a bit as he got to his feet.
He wiped the blood from the side of his mouth. He looked far off into the distance.
Duncan waved at him from the distance as he walked back into the portal along with Clawed.
Instantly, the portal disappeared once they had gone in.
For a few seconds, Lenny paused, speechless, as to what had just happened.
One minute he was on earth, and the next he had been dumped into an entirely different world.
How things had flipped so suddenly greatly surprised him.
It was no wonder that Duncan had given him an entire day to relax.
It was because he had such a plan up his sleeve.
The worst part was that he had even been excited about the training, thinking maybe he was being granted the opportunity to learn more.
Lenny felt tricked, and a sudden surge of anger flooded his heart.
Just then, his sense of perception acknowledged the presence of other organisms around him.
Most of them were growling in anger over him. He had destroyed their nest and a member of their colony.
Lenny turned about at the sight of creatures that looked like prehistoric dinosaurs had collided headlong with giant insects, creating nightmarish hybrids that defied the laws of nature. Their scaly, armored bodies shimmered in the eerie light, their eyes glowing with a predatory hunger that sent chills down his spine. The air crackled with electricity, and the ground shook beneath their thundering footsteps.
His heart raced, but Lenny’s hands moved with the practiced grace of a warrior. Drawing his swords, their blades etched with runes that glowed with a sharp light, he stepped forward to meet the oncoming onslaught.
Each sword was a masterpiece, graceful and elegant in his gifted hands. .
The hybrid creatures charged, their roars blending with the buzz of insect wings, creating a cacophony that reverberated through the desolate landscape. Lenny’s eyes narrowed, his focus unwavering as he studied his adversaries.
With a swift motion, he lunged forward, and the runes on his swords blazed to life. The blades met their targets with a satisfying clash, sending sparks into the air.
Their skin was surprisingly hard steel, and it made each strike an annoying, reverberating feeling to bear.
He danced amidst the chaos, his movements a deadly ballet of steel and sorcery.
He was angry, and prey had just appeared for him to take advantage of.
His swords cleaved through the air, striking with precision and cutting through armored scales and chitinous exoskeletons. The creatures, though ferocious, were no match for the skill and determination that fueled Lenny’s every strike.
In the midst of battle, the world became a blur of motion. Lenny’s senses heightened, and his every instinct was honed to perfection. He parried a massive claw with one sword, then swiftly countered with a thrust that found its mark between the creature’s eyes. Another foe leaped at him, its insectile wings buzzing furiously. With a fluid motion, he sidestepped the attack and sliced through the creature’s abdomen, a spray of strange fluids marking his victory.
The battleground was a tapestry of chaos and courage. His swords sang through the air, their melodies of battle echoing across the dystopian landscape. With each strike, he pushed back the onslaught, his determination unwavering, his spirit unbroken.
As the last hybrid creature fell, its death cry fading into the distance, a momentary calm settled over the battlefield. Lenny stood amidst the fallen foes, his chest heaving with exertion, his swords still ablaze with the remnants of their unsettling blood.
He looked about him, and then he noticed the creatures he killed had started…
