Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau
Chapter 1044 - 490: Forced Into a Difficult Situation
Chapter 1044: Chapter 490: Forced Into a Difficult Situation
Evan Stetford watched as Abigail Henderson naturally walked alongside Kenneth Osborne carrying her suitcase. He rubbed his brow and refrained from stepping forward to help her with it.
Girls who grew up abroad might be more independent than those from home.
Carrying their own luggage is something they can do themselves without considering it a man’s task.
Of course, it might also be because having someone help you abroad generally involves paying a tip.
Lawrence Winters emerged from the master bedroom, leading Edward Foster to find him a room, and happened to see Kenneth Osborne, Abigail Henderson, and Evan Stetford approaching from the other side of the corridor.
Lawrence Winters quickly said, "Miss Henderson, where would you like to stay? Or you can have first choice."
Abigail Henderson said generously, "It’s just a place to sleep; I can stay anywhere here. Miss Winters, don’t worry. If you’re undecided, just flip a coin."
Lawrence Winters, never one to dawdle, replied bluntly, "Alright, how about you stay in the bedroom over here opposite Kenneth’s room? If you need to discuss anything, you can just open the door and call out."
Edward Foster hurriedly said, "What about me? Can I stay in the room next to yours?"
"The rooms next to mine are all occupied. You’ll stay in the room beside Miss Henderson’s," Lawrence Winters explained, leading him over. "The master bedroom your mom is in is right across, very convenient."
"Uh, can I stay in this room?" Edward Foster asked, eyeing the room opposite Lawrence Winters’ bedroom, then said with a quirky smile, "I don’t want to be under mom’s watch even on vacation..."
"Tsk, you know Mrs. Foster is very open-minded; don’t talk bad about her," Lawrence Winters teased him, pointing her finger. "Alright, as you wish."
Edward Foster peeked inside and immediately decided to stay in the room opposite Lawrence Winters’.
Abigail Henderson took the room opposite Kenneth Osborne’s.
They both stayed in the row of rooms on the north side of the corridor.
Lawrence Winters’ room was between Kenneth Osborne and Mrs. Foster, on the south side of the corridor.
Once everyone settled in, Mrs. Foster took the group to a nearby oriental restaurant for lunch.
For convenience, they took Evan Stetford’s extended Rolls Royce Phantom.
This car, without fussing about pomp and circumstance, could fit as many people as a minibus.
Everyone sat comfortably inside without feeling cramped.
Lawrence Winters sat by the window, observing the scenery outside, and commented with a smile, "The buildings here don’t match the beauty of the natural landscape."
The group laughed knowingly.
City infrastructure abroad has remained the same for decades, without any new constructions.
Asphalt roads are constantly under repair, and the pavement is uneven everywhere.
Lawrence Winters even spotted a tennis court with worn-out fencing and remnants of yellow-green tones, reminiscent of the 1980s.
The car swiftly arrived at the oriental restaurant pointed out by Mrs. Foster.
Restaurants abroad rarely have private rooms, except for those frequented by the Chinese, typically owned by someone from China, which occasionally offer such privacy.
Mrs. Foster was obviously familiar with the area and took them to a restaurant that surprisingly had private dining rooms.
Given their number and desire for undisturbed conversation, having a private room made for a more comfortable dining experience.
Entering the room, Lawrence Winters noticed the large-screen TV on the wall, streaming the Celestial Path Sect competition live!
Oh no, not live; the live broadcast was on the Celestial Path Sect app platform and had ended. It was now a replay on TV.
Lawrence Winters sat down eagerly, curious to see how she appeared on camera.
However, this replay didn’t show the scene where they were talking with Mrs. Fang, but rather the scene where Daoist Wang and Daoist Quan were talking with Miss Tang.
Miss Tang’s appearance was pixelated, and the camera mostly focused elsewhere or directly at Daoist Wang and Daoist Quan while she spoke.
Miss Tang’s home decor as the background was blurred, but the effect was well executed, resembling a close-up oil painting.
The vivid color blocks amassed, creating a layered effect. Only when viewed from a distance did the subject reveal itself.
This didn’t detract from the overall atmosphere of the broadcast, and it even highlighted the athletes’ profiles in a striking way.
Lawrence Winters watched with keen interest, casually ordering some scrambled eggs with shrimp and a salted fish and chicken casserole with eggplant, plus a frozen sweet double-skin milk dessert and coconut juice as a beverage.
