Chapter 1522 - 1522 Recovery
— Lily —
When Lily finally came to her body felt like a giant bruise. She tried to move around a bit, but she was trapped. A short panic later and Lily had remembered what happened and realised that she was being held by Kamiko. Still a bit worried, now mostly about the others, Kat reached out towards Kat but found that the link between them had slammed shut.
It was clearly still there, so Lily’s panic didn’t start up again, but the fact it was shut did not bode well.
Lily knocked hard on the door to try and get something out of Kat but ther was no reaction. Grumbling Lily tried to free herself… only to realise that Kamiko had grubbed onto her fur at some point. *Urgh. Can’t get out of here without ripping out a huge chunk of my hair. Dammit.
I need to know what’s going on!* Lily stretched her shadow outwards and tried waving around but that didn’t seem to get much of a reaction. Cursing internally Lily considerered her next course of action.
A few minutes passed, and Lily had come to no good conclusion but things were happening. Lily could see Hunter unraveling herself from the three of them in the centre. The movement was slow and accompanied by a pained hiss that did not signal good things. When Hunter was around half of the way unwound she just sort of collapsed onto the ground.
Lily still had her shadow out and was able to send it under Hunter’s head to catch her somewhat, but the rest of her body hit the ground hard, leading to more hissing.
This seemed to wake up Kamiko and Bower who winced and seperated slowly. Bower crouched down as he came too, placing a hand on Hunter’s scales only to get a hiss in return. That snapped Bower to full wakefullnmess, causing him to step backwards and away from Hunter this time.
Kamiko let Lily go and dropped to the ground, with a pained grunt… and with that Lily could finally take a proper look at everyone. Hunter was in bad condition. Her scales were grey and flacky with cracks running all along them, with a few spots where exposed muscle was visible.
This carried all the way up to her head which seemed more or less intact alongside the parts of her body that were facing inward.
Bower was doing alright… but he height had been a dissadvantage here. He’d been lucky enough to raise a hand up to block his eyes, but his elbow and upper arm looked much the same as Hunter, which was decidedly not in good condition. He’d not moved much since he regained motion.
Kamiko looked fine at first glance… until Lily noticced that she was missing a lot of her hair. Only her fringe and a few stray bits of loose hair had survived. Kamiko’s battle suit also bore a number of scars around the neck area but it seemed to have held up well enough to keep her from getting too injured. Lily transformed at this point and looked herslef over to find… she was mostly fine.
There were some small cuts on the sides of her arms but Lily was pretty sure she’d done that herself by not paying attention to her claws.
Lily sucked in a deep breath, not quite wanting to check, but knowing she had to. Poking her head slowly around Kamiko’s body Lily looked over at Kat. It was… not a pleasant sight and Lily had to move off to the side as bile rose in her throat. Even that once glance was more than enough to tell her why Kat had slammed the link shut.
The shield was nowhere in sight, Lily didn’t know if that meant it had been destroyed or if it had been blown away but it truly was the least of Lily’s concerrns right now. Looking over… Kat was just… missing a her back half. It had been ground down to just bone, and even then Lily wasn’t sure that all the bone reamined.
Lily could only hope that Kat’s regenerated was able to fix itself, but the damage seemed quite severe. Her midsection especially was not looking all that well, with exposed and damaged organs. Her wings were in horrible shape as well, they were just bone at this point, and while the skeletal structure of Kat’s wings was fascinating this is not the way Lily wanted to investigate it.
One session of vomitting later and Lily was looking at the otthers, pointedly trying not to keep Kat in her vision. The link, even shut, told her that Kat was awake and based on the fact she was here instead of being teleported out she was probably going to be fine. It really wasn’t something Lily had wanted to see though.
Swallowing down some spit and wincing at the taste Lily turned to the others and asked, “Are you guys alright? Do you need me to do anything?”
“I’m fine,” said Kamiko. “Well, I’m in a bit of pain and my hair is missing so I’m not exactly happy at the moment but I’ve got no serious injuries,” Kamiko shook her head a bit and looked at Hunter. “We’ll need to apply some ointment to Hunter’s scales and wrap it all up in some gauze. I don’t know if she’s got special requirements for us, or not but we should get on that.
I know enough about lamia’s to direct you. As for Bower…”
“I’ll be fine for a bit,” cut in the old man. “If it scars so be it. Got an amazing story out of this, and I can still move the arm so it’s not crippling,”
“Nonsense, we have some stuff for scales in our rings, take this,” said Kamiko summoning up a small tub of cream, some wrapping and a table to set them both on. “These should work well enough, it’s what I’ll be using on Hunter unless she has something else in mind.” Bower gave a greatful nod and got to work.
Hunter on the other hand was debating if it was worth transforming. She didn’t know how the injuries would transfer over but after a few moments of glaring from Kamiko, cracked. A moment after transforming she summoned a large barrel and said, “That’s the stuff for lamia scales and…” Hunter summoned a much smaller container to rest atop it, “that one is for the places with no scales anymore.
The real issue is you’ll need to clean everything off first and it’s going to hurt massively. I have been trained to remainn still while getting treated so it should be fine, but do be careful around my exposed muscle,”
Hunter transformed back as soon as she finished speaking. Her human torso was not doing well with much deeper wounds then it seemed like it should have. The area around Hunter’s head while in snake form was msotly free from damage but her human version? It was littered in small wounds and bright red like it had been sanded down.
Kamiko nodded and pulled out… a mop and bucket. Lily looked at that a bit oddly and Kamiko said, “No really this is considered medically standard. The water is treated of course, it’s not just tap water and I would never use this mop for anything else… but yes it’s a mop and bucket. Lamias are usually quite a bit larger then Hunter so this is necessary sometimes.

Now, if you want to help grab your own. Wait! No, hang on, need to set up a sling…”
Lily didn’t know what to do or so as Kamiko pulled out two large poles with U shaped indents on top, followed by four larger poles with rope between them. Kamiko drove each pole into the ground and then started to string up thin straps between the ropes. “Grab her tail and help my put Hunter on this contraption,”
Lily looked it over, and really that was enough to know what to do. Moving over Lily picked up Hunter’s back third, while Kamiko took most the weight. Hunter was quickly deposited but didn’t even hiss from the movement. Her jaw was shut tight though.
Kamiko summoned the mop bucket back and motioned for Lily to do the same. A quick search of her ring later and Lily found the correct items and… well that got to work. It was very strange washing down a lamia with a bucket of sterilised water. Hunter kept still and silent through the process, even when Kamiko went over the patches that were missing scales.
Once they’d done a rough clean, Kamiko produced two cleaning clothes, handed one off to Lily and started to clean thoroughly underneath all of the straps holding Hunter up, and Lily started helping not to long after that.
Of course, Lily was glancing at Kat this entire time but it was hard to tell if things were going well. Lily didn’t dare look at Kat properly, it was all just out of the corner of her eyes, and if anything was getting done? It certainly wasn’t being done fast.
Lily almost wanted to ask Kamiko for a suggestion, but she seemed so serious at the moment and Lily wanted to assume Kamiko knew what she was doing.
