Adrian teleported them across the ocean and they appeared above a small island shaped like a paw.

" This island belongs to the Felinal people, they’re introverted and not very welcoming to outsiders, let proceed with caution." Said Annie.

She surrounded them with a barrier of psionic esper turning them invisible and they descended.

Although the island was considered small, that was in comparison to other islands in Alguard.

In actuality, it had a diameter of more than 700 kilometres and was home to more than 60 million Felinal.

" I can’t sense anything but it’s quiet, eerily so." Whispered Adrian, he truly couldn’t smell anything.

Or rather, the only smell his nose could capture now were his own rotting organs and the overwhelming scent of sickness.

His was so strong that it overshadowed the sickness in the air but Annie could smell it clearly.

Her nose was not as strong as his but she was a werewolf, an Alpha werewolf with incredibly high senses.

" Pestilence was definitely here, possibly still is, be careful." They flew to the centre of the island.

There sat a mountain and atop the mountain was a palace, sitting in front of the palace was a cat woman.

A humanoid cat about the same height as a human but instead of paws she had hands covered in cat fur.

The woman looked up as soon as they appeared. Adrian activated his left eye, " It’s her."

Annie immediately retreated and strengthened the barrier around herself preventing any bacteria or viruses from effecting her.

But she has greatly underestimated Pestilence, Pestilence was the embodiment of sickness itself.

Annie felt a mind numbing pain assault her entire body, she scanned herself and saw her cells dividing endlessly.

’ Cancer, this bitch caused me to have cancer?’ then she started feeling her mind slipping away.

Pestilence was making her mind sick, a low growl escaped her lips. ’ No this is bad, I need to remove her influence.’

Her psionic lunar esper burnt the cancerous cells and sent a wave to her brain removing the brain cancer.

She took a deep breath and surrounded herself on thick psionic lunar esper, so thick it became visible, glowing around her like a jade lamp.

Adrian pointed at her and the authority of Pestilence was removed.

" You’re no fun." Said Pestilence, pouting.

" You’re not a passive as Famine are you?" Adrian asked, he remembered Famine did not go out of their way to do all this.

Pestilence smiled, " My sibling is a stick in the mud, I already explained this, no wait, that wasn’t you."

" Obviously unlike Famine you’re not operating based on instincts, your actions are deliberate.

So I don’t understand why you’re going out if your way to kill so many people." Said Adrian with murderous eyes.

" Those are scary eyes but I sense no anger in you, it seems killing these people doesn’t bother you does it?" Pestilence asked, Adrian did not answer.

" As for why I’m doing this? Well I can’t help it, even a tamed tiger still eat meat, I am Pestilence.

My very existence is sickness, I don’t have to do anything for everything around me to die."

Pestilence sounded sad, Adrian and Annie heard a bit of loneliness in her voice but they weren’t going to be fooled.

" Well it’s good that you came, I need a host, this one will not hold for much longer but that one behind you will do just fine." She pointed at Annie.

" Why her? Why not take me?" Adrian asked getting ever so closer to Pestilence but he was still more than 20 metres away from the 10 metres minimum distance.

" I don’t know." Answered Pestilence, " I don’t feel comfortable in the bodies of your kind.

Perhaps it’s the thing dangling between your legs or it’s your lacking immunity to my authority.

But something about possessing the males make me uncomfortable, perhaps I would’ve been female had I been mortal."

Adrian knew spirits type lifeforms had a sense of gender even without a physical form or even sex.

According to description, each spirit was more comfortable possessing a certain group.

" By the way, I can sense a piece of myself inside you so why are you still walking so freely?

Even for the heart of destruction, such tenacity is unbelievable, although it shouldn’t be enough to kill you.

Your organs should be melting as we speak yet you stand and speak as if you feel no pain." Pestilence sounded confused.

Adrian got within 15 metres of her and sighed, " Oh that, if you think melting my organs are enough to take me down, then you underestimate me."

He teleported behind her, Pestilence did not look surprised but when she tried to teleport she found herself unable to.

For the first time he saw a glimmer in her eyes. The magic circle appeared on his palm glowing with blinding golden light.

" I see, you received help from the mother of dreams, she’s always been a meddlesome one." Said Pestilence.

Pestilence reached out to grab Adrian, he tried to resist but her hand moved so fast he couldn’t even react.

It appeared to move slowly but that was an illusion, Pestilence gently touched his head then retreated.

Before Adrian could wonder what she did he felt a mind splitting headache. " AHHHHHH!"

He roared from the pain, blood leaked from his nose and tumours grew over his head like balls of flesh.

His entire face became deformed in a split moment. The tumours cut off his entire body from the brain.

Adrian was conscious but all actions from voluntary to involuntary down to the respiratory system stopped.

’ Damnit.’ His bones snapped and his skin split apart and silver fur grew all over his body, he transformed.

The tumours were burnt off and he regained control over his body but before he could attack her he felt himself losing strength again.

He scanned his body and saw countless viruses that have been hidden and slumbering inside him consume his body.

His immune system reacted, his lunar esper reacted but the viruses were too powerful and too numerous.

’ How long has she been planning this?’ Adrian wondered but he wasn’t about to let her go.

He ignored his pain and created a barrier surrounding both of them within 10 metres then threw up black sludge.

The disgusting sludge was so acidic it burnt through the ground, it was his blood mixed with melted organs.

Adrian took a deep breath then opened his silver glowing eyes and growled like a wolf raging beast.

He said no words but his message was clear even to one such as Pestilence.
