Demon Slayer: Rise of The First Werewolf
Chapter 331: Hope For Victory
" Purgatory is boring, I can’t bear staying there any longer, bind me to yourself and I can remain in this mortal realm.
Do this and I’ll fulfill all your other requests for low prices." The fairy explained.
" I’m confused, I thought fairies lived in the fairy realm, why would you be living in purgatory?" Annie asked.
" Fairy? Oh right, that’s what those children are called, I’m not a fairy, in a sense, I’m a...hard to describe.
I suppose an origin of dreams, I was called the sand maiden during the first Genesis, I got into a fight with some bastard once.
I lost two of my six wings and those two wings turned into two children, the first fairies." The fairy explained.
" The fairy king and queen." Whispered Meggie. " Alright back to the topic, how will you help us trap Pestilence?"
Meggie asked, dragging the conversation back before it deviated even further. The fairy mother ( That’s what she’ll be called.) smiled.
" As a being of origin law, I cannot operate freely in this realm, if Pestilence dreamed, things would’ve been easier.
However there is a way, I’m not just a beautiful dream goddess but a master of magic as well.
After all, all magic is born of dreams, I’ll think of something, give me a bit of time." She answered.
" Alright, take as much time as you need." Meggie stood up to make snakes.
" Done." She had barely taken a step when the fairy mother called out. Both Meggie and Annie gave her strange looks.
" That was quick." Said Annie.
" It was? You’ll have to forgive me, I’m not quite used to the flow of time in the mortal realm."
The fairy mother just sounded like she was bragging to the two women. " Okay, what do you have?" Meggie asked.
" A magic spell, if you want to take down Pestilence you need to inject that potion of yours into them right?"
’ How much does this woman know?’ Annie wondered.
" A lot." The fairy mother answered.
Annie was not even surprised nor offended that she read her thoughts. " Okay, so what does the magic spell do?" She asked.
The fairy mother waved her little hand and a complicated magic circle from a school of magic even Meggie couldn’t recognise appeared.
" This...what kind of magic is this? Are those runes? They look so different from the runes I know.
And these patterns, so many of them, so many layers, I can’t even count them." Meggie got too excited.
" Mrs Lunar please calm down." Annie grabbed her and pulled her back before she tried to take the magic circle.
" That’s Primordial magic, the first form of magic to exist, not in the mortal realm as that would theurgy magic, it’s the first magic in existence.
Impressive isn’t it, I can teach it to you in exchange for your soul." The fairy mother offered with a small smile.
Meggie was about to agree when Annie closed her mouth. " She’ll pass, please explain what the magic circle does."
The fairy mother puffed into a full human size but her appearance didn’t change otherwise.
" The spell is simple, just Imprint it on Pestilence’s host’s body, they will then be bound to that host." She answered.
" That’s the issue though, Pestilence’s reaction is too fast, if we could get that close to them Adrian would’ve shoved this potion down their throats already." Argued Annie.
" I know, I accounted for that, get within 10 metres and Pestilence will be temporarily bound.
However that will last for...mmm, this time thing is confusing." She started counting with her fingers.
Annie just sighed in disappointment, ’ She can read minds, tell time has been altered, use dream magic but she can’t tell time.’
" Hey, it’s not my fault you mortals like to complicate things, besides, I’ve learnt it already, because I’m amazing.
Pestilence will temporarily be trapped inside their host’s for 5 seconds, in that time, they’ll also be unable to teleport away.
If you can’t bind them in those five seconds, that’s on you."
" Thank you." Annie reached out to grab the magic circle. The fairy mother slapped her hand away.
" Our deal first, one of you bind me to yourself."
Meggie volunteered with perhaps too much enthusiasm. Annie sighed, took the magic circle and left.
" Thank you, I’ll tell Adrian you said high." She wished them goodbye and flew off.
" Wait, I forgot to tell her Adrian should watch out for the angels." Whispered Meggie. " I guess I’ll tell her next time."
------------------------------------------
Annie went back to the human world and found Adrian still where she had left him, he looked bored out of his mind.
Annie explained everything to him and saw relief in his eyes. ’ The pain must really be intense.’
She scanned him again and realised how bad the situation really was, his organs were liquifying.
His regeneration healed them back only for it to happen again, the only organ he bothered to keep safe was the heart.
Regenerating the heart took too much time and he didn’t have the energy or strength to focus on them all.
Annie felt a pang of pain in her heart, " Should we go?" She asked, barely hiding the anxiety in her voice.
She hated seeing him in this state, there was a sense of weakness in his eyes, something she couldn’t bear to watch.
Adrian was her pillar, a mountain that could hold any falling sky, even though it was obvious he was trying to show her that front.
She was able to easily see through it. He stood up but almost lost his step, " Let’s go." He took her hand and they disappeared.
Finding Pestilence again was not easy, the entire world was almost covered in their authority now.
Plus seeing through their host was not easy either. So Adrian relied on his left eye to read the patterns.
The host would have more complicated patterns of Pestilence’s authority than just those who were sick.
Even with that, days passed without seeing a glimpse of Pestilence. " Perhaps they’re no longer here." Annie suggested.
Adrian nodded, " We’ve need focusing too much on the human world, it’s possible Pestilence is in Alguard now."
He ripped open a hole to Alguard and they flew through, then restarted their search and less than three days later received a clue, they received a pack call from Athi.
’ It seems a small island kingdom north just perished overnight, everybody died of some kind of sickness.
Others killed themselves in what can only be described as extreme suicidal behaviour, it feels unnatural.’
Athi explained through pack call, ’ Thank you Athi but I thought I made it clear everybody should return to the pack.
CLOSE the borders and don’t let anybody in and out, so how did you come across this information?’ Annie asked.
’ There are many ways to remotely obtain information big lady, anyways I’m off, you and the boss be careful, this thing seems messy.’
Athi cut off the pack call. Annie sighed, " She’s definitely out there."
