Chapter 106: Chapter 106:

Chapter 106:

"Well, I’m not exactly in the mood to drag this out, so let’s end it here." Osborne said, then snapped his fingers.

The next moment, Vanessa emerged right next to him.

Her sudden appearance caused the remaining wolves to freeze.

She was still in her werewolf form, her large body covered in white fur, with sharp claws extending from her fingers and her fangs clearly visible whenever she opened her mouth.

The Alpha wolf immediately stepped backward.

The other seven wolves that were still recovering from Osborne’s Fireballs also noticed her.

Their bodies tensed.

They had already encountered a strange human who could use powerful magic, but now another creature had suddenly appeared beside him without warning.

The wolves could not understand where she had come from.

More importantly, they could sense the danger coming from her body.

Vanessa was a werewolf.

Even in her weakened state, the natural presence of another Alpha-level demon was enough to make the demonic beasts uneasy.

The Alpha wolf’s ears lowered.

Its beastly eyes remained fixed on Vanessa.

Vanessa, however, paid almost no attention to the wolves.

Instead, she immediately turned toward Osborne.

"You called for me."

She lowered herself onto one knee and bowed before him.

Osborne looked down at her.

He had expected her to follow his command, but seeing how quickly she obeyed still pleased him.

It seemed that keeping Vanessa alive had not been such a bad decision after all.

He had originally kept her because she might prove useful.

Now, she was about to demonstrate exactly how useful she could be.

"Deal with them." Osborne waved his hand dismissively toward the wolves.

Vanessa slowly raised her head.

Her eyes shifted toward the demonic beasts, a cold glint flashing briefly.

She did not ask why he wanted them dead, nor did she question why he had summoned her.

She simply stood up.

To Vanessa, there was no reason to question Osborne’s decision.

She believed he was more than capable of dealing with these creatures himself.

If he had summoned her, then there had to be a reason.

She only needed to complete the task he had given her.

’Master is giving me a chance to prove myself again.’ She’d long since grown accustomed to addressing him as such to herself within the sub-space.

Vanessa’s claws slowly extended.

’I can’t possibly let him down.’ She did not want to think about what would happen if Osborne lost interest in her.

After spending so long trapped inside that strange space, she had already learned what it meant to be completely alone.

The silence.

The inability to escape.

The constant feeling that she had been abandoned.

She had no desire to experience anything similar again.

If proving her usefulness meant tearing these beasts apart, then she would do exactly that.

Vanessa took a step forward.

Realising it couldn’t bargain with this creature which looked similar to its kin.

The Alpha wolf immediately reacted.

Its instincts had already screamed at it that this creature was dangerous, and the demonic beast opened its mouth.

Electricity began gathering between its fangs.

Blue sparks danced around its teeth before growing brighter.

In a split second, the Alpha wolf fired.

A powerful electric charge shot toward her.

WHOOSH!

The attack struck Vanessa directly.

A violent explosion erupted.

Dust, dirt, and pieces of broken vegetation were thrown into the air.

Smoke quickly rose from the ground, covering Vanessa from sight.

The remaining wolves watched carefully.

The Alpha wolf remained in place, its mouth still crackling with electricity.

For a moment, it seemed as though the attack had succeeded.

Then something moved inside the smoke.

The Alpha wolf’s ears suddenly twitched.

A shadow appeared.

WHOOSH!

Vanessa burst out of the smoke.

Her body shot through the air.

The electric attack had not stopped her.

She moved directly toward the Alpha wolf.

The seven weakened wolves were between them, but Vanessa simply leaped over them.

Her body passed above the injured creatures before she landed directly in front of the Alpha wolf.

The ground cracked slightly beneath her feet.

The Alpha wolf’s eyes widened.

It realised immediately that there was no longer enough distance between them to fire another electric attack.

It couldn’t retreat.

The wolf reacted with its instincts.

It lunged forward.

Its jaws opened wide as it attempted to bite Vanessa.

Vanessa’s expression did not change.

Her arm swung horizontally.

BAM!

Her palm slammed into the side of the wolf’s face.

The force behind the strike was incredible. Pound for pound, they were roughly the same size, and while both were Alphas, unlike the demonic beast, werewolves gained far more benefits from such titles. Increased abilities were one of them.

The Alpha wolf’s body was knocked sideways and slammed into the ground.

Before it could recover, Vanessa was already above it.

She grabbed the beast by the head.

Then she pressed its face directly into the dirt.

The wolf struggled violently.

Its claws dug into the ground as it attempted to pull itself free.

Vanessa’s strength prevented it from moving.

Her muscles tightened.

Her claws dug into the wolf’s fur, causing it to let out a hurt cry.

Then Vanessa opened her mouth.

A deep roar echoed out.

"ROOOOOAAARR!"

The sound shook the surrounding forest.

The roar wasn’t simply loud.

It carried the pressure of an Alpha.

The Alpha wolf’s body stiffened.

For a brief moment, its mind seemed to shake under the force of Vanessa’s presence.

Its instincts were telling it to submit.

Its body wanted to lower itself before the stronger Alpha.

But the wolf resisted.

Its claws continued digging into the ground.

A deep snarl escaped its throat.

It refused to surrender.

"Grrrrrrrr!!!!"

Lightning suddenly began crackling across its body.

Vanessa’s eyes widened slightly.

Electricity traveled through the wolf’s fur before spreading toward her hands.

The next moment, the current reached Vanessa.

Her body jerked.

"Graah!" Vanessa groaned.

The electricity surged through her arms and into the rest of her body, lighting her up.

She continued pressing the Alpha wolf into the dirt, pushing even more, but the beast refused to stop.

Its fur stood on end as more and more electricity discharged from its body.

The ground around them began to shake slightly from the constant energy.

Vanessa’s muscles tightened uncontrollably.

The electricity was running through her entire body.

She gritted her fangs.

The attack was painful. Far more painful than she had expected.

Her body had still not fully recovered.

Months of imprisonment inside the sub-space had left her considerably weaker than she had been before.

She had spent a long period with little food, little movement, and almost no stimulation.

Even after Osborne gave her food and allowed her to move again, she had not yet returned to her former strength.

Normally, an attack like this would not have been enough to force her into such a state.

But now, every surge of electricity was doing serious damage.

Vanessa’s claws trembled.

Her grip weakened slightly.

The Alpha wolf noticed this. Its will became even stronger, and with hope shining before it, it chose to push harder.

Electricity continued pouring from its body.

Vanessa’s muscles shook.

For a moment, it looked as though the wolf might escape.

Then Vanessa gritted her fangs.

"There’s no way I’m losing to a mutt like you!" Vanessa glared at the demonic beast, her eyes bloodshot, coupled with her natural crimson alpha eyes, she looked even more ferocious.

She tightened her grip again.

She refused to let go.

The Alpha wolf snarled, while Vanessa stared down at it.

Both Alphas could see the unrelenting will behind each other’s gaze.

She could feel the electricity running through her body.

The pain constantly threatening to drive her insane, while she felt her muscles struggling to respond.

But she also remembered Osborne’s words.

Her master had asked for nothing more than to deal with these creatures, which was why she chose to defeat their leader first.

If she couldn’t even do this much, then how could she bear to stand before him with her head held up?

That was all he had asked.

She had been given another chance and she refused to waste it.

Vanessa raised her other arm, under the exertion of the electric shock.

Her muscles tensed uncontrollably.

Electricity continued running through her body.

Her arm shook as she forced it upward.

The Alpha wolf noticed what she was doing.

Its eyes widened, but it was too late.

Vanessa’s fist came down.

BAM!

Her fist struck the side of the wolf’s skull.

The impact shook the beast’s entire body.

Its head was pushed deeper into the dirt.

The electricity around its body flickered for a moment.

But Vanessa wasn’t done. As if pushed to the brink, she raised her fist again.

BAM!

Another punch landed.

The Alpha wolf choked from the dirt as its face was smeared against the earth.

Vanessa continued to release one attack after the other.

The ground beneath them cracked.

The wolf attempted to move, but Vanessa didn’t allow it.

Dishing out another blow.

BAM!

Then another!

Each strike carried the strength of her werewolf body.
