Chapter 104: Chapter 104:

Chapter 104:

The next moment, two wolves suddenly rushed forward from the front.

At almost the exact same time, another two wolves charged from behind.

Osborne’s eyes widened slightly.

’Four at once?’

The wolves moved with surprising coordination, clearly intending to attack him from both directions and prevent him from escaping.

Their paws slammed against the ground as they rushed toward him, their bodies moving much faster than ordinary wolves.

Osborne didn’t hesitate.

He bent his knees before pushing himself off the ground.

His body shot upward.

The four wolves passed underneath him, their jaws snapping shut at the exact location where he had been standing only a moment earlier.

Their sharp teeth closed together with enough force to make Osborne’s expression become serious.

If he had remained there, those jaws would have torn through his armor.

Osborne continued rising through the air.

For a brief moment, he thought he had successfully avoided their attack.

However, all four wolves suddenly raised their heads.

Osborne’s pupils constricted.

Something strange was happening inside their mouths.

Small sparks began appearing between their teeth.

The sparks quickly grew brighter.

Blue-white lightning started crackling inside their open jaws, traveling from one tooth to another before gathering around their mouths. ℯ

While it sounded slow, all this was happening in almost an instant.

"....So that’s their ability." Osborne’s expression changed.

He had expected the demonic beasts to possess some kind of special ability, but he hadn’t expected all four of them to have the same one. Honestly, he expected something to do with moonlight, not actually lightning.

The wolves opened their jaws wider.

Electricity gathered inside their mouths.

Osborne immediately reacted.

His hand whipped his sword forward.

Aura rushed through his body and flowed into the blade.

A faint layer of aura covered the silver blade, making it shine with a sharp light.

He had barely finished coating the weapon when the wolves attacked.

Four electric charges were fired toward him at the same time.

The attacks tore through the air.

Osborne’s eyes widened.

He was still in midair, leaving him with almost no room to dodge.

His sword moved in front of his body.

The four electric charges collided with the aura-coated blade.

BOOM!

A powerful shockwave exploded through the air.

"...?!!!"

Osborne’s pupils constricted.

The force behind the attack was far greater than he had expected.

His aura resisted the electricity for only a brief moment before the combined strength of the four attacks overwhelmed it.

The electric charges slammed into his body.

His muscles tightened violently.

A powerful current traveled through his armor, causing his entire body to shake.

Osborne gritted his teeth.

’Too strong!’

His aura had been enough to block the attacks from the weaker beasts he had encountered earlier, but these demonic beasts were clearly on another level.

He couldn’t hold them back.

The force of the combined attack sent his body flying backward.

He was thrown through the air before crashing heavily into the ground.

BOOM!

The impact created a small depression beneath his body.

Dust and pieces of dirt flew into the air.

Smoke slowly began rising from his armor.

Osborne remained on the ground for several seconds.

His fingers twitched.

The electric current was still lingering through his body.

He slowly pushed himself up with one arm.

The metal of his armor was still smoking.

He looked down at himself.

The armor had protected him from the physical damage of the attack, but it had also conducted the electricity directly through his body.

He had experienced almost the full force of the attack.

’So much for defence.’ He let out a quiet laugh.

Osborne slowly raised his head. That attack was strong, but it would take a whole lot more than that to shake his will.

The wolves were already moving.

They were quietly surrounding him once more.

Their bodies moved through the trees without making much noise, each one taking a position around him.

Their fangs bared as if trying to intimidate him into defeat.

The fact that he withstood their combination attack told them that the intruder in front of them definitely wasn’t one to be taken lightly.

Their eyes remained fixed on him.

Osborne looked around.

There were eight wolves in total.

Each one was watching him carefully.

None of them rushed forward immediately.

Instead, they waited for a potential opening to finish him with as little fallback as possible.

Osborne stared at them from beneath his helm.

A helpless laugh escaped him.

"So that’s how it is." He slowly rose to his feet.

His armor creaked slightly as he moved.

The wolves’ gazes squinted coldly.

Osborne tightened his grip around his sword.

He had already understood something important.

If he tried fighting them with aura alone, he would lose.

His aura was strong, especially compared to ordinary adventurers, but he had just experienced the combined attack of only four of these wolves.

There were eight of them.

If all eight attacked him at once, he couldn’t guarantee that his aura would protect him.

And there was another problem.

He didn’t know how much electricity they could produce.

If they could continue firing attacks like the one before without tiring, then trying to fight them head-on would be nothing more than suicide.

Osborne looked at the wolves.

All eight of them had vicious looks on their faces.

Their bodies were tense.

Their claws dug into the ground as they prepared to attack again.

Osborne’s eyes narrowed.

’I’m going to have to use magic.’

He didn’t like the idea.

He had deliberately avoided using magic during his adventurer work because magic was much more unusual than aura.

A knight using aura was normal.

A knight suddenly using magic was not.

If anyone saw him using several spells at once, they might start asking questions about where he learned magic and who exactly he was.

That could eventually lead back to the Bismarck family.

However, hiding his magic was meaningless if he died because he was too afraid to use it.

Osborne raised one hand.

Mana began flowing through his body.
