Chapter 82: Chapter 82: Zhu Xiu’s Killing Intent

Aunt Lu looked utterly confused, staring at the males at the door. "You’re not from the tribe..."

Before she could finish, Bai Wanwan had already rushed out, her face alight with a joyful surprise.

"Xin Feng, Zhu Xiu..."

She dashed past Chou Rong to the two males, pulling them around to inspect them from every angle.

"Are you hurt?"

She held onto them both, examining them closely with concern.

Xin Feng, afraid she would worry, smiled and explained first, "Just a few minor injuries. They’ll heal quickly."

Bai Wanwan pressed her lips together. "You’re lying, aren’t you? Yin Da attacked you with so many Beastmen. How could they be just minor injuries?"

Xin Feng glanced at Zhu Xiu, a shadow still lingering in his heart. If it weren’t for Zhu Xiu, they wouldn’t have escaped so easily.

But it was also because of Zhu Xiu that he himself had nearly failed to escape.

"If you don’t believe me, keep checking."

Half-convinced, Bai Wanwan turned to Zhu Xiu. "What about you? Yin Da hated you so much. Would he have let you go so easily?"

Zhu Xiu glanced at Chou Rong, who stood behind her, then wrapped an arm around the young female’s waist as if declaring his sovereignty.

"He wouldn’t let me go, and I wouldn’t let him go. Yin Da is dead. You don’t need to worry anymore."

Bai Wanwan froze for a moment, then her eyes widened. "Yin Da is dead? How did he die? Did you kill him?"

Xin Feng remained silent. ’To be precise, Zhu Xiu had single-handedly slaughtered all the Wandering Beastmen.’

Zhu Xiu gave a nonchalant "mhm." "Without Yin Da and Shi Sen, the Wandering Beast City no longer exists. From now on, no one will know your identity."

Hearing this, the weight on Bai Wanwan’s heart finally lifted.

’She had been worried that if so many Wandering Beasts knew she was a Holy Female, the secret would spread. Then she’d be like a walking cake, attracting every passing insect that caught her scent.’

’Would she ever have a peaceful day again?’

"Wanwan, who is he?"

Zhu Xiu, still holding her waist, took two steps to face Chou Rong directly. Their gazes clashed.

"He’s the Father Beast of the tiger cubs."

A faint flicker of killing intent flashed in the red glow of Zhu Xiu’s eyes.

Chou Rong, always perceptive, noticed it immediately. A cold smirk played on his lips as he averted his gaze.

"Bai Wanwan, now that they’re here, it’s time for me to leave with the cubs."

After speaking, Chou Rong turned and walked back into the stone house.

Bai Wanwan immediately pulled away from Zhu Xiu and hurried after him.

But Chou Rong was faster. He scooped up the cubs and placed them in a basket lined with animal hide.

Unaware that they were about to be separated from their Mother, they were frolicking inside, bellies up.

Bai Wanwan was extremely reluctant to see them go. She grabbed the basket and looked at Chou Rong. "Let me see them one more time."

The female suddenly drew close, her soft body brushing against him as she snatched the basket away.

The moment Bai Wanwan put her hand into the basket, the cubs started nibbling her fingers, WHIMPERING playfully as they did.

Counting the month-plus she had been pregnant, she had bonded with her cubs for a total of three months.

’Her heart truly ached to part with her fluffy, adorable cubs.’

"You have to take good care of them. If you can’t manage, you must bring them back to me."

Chou Rong looked down at her and saw tears glistening in the corners of her eyes. He tugged at the basket but couldn’t move it; the young female was clutching it tightly, refusing to let go.

He didn’t pull any harder. ’I can give her a little more time.’

During this time, his gaze drifted between her and the cubs.

’Maybe Aunt Lu was right. She could be a good Mother.’

Behind them, Zhu Xiu stared at Chou Rong standing beside Bai Wanwan, the killing intent in his eyes growing stronger.

"You can take them now!"

Steeling her heart, Bai Wanwan pulled her hand back and quickly thrust the basket into Chou Rong’s hands.

The cubs hadn’t yet realized what was happening. Seeing their Mother suddenly stop playing with them, they bounced and hopped in the basket.

After a final glance down, Chou Rong covered the basket with the animal hide and turned back to Bai Wanwan. "Thank you."

He had been prepared to argue and fight with Bai Wanwan for them, but she didn’t cause a scene. Despite her reluctance, she had given the cubs to him.

"Aunt Lu, I’m leaving. Bai Wanwan has her Beast Husbands to look after her, so you don’t need to worry so much."

"Huh? It’s already dark. Are you leaving now?"

"Yes, right now."

With that, Chou Rong took the basket and walked out of the stone house. As he passed Zhu Xiu, the two males’ eyes met once more.

Chou Rong quickly looked away and walked past Bai Wanwan’s two Beast Husbands.

He understood Xin Feng well enough; the male wasn’t one to fight or compete.

’But Zhu Xiu, the second-in-command of the Wandering Beast City... would he so easily share Bai Wanwan with other males?’

’The killing intent in his eyes moments ago said it all.’

’Unless Bai Wanwan’s future Beast Husbands are powerful enough, otherwise...’

’But none of that had anything to do with him anymore.’

Once Chou Rong left, Bai Wanwan felt a little awkward facing Aunt Lu. After all, her only connection to Aunt Lu was through Chou Rong.

Chou Rong wasn’t her Beast Husband, and now her two actual Beast Husbands had shown up.

"Aunt Lu, we don’t have a place to go right now. We’d like to stay in the tribe. Could you put in a word with the Clan Leader for us? We’re willing to trade resources."

Aunt Lu snapped out of her thoughts and nodded. "If you don’t mind that it’s small, there’s a stone house next to ours. You can stay there for now. After I speak with the Clan Leader tomorrow, you can move."

"That works. Thank you, Aunt Lu."

Aunt Lu personally led the three of them to the stone house next door before heading home, glancing back every few steps.

’Her mind was filled with questions. Zhuo Ling was the most outstanding female in their tribe, and her four Beast Husbands were the most dazzling males in the tribe.’

’But her four males were nothing compared to Wanwan’s Beast Husbands.’

’Was Bai Wanwan really just a Cat Beastman?’

’Her two males each seemed more outstanding than the last, and that child, Chou Rong, had changed because of her, too.’

’In the past, Chou Rong’s eyes held only hatred. He never wanted to form a partnership or have his own offspring.’

’But this time, he’d actually had four cubs with Bai Wanwan and clearly valued them immensely.’

Shaking her head, she slowly returned to her own home.

The stone house next to Aunt Lu’s was indeed tiny. It was just a single room, and with her and two tall males inside, it felt incredibly cramped; just standing up and walking a little made it easy to bump into one another.

The room was tidied, the bedding laid out.

Bai Wanwan took out some food.

"You must be hungry. Eat something first."

The words had barely left her mouth when Zhu Xiu pulled her into his arms.

"That male from today... you don’t plan on forming a partnership with him?"

She still wasn’t completely used to this embrace, but she didn’t reject it.

"Mhm, he’s just the Father Beast of my cubs. We won’t be forming a partnership."

Her words made Zhu Xiu’s expression relax completely.

’That male had even taken Wanwan’s first litter of cubs.’

’Once Wanwan gives birth to this litter for Xin Feng, she’ll have the energy to give him another one.’

Bai Wanwan poked him. "Let’s eat first. After we eat, we should rest early. I’m a little tired."

Zhu Xiu had just overused his Talent Power and hadn’t fully recovered, so he didn’t say much more to Bai Wanwan.

After eating the meat, he changed into his beast form and curled up by the door.

Bai Wanwan turned to look at Xin Feng, who had been gazing at her all along, his eyes full of warmth. "Wanwan..."
