Chapter 549: Chapter 546: Send-off

At his words, the fear in the cubs’ eyes indeed dissipated, replaced by a sense of worship and reassurance in the power of their "Red Rank Father Beast."

And the few oldest cubs, who had already decided to go out and gain experience, exchanged glances. It seemed like a good time to make their request.

The eldest tiger cub, a young teen, mustered his courage and turned an expectant gaze to Bai Wanwan. "Mother... our younger brothers and sisters have been born safely. Can we... can we prepare to leave and see the outside world now?"

The other half-grown teens all nodded in agreement, their eyes shining with irrepressible excitement and longing.

Bai Wanwan looked at the rekindled light in her children’s eyes, then at Yan Lie beside her, his face a mess of scratches, at Zhu Xiu behind her, his aura still chilling, and at her other Beast Husbands who stood silently by with gentle gazes...

’She sighed softly in her heart.’

She knew the rules of this Beastman World were completely different from what she was used to. The cubs had to learn independence and face the storms of life much earlier.

She had done her best to protect them for long enough. It was time to let them go and spread their wings.

She took a deep breath and finally nodded, a gentle yet reluctant smile on her face. "Alright. I promised you. You can leave whenever you want."

But she knew the outside world was fraught with danger. Just having Beastmen protecting them in secret wasn’t enough.

She called the calmest and most precocious tiger cub forward and instructed him carefully, "On this trip, your safety is the top priority. If you encounter danger, survival comes first. Understand?"

The young tiger cub nodded emphatically, his golden eyes filled with sincerity. "Mother, don’t worry. I’ll protect my younger brothers."

Only then did Bai Wanwan cautiously retrieve two items from her System Space.

One was a few small but fully packed pouches of ointment. "There are two types of ointment in here. The smaller ones are for treating life-threatening injuries—use them sparingly. The larger ones can be used for common wounds."

After the tiger cub took the ointment, Bai Wanwan solemnly placed a strangely shaped "laser gun" that gleamed with a cold, metallic light into his hands.

She lowered her voice. "This is called a ’laser gun.’ It’s something that can save your life in a critical moment. Look here. Aim it at the enemy and press this raised part hard. It will shoot a powerful beam of light that can instantly injure or even kill an enemy. But remember, its energy is limited. It can only be used ten times. Do not use it lightly unless it’s a matter of life and death, understand?"

The young tiger cub curiously examined the heavy weapon in his hands. Although he didn’t understand how it worked, his Mother’s serious expression told him this was no small matter.

He carefully tucked it away with the ointment into the Beast Skin Bag he wore close to his body and nodded solemnly. "Mother, I’ll remember! I won’t use it unless it’s the most dangerous moment!"

"Okay, Mother. I’ve noted it all down. Can we leave today?"

’Seeing their expectant eyes,’ she thought, ’there was no point in holding them back for a few more days. Since they had to leave sooner or later, and I’ve already given them the supplies...’

Watching her eldest son put the items away, Bai Wanwan felt a little more at ease. She gave each of the cubs a tight hug.

"Go on. Go experience the world, and then come back safely."

The cubs happily went to find their Father Beast, Chou Rong, planning to set off after informing him.

Bai Wanwan reluctantly tore her gaze away and turned to Zhu Xiu. "What about the snake cubs? Why haven’t I seen them?"

Snakes were naturally cold-blooded, solitary animals, not to mention they were King Cobras.

Several months ago, Zhu Xiu had already sent his first litter of cubs out to train. Even the younger ones were hunting for prey on their own nearby.

He hadn’t summoned them back, but they could sense each other. He knew they were all still alive and well.

"Don’t worry, I’ll send them a message. They’ll go and meet up with their brothers then."

After speaking, he fixed his gaze on the female. "Were you protecting Yan Lie just now to anger me?"

’She knew she couldn’t avoid this topic.’ She coughed lightly and took his hand. "Don’t overthink it. You know my constitution is different from other females. The reason I’m in such a hurry is that I want to save up more Points to upgrade the Talents of you and the cubs. With enough Points in hand, I’ll have a way to deal with whatever might happen in the future."

The gloom in Zhu Xiu’s eyes slowly dissipated. A few of the Beast Husbands were about to escort Bai Wanwan back inside with the cubs.

Just then, two male members of the Tiger Clan came rushing towards them with anxious expressions. Seeing Bai Wanwan, they quickly stopped to bow and greet her.

Seeing their anxious expressions, Bai Wanwan gently stopped them and asked, "You look so worried. Did something happen in the tribe?"

The male, upon being asked, immediately replied, "It’s... It’s the females Qian Hong and Bai Zhi! They’re fighting! They’re in the clearing up ahead, and no one can pull them apart! Both of them have high fertility, so if this gets out of hand, it’ll be hard to handle. That’s why we came to find the Clan Leader and ask him to take a look!"

"Chou Rong isn’t home, but... I can go take a look."

"But the fight over there is intense. You might get hurt if you go." The key point was their fear that the matter wouldn’t be resolved.

"It’s fine. I’ll go have a look."

’Chou Rong already had enough major affairs to deal with every day, from tribal defense and hunt allocation to diplomacy with other tribes. Each and every matter was mentally taxing. If he had to personally run over to mediate every internal squabble, wouldn’t he collapse from exhaustion?’

’Perhaps I should establish some rules, write them out clearly, and have them follow them. It would save a lot of trouble.’

The two males looked troubled. Xin Feng, beside Bai Wanwan, said gently, "Don’t worry. We are here to protect her. There’s no need to inform the Clan Leader. We will find a way to resolve this."

Since the two Tiger Clan males couldn’t find Clan Leader Chou Rong at the moment, and Bai Wanwan was accompanied by several powerful Beast Husbands, they had no choice but to nod and say, "Alright, please follow us."

The two males led the way, and Bai Wanwan followed behind them at a brisk pace.

Before they even reached the scene, they could hear sharp curses and the voices of the onlooking Beastmen trying to break it up.

Pushing through the crowd, they saw two females grappling with each other in the clearing. It was a rather messy scene.

One had her hair pulled into a mess, with several bloody scratches on her cheek. The other’s Beast Skin Skirt was torn, and her arm was bleeding as well.

Their respective Beast Husbands beside them seemed to want to step in and break up the fight, but were constrained by the rule that they couldn’t use force against females. They were pacing anxiously, able only to use their bodies to try and separate them, and ended up getting a few scratches on their own faces in the process.

"Stop!" Bai Wanwan shouted, raising her voice.

However, the two, whose eyes were red with fury, only paused for a moment. They glanced at her, seemingly unimpressed by this suddenly-appeared, delicate-looking female, and were about to lunge at each other again, panting.
