Chapter 529: Chapter 526: Absolute Trust

Jin Yi, however, had absolute faith in his Wife’s special abilities.

He took a deep breath, his steady voice cutting through the surrounding clamor. "Everyone, be quiet! Listen to my Wife! If she says she can save him, then she can save him! Moving the cub around right now might only harm him!"

His words, carrying the authority of the Young Clan Leader, temporarily quieted the restless crowd.

As if grasping at a final straw, the distraught female seized Bai Wanwan’s hand, her nails digging into her flesh as she sobbed, "Is it true? C-Can you really save my cub? Please, I’m begging you..."

"Yes, I’ll try. But everyone needs to back away. Don’t crowd him. Give him some air."

While comforting the mother, Bai Wanwan discreetly retrieved a milky-white pill that gave off a faint, clean scent from her System Space.

She carefully cradled the cub’s limp little head, gently pried open his mouth, and placed the soybean-sized pill inside.

Fortunately, though the cub was weak, his survival instinct remained. His throat bobbed, and he subconsciously swallowed the pill.

At that moment, everyone’s heart was in their throat. The only sounds were the flowing river and the mother’s suppressed sobs.

Every second stretched into an eternity.

After a few moments of waiting, the cub remained motionless. His complexion even seemed to have grown more ashen.

The flame of hope that had just ignited in the cub’s Mother’s eyes was instantly extinguished. Her legs gave way, and she collapsed to the ground, burying her face in her hands and weeping as despair washed over her.

The male holding the cub also lost all patience. With anger and anxiety etched on his face, he snatched the cub up from the ground and said sharply, "We can’t wait any longer! We have to..."

Before he could finish, his body was already reacting. He was on the verge of shifting into his beast form to charge back to the tribe.

However, at the very instant he lifted the cub, the small, limp, and lifeless wolf cub in his arms suddenly twitched ever so slightly.

Then, under the incredulous gazes of the surrounding crowd, the little wolf cub’s tightly shut eyes trembled and slowly, slowly opened into a slit! Though his gaze was still dazed and weak, it was no longer lifeless!

"It moved! Look! The cub moved!"

"His eyes are open! Heavens! He’s awake!"

A huge, joyous cheer erupted from the crowd.

The way all the Beastmen looked at Bai Wanwan completely changed, shifting from their earlier doubt and anxiety to utter shock, disbelief, and profound awe!

This Wife of the Young Clan Leader not only possessed a fertility that all other females envied, but she also held a mysterious power capable of bringing someone back from the brink of death—a feat even the Clan Witch might be helpless to achieve!

The Beastmen were mostly simple and direct, and they immediately showed Bai Wanwan their utmost goodwill and gratitude without reservation.

The female who had just swung from profound grief to elation threw herself forward, hugging Bai Wanwan’s legs and thanking her incessantly through choked sobs.

Bai Wanwan bent down to help her up, her tone gentle and sincere. "Please, don’t be like this. We’re both Mothers; I couldn’t just stand by and watch a cub in trouble. There’s no need to thank me. My Beast Husband is the Young Clan Leader of the Golden Lion Clan, which makes all of you my family. It’s only right to protect one’s family."

Her heartfelt words instantly closed the distance between her and all the Beastmen of the Golden Lion Clan.

As they looked at her, their eyes filled with a new level of closeness and genuine adoration.

However, in this moment of joy and warmth after surviving a crisis,

"SCREECH!"

A sharp, piercing, and aggressive eagle’s cry, like a cold blade, suddenly sliced down from the distant sky, shattering the peaceful atmosphere.

"Trouble! It’s Eagle Beasts! A lot of Eagle Beasts!" The male warrior on lookout duty immediately sounded a frantic alarm.

Jin Yi’s expression changed drastically. Reacting in a flash, he bellowed out orders, his powerful and steady voice instantly quelling the rising panic. "All males, listen up! Prioritize protecting the cubs and females! Retreat to the tribe, now! Quickly!"

He then turned to Yan Lie beside him, his gaze sharp and full of trust. "Yan Lie! I’m leaving Wanwan and all the cubs to you! You must protect them completely! I’ll take a team to hold back these damn feathered bastards!"

Yan Lie had clashed with the Eagle Beasts several times before and wished he could bite every last one of them to death.

’But right now, I have to protect Wanwan first.’

"Alright. Don’t worry. I’ll protect Wanwan and the others and get them back first. You be careful, too."

"Okay," Jin Yi said, his gaze sweeping over to Bai Wanwan. "Stay close to Yan Lie. Don’t be afraid. We’ll drive these Eagle Beasts away."

Yan Lie moved with extreme speed. The moment Jin Yi gave the order, he was already placing the cubs into a bamboo basket.

Shi Hua and some of the cubs were lifted onto the back of a guarding Golden Lion, and Shuang Hua was also secured.

Meanwhile, Bai Wanwan, holding her own cubs, quickly climbed onto Yan Lie’s back.

The other Golden Lion males immediately displayed their exceptional combat training.

Without needing many words, they swiftly split into two groups.

One group formed a moving protective circle on the perimeter, like a solid bulwark, shielding the females and cubs at the center. The other group followed closely behind Jin Yi, their sharp eyes locked on the sky, ready to engage the approaching enemy.

The party began to move quickly and orderly in the direction of the tribe.

But the threat from the sky came even faster!

After the first piercing eagle’s cry tore through the air, a second followed, then a third...

Countless cries rang out from all directions like death knells, merging into a scalp-numbing cacophony.

The crowns of the distant jungle trees shook violently, and a massive, dark shadow burst forth like a roiling storm cloud, diving swiftly toward the retreating party!

Their sharp talons glinted coldly in the sunlight, and their greedy, bloodthirsty eyes were fixed on the moving "prey" below, especially the terrified cubs.

"Hold the formation! Don’t break rank!" Jin Yi’s voice, a pillar of stability in the chaos, rang out.

He didn’t charge to the front. Instead, like a steadfast guardian, he followed closely at the rear of the group. His sharp, golden eyes, like the most precise trackers, were locked on the Eagle Beast flock’s every move.

Suddenly, two Eagle Beasts used their superior speed to dive sharply, attempting to swoop over the flank of the formation and attack the female holding a cub at the very edge of the group.

In the nick of time!

Jin Yi’s back legs kicked powerfully against the ground, instantly cracking the solid earth beneath him.

He shot into the air like a golden cannonball, leaping more than ten meters high to intercept the two Eagle Beasts’ flight path with perfect precision!

A soul-shaking lion’s roar echoed through the air!

A flash of gold streaked by, the movement too fast to be seen clearly.

All that could be heard were two sickening CRACKS, followed by the short, tragic shrieks of the Eagle Beasts as they died.
