The two of them returned home in the glow of the setting sun. As a newly mated couple, the affection between Yin Mei and Kong Lai was plain to see.

"Wanwan, Yin Ze, you’re back."

Yin Mei invited them to sit.

Kong Lai, unaware of Bai Wanwan’s habits, brought over a basin of raw meat and set it in front of her.

Before Bai Wanwan could react, Yin Ze had already moved the meat aside. "She doesn’t eat raw meat."

Kong Lai was visibly stunned. He had never seen a female who didn’t eat raw meat.

’Some females were picky, but not to this extent. How did she survive this long without eating raw meat?’

Though he was suspicious, he didn’t voice his question.

"I’ll go start a fire and roast some meat for Wanwan."

Yin Mei was about to get up, but Bai Wanwan quickly stopped her. "Sister Yin Mei, I can do it myself."

As she said this and stood up, Yin Ze beat her to it. "I’ll go."

Yin Mei watched her brother’s retreating back and smiled. "Wanwan, this is the first time I’ve ever seen Yin Ze treat a female this way."

Yin Ze’s back visibly tensed for a moment, but then his pace quickened.

The roasted meat Yin Ze made was rather bland, but for the sake of survival, Bai Wanwan ate every last bite.

When she looked up, she saw Yin Ze staring at her without blinking.

"Is it good?"

"It’s delicious!"

’He already roasted meat for me; I’m in no position to complain.’ So she nodded emphatically.

The corners of Yin Ze’s mouth lifted. "Then I’ll roast meat for you every day from now on."

"Okay, thank you, Yin Ze."

After dinner, Kong Lai’s gaze was fixed on Yin Mei, unable to look away.

Bai Wanwan quickly feigned a yawn, pretending to be sleepy. "Sister Yin Mei, I’m going to head to bed."

"Okay, Wanwan."

Noticing Kong Lai’s gaze, Yin Mei bashfully lowered her head.

Bai Wanwan quickly made her escape.

’They’re practically on their honeymoon. It’s too awkward for me to be here.’

Before Kong Lai had mated with Yin Mei, Bai Wanwan had shared a bed with her.

But now, Yin Ze had given his room to Bai Wanwan, while he found a place to curl up and sleep outside.

Bai Wanwan lay on Yin Ze’s bed, which carried a faint, clean scent.

’I didn’t realize Yin Ze was so clean; there wasn’t a single bad smell.’

She rolled over, ready to drift off to sleep, when loud noises started coming from next door.

Bai Wanwan felt a little awkward, but then she remembered this was the Beast World and decided to get over it.

While wandering outside the other day, she had even seen two Beastmen start mating by a rock behind the tribe.

The spot wasn’t secluded at all, and the Beastmen who occasionally passed by didn’t seem to think anything of it.

’For her, with her modern sensibilities, it was still pretty shocking.’

Just like now. The noises were so loud she could even hear the female’s cries and the male’s low growls.

’Just from the sounds, I can imagine how intense it must be.’

’This is going to be the death of me.’

For some reason, as she tossed and turned, she felt even hotter and more restless.

Finally, she threw off the animal hide and sat up.

The room was a little warm, and combined with the sounds from next door, it felt stifling.

She paced over to the door and opened it.

The moon overhead was half-hidden, mostly obscured by clouds.

In the dim light, she decided she might as well go relieve herself.

She felt her way slowly as she walked outside.

As she made her way along the wall, she suddenly kicked something and lost her balance, pitching forward.

She instinctively reached for anything nearby to steady herself.

But after flailing wildly, she still fell.

Instead of the pain she expected, she was caught securely by a pair of strong arms.

But she heard a muffled grunt from a male.

"Yin Ze?"

Yin Ze didn’t answer, but his arms holding her didn’t let go.

Bai Wanwan leaned against his firm chest, hearing his heart pound like a drum.

She could also hear his ragged breath against her ear.

Bai Wanwan didn’t dare move. She had keenly sensed a change in the male before her.

A long time passed. Yin Ze remained in the same position, neither doing anything more nor letting go to push her away.

In the silence, the sounds from inside the house infinitely magnified the charged atmosphere between them.

Bai Wanwan felt a little hot, and her heart began to race.

"Yin Ze, you can let go now."

She didn’t dare tease him in a situation like this, so she just gave him an honest reminder.

Her words trailed off, but Yin Ze’s hands didn’t loosen.

"Yin Ze?"

After another moment, Yin Ze seemed to snap back to his senses and released his hands from her waist.

His voice was hoarse as he said, "You shouldn’t be wandering around out here. Go back to sleep."

Bai Wanwan feigned composure as she stood up. "Okay."

After that little episode, she no longer felt the need to relieve herself and simply felt her way back to her room.

She pulled the animal hide over her face. The scent on it mingled with the smell she had just caught from Yin Ze.

She quickly threw the hide off again.

She tried to banish the images from her mind and started counting sheep.

She thought she’d be sleepless, but as she counted, she became so tired that she miraculously fell asleep.

When she woke again, sunlight was streaming through the window, illuminating the entire room.

Bai Wanwan got up with a yawn and stretched lazily.

It was quiet outside. It took her a moment to get her bearings before she remembered what happened last night.

’This... is pretty awkward. It doesn’t matter if I run into Yin Mei, Kong Lai, or Yin Ze right now. I don’t think I can act normal around any of them.’

After dawdling in her room for a long time, she finally got dressed, pulled open the door, and went out.

Yin Mei was sitting in the courtyard, her face glowing, as she sewed an animal hide with a Bone Needle.

"You’re awake? Yin Ze got up early and roasted some meat for you. Go have some."

Bai Wanwan found the water source in the house, washed up, and then ate the roasted meat Yin Ze had left for her.

After she finished eating and tidied up, she walked over and sat down next to Yin Mei.

"Sister Yin Mei, let me help you."

"Okay." Yin Mei’s smile was noticeably brighter and more radiant than before.

’What a captivating female.’

Bai Wanwan couldn’t help but stare at her a little longer.

"What is it? Is my face dirty?"

"No," Bai Wanwan chuckled. "It’s just that you look even more beautiful, Sister Yin Mei."

Yin Mei gave her a playful glare, then asked, "Wanwan, what do you think of Yin Ze?"

The hand Bai Wanwan was using to hold the animal hide paused for a moment before she resumed examining it. "What do you mean, what do I think?"

"Do you like Yin Ze? Do you want to mate with him?"

Bai Wanwan looked up with a smile. "Sister Yin Mei, you just got mated and you’re already trying to play matchmaker for me?"

Yin Mei put down her Bone Needle and took Wanwan’s hand. "If you think Yin Ze is a good match, what if I, as his sister, arrange for you two to be mated?"

Bai Wanwan quickly waved her hands in dismissal. "Sister Yin Mei, don’t be reckless! Yin Ze hasn’t even said he wants to mate with me."

The smile on Yin Mei’s face grew even gentler. "I watched Yin Ze grow up. He’s never been like this with any other female. He only treats you this way."

"But you’re right. If that boy really likes you, he should be the one to tell you himself."
