Chapter 350: Chapter 350: Reddening Ear Tips

"Sister!"

Yin Ze pushed open the door, only to see Yin Mei, her face flushed red, quickly shoving Kong Lai away.

Kong Lai had a helpless look on his face and cleared his throat.

Yin Ze thought he was bullying his sister and rushed forward, his expression frosty. "Are you bullying my sister?"

Yin Mei immediately explained, "Yin Ze, no, he... he’s very good."

Bai Wanwan stood at the doorway. Seeing Yin Mei’s shy expression and Kong Lai’s transfixed gaze, she knew things were probably settled.

"Very good?"

Yin Ze’s fist, which had been about to fly, stopped in mid-air.

Kong Lai turned, his gaze sincere and earnest as he said to Yin Ze, "Yin Ze, I like your sister. I can swear to the Beast God that regardless of whether Yin Mei can have cubs in the future, I will always love her, protect her, and stay by her side forever."

Listening from the side, Yin Mei’s eyes welled up with tears, the love in them impossible to contain.

She stared at Kong Lai without blinking, her whole heart already given to him.

Yin Ze’s brows knitted together. "You’re not lying to me?"

"Yes, I’m not lying. If I am, you can beat me to death then."

Yin Ze also saw how happy his sister was, and the tightness in his chest eased. "Fine, I believe you. So when do you plan to mate with my sister?"

"The sooner, the better."

A hopeful smile appeared on Kong Lai’s already handsome face.

"Alright, I’ll give you two days to prepare."

Listening from outside, Bai Wanwan found it a little amusing.

He was the one who wouldn’t let any males near Yin Mei at first, and now he was the one who couldn’t wait, as if afraid Kong Lai would run off.

A short while later, Kong Lai left, his face glowing with delight.

Bai Wanwan didn’t go in to disturb the siblings’ conversation.

After a long while, Yin Mei pushed the door open and strode toward her.

She reached out and hugged her, crying tears of joy. Her voice was full of gratitude. "Wanwan, thank you! If it weren’t for you, I... I might have missed out on Kong Lai."

"It’s because Sister Yin Mei and he are fated to be."

The two females exchanged a smile. As they spoke, Bai Wanwan suddenly felt a gaze on her.

She looked up and saw Yin Ze standing nearby, watching them with a faint smile on his lips.

But the moment her gaze swept over him, he immediately dropped the smile and turned his head away, pretending nothing had happened.

The corners of Bai Wanwan’s lips curved slightly as she admired his awkward expression.

He was about six-foot-three, with a lean and powerful build. His aura and features were simply flawless.

From a distance, he was like a breathtakingly beautiful scene.

Yin Mei noticed her line of sight, a teasing smile in her eyes, and made an excuse to go back inside.

Yin Ze had already sat down on a stone stool and begun to process his kill from the hunt.

Bai Wanwan clasped her hands behind her back and took small steps to his side. She didn’t say a word, just watched him with a beaming smile.

Then, she saw the tips of his ears turn a shade of red, but he still feigned composure and continued to process the kill.

After a long moment, he suddenly dropped the piece of meat in his hands and looked up at her.

Meeting her radiant, flower-like smile, the words Yin Ze had been about to ask got stuck in his throat.

’Why is this little female so beautiful?’

He cursed himself inwardly and forced his gaze away from her face.

"You’ve been standing here this whole time. Do you need something?"

"Nope!" Bai Wanwan’s smile became even more dazzling and charming. "It’s because I have nothing to do that I’m here watching you..."

She drew out her words, watching the blush at the base of his ears spread to his cheeks, before finishing her sentence, "...work!"

Yin Mei’s stifled laugh suddenly came from inside the doorway.

Yin Ze’s head shot up, and he glared at her.

Yin Mei had no choice but to duck back inside the house.

Over the next two days, Kong Lai moved many things to their home.

Soon, the entire stone house was nearly full.

"That’s enough, that’s enough! You’ve moved all your things here. Won’t your Mother and Father Beast have something to say about this?"

"They won’t. They’re very happy that you agreed to mate with me."

Yin Mei’s smile stiffened. "They know?"

Kong Lai said with a smile, "This is our own business. They don’t need to know."

Yin Mei’s mood sank. "It’s my fault."

"It’s not your fault. You’re wonderful," Kong Lai said, a bit clumsily.

Whenever this happened, Bai Wanwan felt like a big, bright third wheel.

She would quietly slip out of the house to wander around and chat with the Beastmen in the tribe.

Over the past few days, she had adapted to life here. She’d gotten used to the slow pace, and it seemed quite comfortable.

It was just... she always felt as if she had forgotten something important.

’What could it be?’

She tried to recall it, but no matter how hard she tried, her mind was a blank.

And if she thought about it too much, her head would start to hurt.

She had no choice but to give up.

"Wanwan, these are the Honey Fruits I picked in the mountains. They’re all for you."

A simple and honest-looking male offered a basket full of red fruits to Bai Wanwan.

Bai Wanwan quickly took a step back. "No, no, I can’t eat that many."

She had just refused when another hand reached out from the side. "Wanwan, this is Snow Fox Fur. During the snowy season, you can use it to make a Beast Skin Skirt. It would look beautiful on you."

"Wanwan, I have something for you too..."

When Yin Ze came looking for her, he found a crowd of males surrounding Bai Wanwan.

And she was smiling so beautifully at them.

He stood there waiting for a long time, but Bai Wanwan didn’t notice him.

She was still talking about who-knows-what with that group of males.

He held his breath in frustration, not making a sound, wanting to see when she would finally notice him.

Bai Wanwan finally managed to send all the males on their way, and when she turned, she saw Yin Ze standing off to the side.

She had no idea how long he’d been standing there.

She trotted over with a beaming smile. "You came?"

He responded with a muffled "Mm."

"Have you been here long? Why didn’t you call me?"

The smile on her face was more beautiful than the sunset clouds in the sky.

The frustration that had been bubbling inside him vanished into thin air at her smile.

"I saw you were talking to them, so I didn’t call you."

"Then let’s go."

Bai Wanwan turned with light steps and started walking ahead.

After a couple of steps, she realized he wasn’t following.

She tilted her head back to look at him. "Hm? Why aren’t you coming?"

Yin Ze shook his head helplessly. ’What was I even angry about? She doesn’t even know.’

He caught up to her in just two strides, pulled a snow-white fruit from his robes, and held it out to her. "Here."

Bai Wanwan glanced down. She vaguely seemed to recall seeing this kind of fruit before, and that it was quite delicious.

Seeing that she was just staring at it and not reaching out to take it, Yin Ze simply pushed the fruit into her hand. "All the females like this fruit. Eat."

Bai Wanwan came back to her senses, lifted the fruit, and took a big bite.

A burst of clear, sweet juice exploded on her tongue. It was indeed more delicious than any fruit she had ever eaten.

Watching her nibble on the fruit, her eyes curving into crescents, Yin Ze’s own expression softened, and a smile unconsciously touched his lips.
