Delicate Villainess, Desperate Males – A Beast World Reverse Harem
Chapter 346: Phoenix
Chapter 346: Chapter 346: Phoenix
A strong wind howled in her ears. Bai Wanwan knew she was plummeting off a cliff.
She didn’t want to die. Her mind was a chaotic mess.
"System, can you save me?"
"Host, I cannot interfere in your life, but I can tell you there is a river below. You might have a chance of survival."
Bai Wanwan’s heart sank. A chance of survival...
She tilted her head up, wanting one last look at her Beast Husbands, but instead, she saw several figures plummeting after her.
Seeing that, her heart felt like it had been riddled with holes.
Her eyes quickly turned red.
She muttered, ’Why are you all so foolish!’
SPLASH!
The icy, rushing river water snatched away all her attention.
’I have to survive. Only by surviving can I have a chance to live happily with them.’
She struggled to keep her head above the water.
Unfortunately, the river was far too turbulent. It swept her a great distance in an instant, and a crashing wave plunged her underwater.
She held her breath and fought to regain her balance.
The moment she had a chance to surface, she would immediately break through for a breath.
And so, she drifted with the current for a long time. Several times, she was nearly dragged under by the waves, almost unable to resurface.
Her stamina was draining rapidly. She didn’t know how much longer she could last.
But she knew it wouldn’t be for long...
A small whirlpool formed ahead of her. Bai Wanwan’s body was tugged by its force. She only had time to gasp for a single breath before the vortex dragged her down.
Xin Feng, Jin Yi, Yan Lie, and Zhu Xiu crashed into the river one after another, sending up massive splashes.
Unlike a female with no Talent Power, they could use their own to resist the impact of the waves.
"Wanwan must have been swept downstream! Everyone, shift to your human forms and follow the current to find her."
After speaking, Zhu Xiu was the first to shift into his human form. He then began following the river downstream, scanning the banks as he went...
Bai Wanwan lasted less than half a minute before she lost consciousness.
*******
In her hazy state, Bai Wanwan seemed to hear many voices nearby.
A constant buzzing wouldn’t let her sleep properly.
Annoyed, she snapped her eyes open.
Only to be met with an exquisitely beautiful face.
She wasn’t just beautiful; her smile was also incredibly gentle, giving off a sense of warmth and familiarity.
"You’re awake? Are you still feeling uncomfortable anywhere?"
The beautiful woman’s voice was also lovely—soft and pleasant to the ear.
Bai Wanwan’s head ached a little. She subconsciously reached up to touch the back of her head, but the beautiful woman caught her hand.
She said softly, "You bumped your head. It’s not serious, but you shouldn’t touch it."
"Oh, thank you."
After she spoke, she couldn’t shake the feeling that something was wrong.
She couldn’t seem to remember much.
She only remembered being a human from the 21st century and vaguely recalled having transmigrated to the Beast World.
But she couldn’t remember anything that happened after that.
"Does it hurt a lot?" The beautiful woman seemed very worried and quickly reached out to support her. "If it hurts, you should rest a while longer."
As they spoke, the door to the room was pushed open from the outside.
Hearing the sound, Bai Wanwan looked up toward the doorway.
A tall, slender man... oh, no, it must be a Beastman male, walked in carrying something.
She was immediately hit by the smell of blood. Looking again, she saw a blurry mess of flesh and blood in the stone basin he held.
Bai Wanwan’s stomach suddenly lurched, and she began to dry heave.
The beautiful woman gently rubbed her back and said, "Don’t be afraid. This is my younger brother; we’re from the same litter. He’s the one who rescued you."
After retching for a moment, Bai Wanwan felt a little better.
A moment ago, she hadn’t paid attention to him, only to what he was carrying.
Hearing that he was the one who had saved her, she thanked him. "Thank you for saving me. Can I ask where you rescued me from?"
She wanted to trace her steps back, to see if she could find her lost memories.
He stood against the light, his face indistinct in the dim surroundings, but from his general outline, Bai Wanwan could tell he was no less handsome than the beautiful woman beside her.
He didn’t step forward, just stood about three feet from the stone bed and answered, "I was passing a cave on my way down the mountain and pulled you out of the underground river there."
"Did something happen before that?" the extremely beautiful female beside her asked gently.
Bai Wanwan also wanted to know what had happened, but her mind was a complete blank.
She could only shake her head. "I don’t remember."
Silence fell over the stone cave. After a long moment, the female took her hand and comforted her, "If you don’t remember, you don’t remember. You can try to think about it later, slowly. My name is Yin Mei, and he is Yin Ze. From now on, you can live with us."
"I’m sorry to trouble you," Bai Wanwan said, feeling a little embarrassed. ’They saved me, and now I’m mooching off them.’
But she vaguely knew this was the Beast World Continent, and it was dangerous outside. She definitely couldn’t just run around aimlessly.
"It’s alright. We’re just staying here temporarily too. The Peacock Clan is quite friendly to outsiders like us."
After chatting for just a short while, Bai Wanwan felt exhausted, and the wound on her head was throbbing with pain.
Yin Mei could see she was uncomfortable, so she helped her lie down. "You should get some rest. Don’t worry, we can talk about everything else after you’ve recovered."
Bai Wanwan had no other choice. Right now, she knew nothing.
With her head splitting in pain, she gave in to her drowsiness and quickly fell fast asleep.
After she fell asleep, the male Beastman frowned and spoke, "Yin Mei, are you really going to let her stay?"
Yin Mei stood up with a smile and patted his arm. "Oh, you! You’re always so hostile toward strange Beastmen. She..."
Yin Mei glanced back at Bai Wanwan lying on the bed. "...is quite pitiful. Maybe she’s like me. But I’m luckier than her—I have my little brother to protect me, and she has nothing. If we can help her, we should."
Yin Ze hadn’t wanted to save her at first, but his instinct to protect females had compelled him to bring her back.
He just hadn’t expected to bring such trouble upon himself.
Yin Mei could see Yin Ze wasn’t happy about it. She smiled and pushed him out the door. "It’ll be nice to have her company. Yin Ze, you’ve been out for so long, you should go back now."
Yin Ze’s handsome face creased with a slight frown. "If I leave, what will you do?"
"We’ve been here for quite some time. The Peacock Clan is very friendly to us. Even if you leave, I can live well here."
But Yin Ze shook his head adamantly. "No. The only reason they’re nice to you is because I help them hunt and defend against raids from other clans."
"That’s enough. What you’ve done is enough for them to show me goodwill."
Seeing Yin Ze was about to speak again, Yin Mei smiled and said, "You can’t protect me forever. You have your own life to live."
"You don’t have to say any more. I’ve already decided to live here."
Their Mother and Father Beast were both gone. His Sister was his only remaining blood relative.
They had wanted to send his only Sister to the Female Cave, so why should he sacrifice his own life for the glory of the Phoenix Clan?
He was an Orange Rank male. He could survive in any tribe. With him around, his Sister would no longer be bullied.
