Bai Wanwan was all too familiar with that look in a male’s eyes.

But right now, her mind was on her cubs. She couldn’t just let him have his way.

So she cupped his face and planted a quick kiss on his lips. "I have to go check on the cubs. Don’t you get any ideas."

Yan Lie tried to get up with her but tugged at his wounds, letting out a soft HISS.

Hearing the sound, Bai Wanwan turned back. "Where are you hurt? Let me see."

After taking the Ghost Orchid Grass, her body had been too weak and exhausted.

Besides, the males had seemed to be in good condition, so she had completely forgotten they had just been in a major battle with the Eagle Beasts.

She walked over in a few quick steps and pulled aside Yan Lie’s animal hide.

Only then did she see the many wounds covering his body, though they weren’t as severe as Jin Yi’s.

The wounds had already started to scab over.

Yan Lie grinned at her. "Don’t look, I don’t want to scare you. These wounds just look nasty. For us, they’re just minor injuries. Don’t waste your ointment on them. They’ll be completely gone in a few days."

"That’s not an option... Turn around."

Seeing the smile vanish from her face, Yan Lie quickly and obediently turned around.

He could feel her fingertips gently brushing across his back.

He couldn’t feel the pain from his wounds at all. Instead, the tingling sensation made his entire body feel like it was catching fire.

But even more than that, his chest was filled with overwhelming happiness.

Bai Wanwan watched him turn his head to look at her from time to time, a smile never leaving his face. In fact, he was grinning from ear to ear.

"You’re that easily satisfied?" Bai Wanwan said with a sideways glance and a smile.

She sighed internally. ’The males in this Beast World are so innocent. It feels like I haven’t even done that much for them, just offered the most basic care.’

’And yet they all think I’m wonderful.’

’They don’t ask for much, and they’d even give their lives for me. Where else could I find partners this good?’

She felt just as lucky, marveling that the heavens had sent so many outstanding males to her.

Yan Lie tried to lean in for a kiss, but she anticipated his move and pinched his face. "Sit still. Have you forgotten how many injuries you have?"

Getting glared at by her only made Yan Lie’s smile grow brighter, but he stopped fidgeting and let her apply the ointment.

His body was covered in so many wounds that there was barely a patch of unscathed skin.

However, injuries of this degree didn’t require the Extreme Effect Golden Sore Medicine, so she just applied a coat of the Ordinary Golden Sore Medicine.

"Alright, that’s done. You have a lot of wounds, so lie on your stomach and get some rest. I’m going to check on Xin Feng’s injuries. Call me if you feel uncomfortable anywhere."

"You’re such good cubs for Mama. You haven’t been running all over the place, have you? Mama has a reward for you."

Bai Wanwan had recently been organizing her system panel and discovered that if she scrolled down in the food section, there were canned foods and snacks that pets loved.

Things like cod sandwiches, chicken rawhide rolls, crystal chicken bites...

Gritting her teeth, she bought several kinds of snacks all at once.

When the aroma wafted out, even Bai Wanwan felt tempted to take a bite.

The cubs smelled the pet snacks and began to bounce and leap around her excitedly.

Xin Feng’s eyes held a gentle smile as he nodded slightly. "Yes, I heard."

Bai Wanwan hugged the wolf cub and gave it a big kiss. When the other cubs saw this, they all started whining and crowding around, wanting their Mother to kiss them too.

Bai Wanwan didn’t play favorites. She made sure to hug, cuddle, and kiss each and every cub.

The cubs were so happy and comfortable that their eyes narrowed to slits, and they lay with their bellies up, letting their Mother rub them.

Xin Feng watched his female tenderly. ’It’s the cubs’ good fortune to have a Mother like her.’

After cuddling the cubs for a while, Bai Wanwan put them down. "Go on and play by yourselves for a bit..."

The cubs skipped away, and Bai Wanwan smiled at Xin Feng. "You taught them, didn’t you?"

’I always call myself ’Mama’ in front of them, but they called me ’Mother.’ Who else could have taught them but Xin Feng?’

Xin Feng smiled, not denying it.

She stood up and held out her hand to him. "Come here. Let me see your wounds."

Xin Feng enveloped her hand with his large palm and said with a smile, "My wounds aren’t serious. It’s nothing to worry about."

Without taking no for an answer, Bai Wanwan pulled him over to a stone bench by the house. "Even if they aren’t serious, they need to be treated so they can heal faster."

Xin Feng’s eyes held a smile the entire time, his expression one of pure indulgence.

He let Bai Wanwan pull aside his animal hide and apply the ointment.

Jin Yi was propped up on his bed, his handsome face slightly pale from blood loss.

Suddenly, the sound of footsteps came from outside the door.

It was the male he had sent to investigate. He strode to Jin Yi’s side and reported in a low voice, "Young Clan Leader, that male is a Cat Clan Beastman. He lives in the eastern part of the tribe, in a residence personally arranged by the Clan Leader."

Jin Yi pushed himself up, his eyes flashing. "Father Beast arranged it personally?"

"Yes."

Jin Yi fell silent, as if pondering something. Then he stood up. "I’ll go see that Cat Clan Beastman myself."

"Young Clan Leader, you’re still injured."

"It’s nothing."

With that, Jin Yi threw on an animal hide and strode out of his residence.

Before long, Jin Yi arrived at the Cat Clan Beastman’s residence with two other male beastmen.

As it happened, the Cat Clan Beastman was outside, butchering some prey. When he suddenly saw Jin Yi, he guiltily lowered his head and pretended to be busy.

After a moment, he hurriedly picked up a stone basin and tried to go inside.

But as soon as he turned, Jin Yi blocked his path.

"W-what... what do you all want?"

Jin Yi stared at him, looking him up and down. "You’re a Cat Clan Beastman? Why have you come to the Golden Lion Tribe?"

"I... I was just passing through." His face was a mask of guilt and panic, and sweat beaded on his hands and feet.

"Passing through? And the Golden Lion Clan Chief would personally arrange lodging for you?"
