CRASH!
"Where are you?! You cannot hide from me anymore!"
Guinevere landed in the boss chamber a second later, scanning her surroundings as she stepped into the blood swamp. The thick liquid clung to her boots with every step. She looked at the beating heart, which suddenly popped an eye, blinking at her, glancing. The eye tracked her movement with slow awareness.
"What have you seen, Sorrowful Heart?" she asked, walking toward it. "Tell me, where are they? Point your pupil where they are hiding and I shall reward you. Maybe we can take off these chains that keep you here..."
"..."
The "Sorrowful Heart" didn’t respond nor did anything, even though it seemed that Guinevere knew a secret about this dungeon boss that others didn’t, or that was kept a complete secret from everyone else. She waited a few seconds longer before her patience broke.
"Tell me!" she roared, pointing her spear at it. "I am well aware of what you are, you are an intelligent being, or rather, his heart right?! This entire place is nothing but a small fragment of what remains of a great being... eternally pumping blood for all eternity."
"..."
"So tell me now," she said. "Tell me where they are..."
"..."
The Sorrowful Heart narrowed its eye for a moment as it glared at Guinevere, and then it spit blood into her face. The thick liquid hit her cheek and dripped down her armor.
"...?!"
Her eyes widened in anger, annoyance, and cold... fury. Her spear pierced the Sorrowful Heart furiously, blood poured everywhere as the heart agonized and then... after beating faster for a while, it stopped entirely. The blood production stopped within the dungeon. The constant flow through the walls and floor slowed to a trickle and then ceased.
"L-Lady Guinevere! Is this really the right thing to do?!" asked one soldier.
"You’ve cut the supply of blood from the dungeon, this is a valuable blood production area for the Bloodmoon Conglomerate!" another soldier pointed out.
"Silence," Guinevere sighed, looking around. "Like any monster it will respawn eventually... it doesn’t matter what it once was, even if it was the heart torn apart from a great being, it is now qualified as a monster, and as a monster, it will return, to continue its eternal torment."
"..."
"..."
The soldiers sighed, but didn’t say anything. Guinevere looked back at the walls, the ceiling, and walked around without rest, but was unable, completely unable, to find anything or anybody. She checked every shadow and crevice twice.
"Where are they?! It’s like... they completely disappeared!" she screamed, smashing the walls in fury and making the entire dungeon tremble in response. "Haaa..."
As she sighed, she called more soldiers, who started looking everywhere, touching every nook and cranny, they brought machines and everything, but were unable to find a single thing. Scanners beeped with empty results.
"They’ve completely vanished..." muttered a soldier. "Do they have some kind of teleportation ability?"
"Maybe an escape stone!" said another soldier.
"Escape stones are incredibly expensive items!" said Guinevere. "There’s no way terrorists could have the money to afford such a thing..."
"GUINEVERE! MY SON IS DEAD AND IT’S ALL YOUR FAULT!!!"
Suddenly, Rose landed in front of the soldiers, her flowing blood aura surging and completely crushing the soldiers into meat paste and blood. Bodies flattened under the pressure before they could react.
"Guuaaaagggh!"
"Aaaaggghh!"
"Lady Guinevere!!!"
As they screamed in agony and died in masse, Guinevere’s eyes widened, screaming. "What?! Stop what you’re doing! Why are you hurting innocent soldiers that have nothing to do with this?! And what do you mean it’s my fault?!" she roared, stepping forward and forging a holy barrier around the survivors. "Stay back!" she told them. "I’ll handle her fury."
"Y-YOU...!" Rose roared, her entire body growing larger and monstrous, her bones cracking and her arms and legs stretching. "YOU TOOK HIM FROM ME, YOUR NEGLIGENCE!!! IT’S YOUR FAULT!!!"
Rose charged with fury, overflowing with the power of someone nearing the realm of SSS Ranks already clashing against Guinevere and unleashing loud shockwaves and tremors everywhere around the cave.
CRASH!
CRASH!
CRASH!
CRASH!
Her giant claws grew massively, and she grew white fur around her face and shoulders, her beautiful face changing into the shape of a monstrous albino bat, hissing at Guinevere and trying to bite her with massive fangs. Guinevere blocked her with her golden spear and took on her attack, swinging her fist and punching her between her two big eyes, before following with another kick in the chest, sending the Vampiress crashing through the walls.
CRAAASH!
As this happened, Guinevere walked toward her, her spear gleaming brightly with holy light. She kept her stance steady despite the force of the earlier impact.
"I’ve told you already, Claymore is not responsible for what happened to your son, Rose Bloodmoon. Elias himself died because of his weakness."
"WHAT?!"
In that moment, Rose Bloodmoon completely lost her mind, hissing and roaring against Guinevere and charging against her at full strength, sprouting a pair of enormous bat-like wings from her back, as her muscles bulged with power and the might of the Vampire Family.
This was the Vampire Family’s special Werebat Transformation, an ability innate to them that doesn’t descend from skills but from their very bloodlines themselves. It allows them to transform into Werebat, the true form of vampires, and unleash their full power. Often considered an unsightly and ugly appearance, vampires usually don’t take onto this form unless they’re fighting with all their might in a life-or-death battle, or when they cannot contain their wrath, or in this case, sorrow, anymore.
Guinevere saw Rose charge against her, massive claws unleashing dozens of rampaging attacks, crimson electricity bursting from her hands as it struck Guinevere mercilessly, pummeling her down into the ground and cracking the floor beneath.
As all of this happened, soldiers started running away and Daniela gazed from the corner of the room, completely invisible and undetectable even by these powerhouses.
Why? Because she had copied Riven’s "Veil of Invisibility" Skill!
