Chapter 162: Fighting The Combined Monstrosity, Genesis-REBIRTH!

Riven’s fists tightened their grip with renewed resolve. A complete set of Dragon Armor manifested around his body, making him resemble an Ancient Giant Dragoon Knight of legend. "No matter what. We will kill them both then. Label! Are you ready?"

Label swallowed hard. This was it. Her father’s killer stood right in front of her, even if a lot of things had gone slightly off the rails along the way. This was finally the moment of her long-awaited revenge. "Yes...!" She quickly drank a potent elixir, causing her aura to surge momentarily with fresh power. "I’ll assist you with everything I have, Riven!"

Riven nodded firmly. His own aura exploded outward as he combined every available power with his spiritual form, which then divided into several independent clones made purely of condensed energy. "Very well."

Riven’s eyes narrowed as he saw the monster’s new status.

A Rank that was constantly shifting, impossible to calculate.

"GROOAAAARRRR!"

The monstrosity roared with primal fury and charged toward them without hesitation. At the same time Ryujin laughed maniacally as his eyes turned a deep, bloody red and his skin became an unnatural gray.

His arms suddenly elongated into a pair of long, densely muscular tentacles that rushed directly toward Riven. Meanwhile the rest of the creature — formerly the offspring of a White Fox Spirit Beast — reached them within a single millisecond. It phased effortlessly through all physical matter as its jaws split open into four separate folds and lunged toward Label.

Its plan was simple and ruthless. This newborn abomination wanted to feed even more. Label was the smallest and weakest link present, so it desired to devour her first in order to gain additional power. Afterward it would turn its full attention to Riven and completely demolish him with strength greater than his own.

However, there was one critical factor the creature had failed to take into consideration.

Riven was thoroughly pissed off.

"I am fairly sure I fucking killed you already. I aimed directly at your soul and your spirit," Riven growled. "I really hate being tricked this way."

He blurred through space with impossible speed and swung all four of his blades at the same time, unleashing a potent series of powerful black slashing waves composed of pure sword energy and dense curses.

SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!

The pair of tentacles was instantly diced into countless pieces. Before the monster could react further, Riven sent all four weapons flying straight toward its open jaws. They pierced the soft tissue four separate times before releasing the concentrated poison and netherworld flames he had carefully imbued into each blade.

BOOOMMM!!!

Four smaller explosions rapidly combined into one massive detonation. Label watched in awe as the giant monster stumbled backward. Half of its entire face had been completely obliterated along with its two front legs, while ghostly blue fire continued to burn its exposed soul.

"Wow...!"

"GRYYYAAAAAAAAAAAARRGGH!"

The monstrous beast roared in pure fury. It quickly began regenerating new limbs as it took a heavy step forward, spread out its mutant wings, and launched itself into the air toward Label in another attempt to devour her.

"Stubborn bastard."

Riven spun gracefully in midair and descended from the skies above like a falling meteor. He placed his hands together as his aura erupted with overwhelming power, manifesting a giant beast-like chimera — his full spiritual beast manifestation.

The sheer spiritual pressure radiating from the chimera caused the flying monster to lose all momentum. It plummeted downward with a loud, bone-shaking thud. In the next instant dozens of purple-colored ice blades appeared all around Riven. Each blade blazed with ghostly blue flames as they rained down upon the fallen creature.

Riven further imbued the projectiles with concentrated psychic energy, charging them with additional kinetic force. This combination allowed his ice projectiles, already laced with deadly poison, to reach an entirely new level of lethality.

CLASH! CLASH! CLASH! CLASH! CLASH!

The monster let out a series of agonizing screams as every heavy weapon Riven sent downward — each one further boosted by his Heavy Weapon Mastery Skill — pierced deep into its flesh. The ice began freezing large sections of its body while the poison simultaneously melted flesh, burned it from within, and caused rapid decay.

However, the creature still growled defiantly. It slowly forced itself back onto its feet and began charging both psychic energy and spiritual power inside its damaged jaws. Then it fired a massive, blinding white beam cannon toward Riven at nearly point-blank range just as he was descending to finish it off.

BOOOOMMM!!!

Riven was caught slightly off-guard by the sudden attack. He was sent flying backward as his metallic bone armor and outer flesh melted away under the intense heat, momentarily revealing the dense muscles and even the bones beneath.

This thing was rapidly nearing the power level of a true A-Rank monster. Riven could not allow it to reach that threshold under any circumstances. He himself had not yet broken into that realm.

"Tsk!"

He continued his descent even while still burning. Deep within his body his entire genetic makeup pulsed and trembled as his Immortal Alien Race ability fully triggered, allowing him to recover to complete full health in a single instant.

He gained a powerful second wind. With that recovery his overall power skyrocketed. His stats increased massively by a full five times, while Call of the Beast further took advantage of the sudden drop and recovery in health to grant him an additional large boost of raw strength.

The beast’s many eyes widened in visible shock as Riven swung his fist downward. The arm was fully infused with the stacked power of all his summoned giants. His entire limb transformed into a gigantic titan arm that began smashing the creature into the ground repeatedly with massive, explosive fiery fists.

BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOM!

As Riven continued to pummel the beast with a brutal combination of Abyssal Assault, Netherworld King Swordsmanship, and several other techniques, Label ran in a wide circle around the creature. She gathered a glowing green energy at her fingertips and sent a concentrated wave of it directly into the monster’s body.

"?!"

The monster was instantly paralyzed for a critical half-second as it felt a powerful psionic wave — one that was intimately connected to its own Genesis Cells — strike deep into its core. That brief opening was exactly what Riven needed.

"Thanks, Label!"

With a thunderous roar Riven called back his Divine Blade, Fenrir’s Fang, and swung it savagely downward. He unleashed several consecutive Guillotine Cascades. Powerful, potent cleaving waves of energy cut through the monster again and again, rapidly reducing large portions of its body into diced chunks of bloody flesh.

"GRYYYAAAEERRRGGHHH!"

Yet its power and vitality remained otherworldly. Not only had the creature ingested a massive quantity of Genesis Cells, but it also carried the residual power of a divine Spirit Beast on top of that. The combination made it truly monstrous and incredibly difficult to put down permanently.

RUMBLE!

Out of nowhere the ground beneath both of them trembled violently and then shattered. Space itself warped as powerful psionic and spiritual energies converged in one location and briefly twisted reality around them.
