Delayed for Four Lifetimes: I Awaken by Investing in My Crippled Wife
Chapter 114: Trapped! Kagehisa’s Spirit Domain And The Genius’ True Power
-----
Domains were powerful manifestations of a person’s Aura, Spiritual Energy, and Mana.
With enough power and mastery over magic and spiritual arts, it became possible for very strong and unique individuals to create contained, small spaces designed to trap an enemy.
Within these spaces, trapped enemies became weakened and usually fell under specific conditions or rules that favored the Domain Master.
What was more, there was no way to escape other than dealing enough damage to the Domain Master or outright killing him.
"That’s right!" Kagehisa laughed loudly, his long blue-haired ponytail waving in the strong winds as he placed his hands together. "This has become the grave of every single bastard that has believed they could defeat the greatest genius of the Hattori Clan."
"..."
Kagehisa’s arrogance was fully justified. He was indeed a genius among geniuses, and someone no novice should ever dare to face without expecting death at every corner.
After all, when he underwent his Class Awakening ritual at the age of sixteen, the System did not simply award him a standard rogue class. The sky above the Iga mountains turned pitch black, and the spectral roar of a demon echoed across the heavens.
Kagehisa had unlocked a unique, singular Class: [Divine Successor of the Demon God].
Through this class, Hanzo’s divine Authority directly channeled into Kagehisa’s veins. He did not just learn the Demonic Spear Arts; he inherited the muscle memory of a god.
The only reason he had been stuck at C Rank (or almost B) was because he had grown bored of hunting ordinary monsters and had started fooling around to the point where he came all the way to America to "battle strong opponents." He followed the branch of "Yakuza" created by the Yokai Guild, which held strong ties with his clan.
"I will now show you why they fear me," Kagehisa spoke with a prideful smile and confident eyes, his entire body trembled as his heart started beating faster and his blood flow accelerated, his body releasing vapor everywhere.
He began to release his true power. Red runes started to manifest across his white skin, unsealing the hidden power within him and the spear he held.
"That spear..." Riven’s spoke as he felt Kagehisa’s power rapidly increase, it seemed he was drawing power from that mythical weapon the young man held in his dexterous hands.
His eyes narrowed as he glanced at the only thing that really worried him — the deadly spear inherited from Hattori Hanzo himself.
The divine mana flowing through the young ninja did not just enhance his body; it allowed him to physically manifest the legendary Onikirimaru, the Demon Cutter, shaping the long-lost 14-foot weapon out of solid, compressed shadows.
The form it held before was nothing but its weakest, sealed state. The spear now grew to its true size and appearance, gleaming with demonic red energy and swirling shadows.
It was a legendary weapon almost on par with Fenrir’s Fang!
"Surprised?" Kagehisa asked with a sneer. "This is the wonderful Onikirimaru, the very spear my ancestor, Hattori Hanzo-sama, wielded to cut through demons and humans alike! And our clan’s greatest pride and joy. It’s true that the physical relic form remains back home, but I can manifest it temporarily thanks to my close connection with our founder."
"One question," Riven spoke calmly.
Kagehisa, feeling like he had already won, nodded. "Sure, go ahead."
"Does that relic compare to mine?" Riven asked, holding Fenrir’s Fang aloft.
Its power skyrocketed out of nowhere.
"?!"
RUMBLE!
The ground beneath Riven shattered and gained spiderweb-like cracks. At the same time, the phantasmal temple behind him trembled in fear. Its countless ghosts, forged from Kagehisa’s previous victims, cried out in pain and began to escape in panic.
"T-That’s...!" Kagehisa clenched his teeth. "D-Divine... power?!"
"A little," Riven smiled. His sword had already reached Tier 2 while he slew all those Yokaified Yakuza. "It just grew up, this child... and he’s very hungry."
"..."
Kagehisa remained silent for a moment, finally realizing that Riven was a fearful and incredible opponent.
Someone truly worthy of his spear!
He smiled with pure fascination, his eyes reflecting the madness of a genius who had gone unchallenged for the last two years since he awakened.
His desire, his thirst...
For a proper challenge!
"Riven Claymore..." His hair suddenly turned deep red as he underwent a dramatic transformation. A pair of oni-like horns grew from his forehead.
"Yokaification?" Riven wondered aloud. "No... he’s not using any serum?! And yet..."
This wasn’t just Yokaification as Riven believed, Kagehisa was channeling his own "Spirit" and the true Demonic Essence of the spear to transform.
"You’ve really pumped me the hell up," Kagehisa said with a demonic smile. "Let’s go all-out. Show me!!!"
RUMBLE!
The tower where Kagehisa had been standing exploded and shattered as a powerful tremor born from the air pressure of his jump reverberated through the surrounding terrain.
At the same time, Kagehisa moved at breakneck speed, reaching Riven and confronting him face-to-face while swinging his spear with deadly precision.
A horizontal thrust was unleashed, followed by dozens of the same thrusts over and over again.
The world around Kagehisa warped as black metals flew everywhere, creating a spiral of shadows that enclosed both him and Riven.
"Onikiri: Shin-Geki – Demon Cutter: Divine Thrust."
A forward spear thrust infused with divine energy was unleashed with overwhelming force.
Riven had no choice other than to take it head-on as well.
He combined the power of his skills and stacked them all together within his body and sword.
Then he intercepted the blow with his massive musculature and incredible physical might.
Tyrant Embodiment.
Sacrificial Werewolf.
Biological Armor.
Netherworld King Swordsmanship.
Ten Thousand Poison Fang.
Veil of Invisibility.
Assassination Shadow Blade.
Abyssal Assault.
Riven disappeared for a moment as dozens of strikes appeared around Kagehisa, hitting him from every angle imaginable.
"?!"
Kagehisa’s eyes widened for only a millisecond before he pulled back his spear and struck the Riven appearing behind him with seamless precision and a prideful smile.
"You cannot hide from me in my own domain, Riven Claymore!"
"!!!"
