Death... and me

Chapter 4265: Overestimate

Chapter 4265: Overestimate

The watchpost in Area F17 was always staffed by at least a hundred experts. It was also connected to the mainland farther back, and everyone living in it could send an emergency signal at any time. Several patrols covered the entire F17 area, which was several hundred kilometers wide.

It didn’t look like a lot, considering the scale of things the twins’ group dealt with before they came to the Celestial Plane. However, things are different here, and hundreds of kilometers was truly a huge area for Anchor and Aura Gods. They can’t fly, and even if they were in the Zone God or Law God Realm, they wouldn’t fly anyway. It’s just extremely energy-consuming.

As one can expect, Aura God Realm experts were just a few, no more than three or four at a time, and they were always Initial or at most Middle Stage ones. The vast majority of the watchpost was made of Anchor God Experts.

The Aura Gods didn’t participate in the patrols of the area either. That’s because they were only there as a safety measure in case communication with the mainland was cut before they could warn of new Godly Creature Hordes. They would immediately rush back to the mainland in different directions to increase the likelihood that the information would reach it and reach it as quickly as possible.

That said, the Anchor Gods were the only ones who could deal with any Godly Creatures that entered their areas. Once again, even though this place is at the very end of the Sacred Relic Influence, small groups of Godly Creatures would still try to stay away from it. Usually, they only entered it during horde assaults.

Only in rare cases would these small groups enter the areas and establish themselves there. That was the case right now, and the twins’ mission was to kill the Godly Creatures inside this area. How many were there? They weren’t certain, but there was definitely enough to hinder the patrolling efforts, even cause some deaths.

---

An airship approached from the Southwest, and inside, the twins group could be found. Not only them, though. There were also a few Anchor Gods to replace some that were leaving... and some that died due to the Godly Creatures in the area at the moment.

Once they landed, the twins’ group was brought to the top of the watchpost, which had many pieces of equipment to watch the area.

A burly man with long silver hair came forward, an Aura God. "I’m Woff Plergis, the one in charge of this F17 area. Elder Flantoihy told me about the four of you. The twins can use their Weapon Intents, and so can the Minokawa, while the Cedar is great at energy manipulation. You are all from the same Vinx Great Void and said can work the best together."

The others in the room also looked at the twins’ group, but they didn’t look very happy. One of them couldn’t help but voice his discontent. "Sir, the guys in the mainland are definitely taking these Godly Creatures too lightly. Look at them, even if they can use Weapon Intents, they are only Anchor Gods in the Initial Stage. How much can that change the situation here?"

No one in the twins’ group said anything. In fact, they found the guy’s words very plausible. Weapon Intents were not supposed to be available, so he doesn’t really know how good they are at this level. Roan and the others would have the same doubts in their minds if they were in the guy’s shoes.

Still, Woff couldn’t send them back. "That’s actually even better. If they go out there to fight the Godly Spawns and Godly Beasts and end up dying fast, that will be proof enough for the Sect to send real reinforcements. They won’t have another choice."

Rean couldn’t help but speak. "So... when can we start? We heard that we can keep all the Godly Crystals after the taxes, so we would like to go out there as soon as possible."

Woff and the others found it funny that Rean looked that confident. Nonetheless, it was better than if they were scared. "Very well, take a look at your Ring Communicators."

The twins’ group did as he said, and they saw the map of the area being displayed to them. Since they were responsible for patrolling it, they obviously marked down the areas in F17 where the Godly Creatures were living.

There were several Godly Creature Groups, so they could use their Godly Pressure together to nullify the Relic’s influence. Normally, such small groups would be far from enough to nullify it. However, because they are at the very limit of the Relic’s Influence, those small groups were enough to make it work on their own. The Relic’s influence here was very minimal.

One might think: why not make a watchpost further back? Because if they did, those small groups would gather and make larger groups. With larger groups, they could live even further inside the Relic’s Influence.

Then what happens next? You keep going back and back, and the Godly Creature Groups keep getting larger and larger, moving closer and closer to the mainland. It would never stop until they were at the very doorsteps of the inhabited areas. That couldn’t be allowed, so they had to be taken down here.

Woff spoke from there. "So far, there are twenty-seven groups of Godly Creatures; every single one of them has at least one Godly Beast and several Godly Spawns." Basically, Level Two and Level One creatures, respectively.

Roan took a better look, asking. "What about Godly Predators?"

"We haven’t seen them," Woff answered. "Such Godly Creatures would definitely have been detected by our equipment due to how much Godly Pressure they emit on their own. The mainland would also have sent Aura Gods to deal with them instead of you."

Woff then warned the twins. "This is different from the Horde Assault you participated in. Back there, the Sacred Relic Influence was big enough to weaken the Godly Creatures in those horde numbers, so even Celestial Realm Experts could fight the Godly Spawns."

"Here, Celestial Realm Experts would definitely be trashed by the same Godly Spawns from back there. Godly Beasts will definitely be a big challenge for you, a challenge that I think the mainland should have sent Aura Gods to deal with. The mainland is literally expecting your Intent Weapons to be strong enough for you to jump an entire realm of strength, which I find ridiculous, regardless of whether you are ascenders or not."

"Your deaths would serve as the warning I need for the mainland, but that doesn’t mean I want you to die. Do not overestimate yourselves."

Woff was harsh, but from the looks of it, he wasn’t that bad. "Thank you for the warning, friend. We will not overestimate our abilities."

Later that day, the few experts who were tasked to lead the twins’ group felt like crying. They saw Rean and the others immediately throwing themselves right in the middle of the first Godly Creatures’ Group!

"What the hell are you doing?!"

Rean glanced back at them as he fought. "Not overestimating ourselves, obviously."
