Chapter 4221: That Would Be Me
Chapter 4221: That Would Be Me
The twins’ group knew they wouldn’t get an answer anytime soon, so they simply let the Vruves decide at their own pace. There were plenty of years that they would be staying in Lisan anyway.
Turns out Soul Gem was right about his statements. As the news about the Werdlem Empire’s ’return’ spread, spies jumped into the Werdlem Empire’s territory nonstop, going for all Universes. The Empire’s experts caught thousands to tens of thousands of them pretty much daily. It was a stark contrast to the occasional invader that appeared in intervals of thousands to millions of years before.
Of course, the Empire still had very much control over its territory due to the main reason of all: Anyone who got inside simply couldn’t use the cultivation energies! They were forced to rely on cultivation energy resources if they wanted to do anything. It wasn’t like everyone could get Rean’s bracelets to fool the system, after all. The Werdlem Signature still played its role very well.
But at the same time, quite a few of the Werdlem Empire’s experts began to fly away from it. Who would want to stay bound to the Werdlem Divine Stones? Those at the Divinity Realm and above, especially, began to get out of their Universes.
Those spies that kept appearing also began to spread information about how to get to Universes outside the Werdlem Empire. There were even some Great Void Spaceships from various powers ready to take them away... in exchange for information, other resources, etc. The Werdlem Empire was definitely busy trying to keep its own people in and dealing with all the pests that kept multiplying. The last thing they had time for was to go after the twins’ group.
The Werdlem Empire would not fall. It would suffer for a while, and things would eventually balance themselves. No one would truly attack the Werdlem Empire with everything they had, as the losses would far, far surpass the gains. It simply wasn’t worth it. What everyone was interested in was making sure that the Werdlem Empire truly couldn’t try to take over the Great Void anymore. And they indeed couldn’t after Victor closed the spatial tear.
Another thing that played as Soul Gem predicted was the many, many visitors coming to Lisan Universe.
At first, only Garisan was aware that the twins’ group was the main reason for the Werdlem Empire’s failure. They sent some representatives to meet with Rean, Roan, Celis, and Kentucky.
For this, basically only Rean came out to talk, as the other three weren’t that interested in the talkings. Rean met them outside the Lisan Universe, showing his confidence in his strength. He did not hide his cultivation from those representatives. The fact that he was out was the same as saying they could send any Celestial to fight him with all their strength, that they didn’t need to worry about Rean being a Universe owner since he was outside.
When Garisan sent a Celestial as well, the guy didn’t even bother testing Rean. One look with his Divine Sense, and he knew he was simply no match for the white-haired man in front of him. Rean wasn’t the only one. According to the reports, there were four of them in the same Universe, all seemingly Universe Owners.
Garisan’s attitude to the Lisan Universe shifted once again. Four Balance Breakers, and yes, Garisan definitely knew what a Balance Breaker represented and what they could do. All four are at the Peak Stage of the Celestial Realm.
Things weren’t about Lisan just being a vassal universe anymore. Attacking Lisan was nothing but a pipe dream. They did not have a Celestial Realm Owner before, and now they had four, the strongest type on top of that. The idea of taking Lisan’s Chaos Origin Source just became ridiculous.
Instead, they shifted into acquiring the twins’ group support. For the Garisan Empire, which only had a single Balance Breaker, keeping Lisan Universe on their side would already be a great achievement. Forget about Lisan’s Chaos Origin Source. If they got the twins’ group on their side, that would be worth a lot more than any Chaos Origin Source they could get.
Rean, who negotiated, obviously knew his group’s own value. But then again, it wasn’t like there was a need for them to separate from Garisan. During these thousands of years, while the twins were out, being a vassal universe to the Garisan Empire had indeed accelerated the Lisan Universe’s progress by a lot.
So, Rean accepted staying with Garisan. But in exchange, Lisan Universe’s experts would have a free pass into any of the Garisan Main Universes to look for their Rogue Celestial Laws. If such laws couldn’t be found in any of them, Garisan would help with their connections with other forces of the Great Void.
To Garisan, that was a ridiculously low price for having Rean and the others still as part of Garisan. Of course, Garisan also had its own doubts. They didn’t beat around the bush and asked Rean straight whether he intended to take revenge or try to take a position of power in the Garisan Empire. Maybe even trying to become the central power. That definitely wouldn’t work for Garisan, and they would rather just let Lisan Universe go.
For their excitement, Rean explained they couldn’t care less about who controls Garisan or not. As long as they completely buried any thoughts of causing trouble for the Lisan Universe, they would be fine. Although Garisan wouldn’t say they believed Rean’s statement completely, that was already the best they could get.
And so, the ’vassal universe’ status was kept, but it was also elevated in the Garisan Empire’s own communication system and registries. It put Lisan as one of the top five Universes of the entire Empire, which looked quite funny as it was truly just a Rank F Universe. By the way, Garisan didn’t have a Rank S Universe. They only had a single Rank A one, which was already pretty good.
Then, it came, the overwhelming flood of visits from various other universes that had nothing to do with Garisan. The main reasons for the visits became the same: Know more about the Werdlem Empire, The Echo, Victor, and so on and so forth.
Garisan had a close eye on those ’visits,’ just in case anyone tried anything funny. What stops the twins from suddenly accepting some big offer? Right? Rean had no interest in such things, though.
Then, by the seventh week after their return to the Lisan Universe... Rean received one extra special visit.
"So you are Rean Larks, uh?" A man asked Rean with a leisurely expression. They were outside Lisan, and the man was definitely a Peak Stage Celestial. He was the first who didn’t seem to care about the Werdlem Empire, their strengths, The Echo, the twins’ group, or anything else.
Rean nodded at the man, curious. "As far as I know... yes, that would be me. Do I know you, sir?"
Then, the man threw a Spatial Ring to Rean. "A gift from Victor. Alright, it is delivered. I’m off."
Before Rean could ask anything, the man opened a Spatial Gate and left.
