Death... and me

Chapter 3904: Let’s Start It

Chapter 3904: Let’s Start It

A year passed, and the hype generated by the Martial Gathering slowly disappeared. It didn’t take long for the Surute Region to return to its normal state, as the next Gathering wouldn’t happen for another nine years at least. Besides, the twins’ group and Wisfreya wouldn’t be able to participate anymore since the age of twenty was the limit.

"So that’s where you went wrong," Foliana was with Wisfreya in her room, explaining a few things regarding her bloodline. "You have to understand that even though we have hybrid bloodlines, our original one was still human. That can’t really be called a bloodline if you ask me. Thus, when you push your Luminous Aether Dragon Bloodline power through the meridians, you get this feeling of something not working right. I’ll teach you now how to redirect your Bloodline Power into your meridian walls. This will be a slow process, and it will take many years, but your body will eventually adapt to it."

Ever since Foliana took Wisfreya as her disciple, she had been guiding the dragon girl at every step. It truly paid off to have a teacher with the same kind of constitution, especially an experienced one. Foliana was able to help Wisfreya avoid many mistakes that she had made. Mistakes that even Roan couldn’t have predicted, as he didn’t have a Demon Beast bloodline mixed with his own.

Even though just a year had gone by, Wisfreya’s ability skyrocketed. She was made privy to the existence of the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm, although the existence of the Celestial Soul System was not disclosed. Rean and Roan simply told her that they were born with that ability, and when they got to the Void Tempering Realm and tried to create a Dimensional Realm, they ended up turning into a single Pocket Dimensional Realm for the two of them to use.

They had to do it since Roan was somewhere else. Sure, Roan could go out and use Spatial Gates to quickly pay visits to the Verjansy Country. But that also required avoiding formations with sister orb support and hoping he would never be seen for the various years to come. Instead of taking such a cumbersome route, it was much better to have Wisfreya know about the Dimensional Realm.

Thanks to that, Rean and Foliana often visited Wisfreya, and Rean sent her into the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm. There, Roan worked on a completely new cultivation technique for Wisfreya.

There were two main reasons for Wisfreya’s quick improvement. First, it was indeed to have Foliana as a master. The second was Roan’s Cultivation Technique tailored for her.

Let’s not forget that in this Universe, at least according to the Werdlem Network, there are no Luminous Aether Dragons. Wisfreya’s hybrid bloodline origins remained a pure mystery, even for the Verjansy Country. So, how could the Verjansy Country have a cultivation technique for a hybrid human with that bloodline?

Verjansy Country looked everywhere and ended up buying the best technique they could find to help Wisfreya. Unfortunately, that was still far from optimal. They also tried to create a new one themselves, but without examples to work with, that attempt ended in failure.

Now that these two things were put together, Wisfreya’s cultivation speed soared, and so did her abilities. She was already a Saint Realm Peak Stage at the end of the Gathering, and a single year was enough for her to jump all the way to the Late Stage of the Elemental Transformation Realm.

"So that’s how it is..." Wisfreya took a deep breath after hearing Foliana’s explanation. "Thank you, master!"

Foliana patted her head. "Experience, my little one, that’s all that it is."

*Knock, knock...*

Rean, who had been waiting in the adjacent room, suddenly knocked on the door of the room where the girls were talking. He was allowed to enter, looking at Wisfreya. "Are you ready?"

"Yes," Wisfreya nodded.

He waved his hand, and everyone disappeared.

Inside the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm, Rean prepared a few equipment with Tanxan and Zangeshu’s help while Wisfreya sat on a special chair connected to all of it.

"Okay, just like the last time, relax, and don’t try to fight it. I can always make sure you can recover 100%, but it will take time if the damage gets too high due to your actions," Rean explained the same thing as always.

Wisfreya nodded, and she took a vial of blood, which had a slight silver color, from her Spatial Ring. "I’m ready."

The group quickly worked, and a lot of blood began to flow out from several cuts Rean made. He collected it all, sending it straight to the pool of Pristine Element Liquid. There was already a certain amount of blood there, which received the blood that came from Wisfreya before it was sealed within the pool.

"Good! Take the blood now."

Wisfreya gulped the vial’s contents, and she immediately felt the reaction of her own bloodline. It was excited, absorbing all of that vial’s blood properties into itself. That was Kentucky’s deactivated Celestial Bloodline, which Rean had the Minokawa make specially to help Wisfreya’s own bloodline recover faster.

Why all of this? Obviously, it was because of the System’s Quest: Starlight but no Star.

Wisfreya discovered a method to create Starlight using her own bloodline power and soul. When she showed it to the twins, the system took notice, much like when it recognized the Abyssal beast’s Abyssal path ability. The system sought to acquire this ability from Wisfreya.

For that, it asked the twins to take Wisfreya’s Soul and Bloodline entirely. Simply put, sacrifice Wisfreya to get this new ability. Just a little bit of her blood and a piece of her soul wouldn’t be enough.

Rean would never take that path... at least he wouldn’t if the target didn’t deserve it. Wisfreya, obviously, didn’t do anything that would make Rean select that option. Thus, he came up with an alternative method. The system needs an entire soul and her entire body’s blood for that ability.

What did Rean do? He decided to take a little bit of both over the several decades that would follow. According to his plan, Wisfreya would be under this deal, and in exchange, she would receive everything else they could offer. Training, cultivation technique, resources, you name it. For the twins’ group, this ability to create Starlight Energy was worth it and even more.

Today, Rean took a lot more blood from Wisfreya, and now he would proceed to cut a tiny piece of her soul again.

"Good, the blood extraction is done. Now, this is the first time we will have a piece of your soul cut. Doesn’t matter how small it is; anything that requires messing with the soul is a dangerous affair. That’s why I waited a year before doing it, so I could get a very good look into your soul to make sure I wouldn’t cause any problems."

Wisfreya would be lying if she said she wasn’t nervous, but she accepted nonetheless. "Okay, let’s start it."
