Death... and me

Chapter 3903: Magical Eight

Chapter 3903: Magical Eight

"That’s my girl!" President Bugel couldn’t hold his voice anymore, jumping from his seat and cheering. Everything they have poured into the Martial Gathering paid off. Truth be told, even he didn’t expect Wisfreya’s group to use such a tactic at the end. Bugel was part of the group that designed that last event, and he wanted all the leading teams to drop their Crystal Cores many times. Yet, Wisfreya and her group did hold onto it until the end. How could he not be happy?

He wasn’t the only one. Even though the twins’ group had all been recruited by bigger powers, those transfers would only be made official after the end of the Martial Gathering. At the moment, the Korko Sect, the Enrel City Lord State, the Hazin Clan, and the others were happy that they had some of their own members in that team.

Of course, although the various teams at the end represented different top ten powers, some of them were at least happy that they recruited the members of the twins’ group. Roan and Tanxan were taken by the Amefis Treasure Hall. Kentucky and Zangeshu are going to the Sea Breeze Sect, while Foliana and Rean ended up staying with Wisfreya in Verjansy Country. Celis was the only one alone now, having been recruited by the Pengen Beast Alliance.

How long would they stay there? Not for long, of course. It’s just that no one knew about it yet.

Following the end of the last event, everyone still on the floating island was once again teleported back to the military base, with Wisfreya’s group appearing right above the main building.

Rean and the others saw those leaders in front, making Kentucky a little nervous. ’Rean, aren’t we way too close to them? Will the System Armors be able to hide our Spatial Distortions from their Natural Spatial Perception?’

Rean looked around, not seeing the Divinity Realm woman from the second event. ’That woman was the only one who would be able to see through the armos at this distance, but it seems like she truly left. Most likely, she was here only to make sure the Celestial Convergence Labyrinth treasure wouldn’t be stolen, broken, or misused.’

Kentucky nodded. ’Then that’s good.’

Bugel approached the winners, smiling brightly. He obviously paid more attention to Wisfreya. "Congratulations, everyone. You have overcome all odds and achieved the ultimate prize. You are the winners of the Martial Gathering."

Then, he waved his hand, and ten pale crystals appeared in his hands. Those crystals then floated toward the winners. "As promised, each one of you will receive a Nebula Divine Core. They can only be used once, but they will expand your Dantians and Cores’ Energy Pools. I hope you will live up to the height of these treasures."

Gakrid and Rovitel’s hands trembled as they caught those Nebula Divine Cores. They weren’t idiots. They knew something like that would only bring death to them if they kept it. In fact, even their elders back in their homes would try to take it from them. So, without thinking twice, they immediately initiated the process of absorption right there and then, in front of everyone else.

"Hahaha!" Bugel didn’t mind and understood what those two were thinking. Yet, he was surprised to see the twins’ group didn’t seem to be in such a hurry to absorb the Cores. "Aren’t you going to use them?"

Roan looked at the Core for a moment, then sent it inside the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm. Obviously, those watching simply thought he sent them into his Spatial Ring. "Maybe another time. I will research this thing first to make sure I will make the most of its properties once I do absorb it."

Foliana, Rean, Kentucky, and the others all nodded. They also sent their Cores away, much to everyone’s surprise. Aren’t they afraid of someone targeting them? Of course, that wasn’t their place to speak.

’Hum?’ Rean then noticed something and couldn’t help but find it funny. All around him, the red color of killing intent appeared. It wasn’t that everyone wanted to kill him, but that the Nebula Divine Core was just that appealing. If he truly didn’t use it, there would be no lack of experts coming after him for them. ’Now, that’s a lot funnier.’

Roan noticed the same thing, but didn’t even bother paying attention. Whoever came after him would just die, simple as that. The same went for Foliana and the rest.

Wisfreya, however, also didn’t take her Nebula Divine Core. "Senior Bugel, can you help me absorb it later?"

"But of course!" Bugel nodded with a satisfied expression. The stronger she becomes, the stronger her descendants will be. There was a discussion about giving a Nebula Divine Core to Wisfreya before. However, the country ultimately voted against giving it to her and expected her to win it in the Martial Gathering. That would be one more reason for her to make her dazzling debut even more convincing. Well, in Bugel’s eyes, it definitely worked.

After congratulating the winners, Bugel started his speech for everyone watching. Down below, the festivities began in the city and lasted several days.

As that happened, a new legend also took form in the Werdlem Network of the Surute Region. You couldn’t blame the spectators for doing that. The twins’ group’s display truly caught everyone’s eyes. In fact, even the other big powers of the entire continent now had their eyes on every single member of that group, not only Wisfreya.

As much as the Martial Gathering wasn’t transmitted outside the Surute Region, acquiring the footage of the competition, which was watched by countless spectators, was anything but complicated.

Wisfreya’s group, which separated after the end of the Martial Gathering, would forever be known as the Magical Eight... and the two extras. No one was blind, after all. They knew that those two had more luck than anything else. Sure, Gakrid and Rovitel played a small role in the last event, holding the Crystal Core for a minute each, but it was ultimately the rest of their group that achieved the victory. It was already a miracle they survived at all.

Did Gakrid and Rovitel care about being considered extras? Not a single bit! They got a Nebula Divine Core! They wouldn’t have cared even if they were called ants from now on. They might not have become part of the big geniuses of the continent, but they certainly grew a lot more powerful because of the cores. Many years later, they both would become the leaders back in their homes.

Once the Gathering was officially over, everyone wondered what would happen to the Magical Eight. The official announcements of the recruitments were made shortly after, and it became clear that everyone in Wisfreya’s Group would pursue their own paths.

Little did they know, but it wouldn’t be too long until the Magical Eight would be brought together once more... and, for some unknown reason, so would the two extras...
