Death... and me

Chapter 3813: Not Enough Options

Chapter 3813: Not Enough Options

That was the issue, right? Something like that was bound to be inside a certain someone’s Dimensional Realm? Which someone? Naturally, the Universe Owner himself. As for how they knew that...

-All top one hundred options are in the hands of our Universe Owner, Kunprio. They will be distributed fairly as long as the service time is fulfilled.-

Those were the words at the very bottom, making anyone idiot enough to think about stealing give up in the next instant.

Roan nodded slightly, turning to Sister Orb. "Your next task is to find a way to steal something from someone else’s Dimensional Realm."

[My task, your ass! How the hell do you expect me to take something from someone’s Pocket Dimensional Realm? They have absolute control there, not even the system can overthrow it. And the guy is the Universe Owner and a Celestial Realm Expert too. If you want to kill yourself, just go ahead and do it alone!]

"Tch..." Roan clicked his tongue. "Useless as always."

[I should give you a beating to show you how useless I am.]

Rean ignored that, asking something else. "Sister Orb, aren’t there any other ways to pay for that treasure?"

[Well, there are some secondary options. The best way would be to reduce the time necessary. A hundred million years are for Space-Time Realm Experts. If you are in the Divinity Realm, the necessary time reduces to ten million. It makes sense, right? After all, a Divinity Realm Expert’s service should be more valuable.]

Rean shook his head. "That’s meaningless."

And he was right. A hundred or even ten million years... if they absorbed just the natural Starlight Energy of the surroundings, they would reach the Peak Stage of the Divinity Realm before that. Rean did understand why such a time was required, though. Cultivation in the Space-Time Realm and especially the Divinity Realm is more about laws than energy. The twins’ group was a special case, but it wasn’t anything rare for someone to be stuck in the same realm for even longer than that.

[Yes, I thought you would say so, which leaves us with another option. You won’t like it, and in fact, this option wasn’t even available a few years ago. Take a look.]

Then, Sister Orb opened a few screens for everyone to see.

-Any clues that can lead to the capture of the perpetrators for the destruction of the Light Spreader will be rewarded with one item of their choice from the top one hundred list.-

Were the items at the top of the list important? Sure, and it totally made sense for them to be that time-consuming. But were they more important than the Light Spreaders and the Corrupt System? Absolutely not! Even if you took the entire reward list for yourself, it would still not be worth as much as this Universe’s special traits.

"So... if we give up ourselves, would Kunprio give us the treasure?" Kentucky asked half mockingly.

"How about we have one of us stay far away, within the one light-year range? We pass the information, let one of us be captured, and after receiving the treasure with someone else, the one captured can enter the Dimensional Realm and come out by our side." Celis thought of that option... although he knew it was a ridiculous notion.

Why was it a terrible idea? First of all, Kunprio would not just capture them; he would go straight for the kill and then soul-reading. Of course, he wouldn’t be able to read the soul since the system would protect the twins.

But the problems didn’t stop there. Once he captures one of the twins’ members and notices he can’t read memories, chances are he would bring them somewhere else, which was bound to be much further away than a single light year of distance.

If the soul is still out there and being kept prisoner, the Blood Reformation skill of the system won’t activate either. So, no new body for either Rean or Roan.

How about not letting oneself be captured? That also wouldn’t work. The statement was very clear that only with the successful capture would the reward be paid. Let’s not even talk about explaining how they found out about the culprits.

Last but not least, Kunprio saw how Roan was able to escape from him. The next time he appears, Kunprio would make sure that neither Rean nor Roan would ever be able to enter their Dimensional Realms again. Otherwise, that would be way too dumb.

"So..." Rean sighed, "any other options?"

[Err... not that I can find in the network...]

"Enough." Roan stopped there. "Since it is out of our reach, then we might as well give up on it. We can look for other sources of Starlight Energy once we move to a higher-ranked Universe. There are bound to be greater sources in those Rank B or above. In fact, there might be quite a few good ones in this D33 as well."

Then, he turned to Sister Orb. "Make the post we discussed. We have the Laws Comprehension Pill and would like a slot for the next Main Core Surveillance Team. Don’t state what type of Laws Comprehension Pill, though. Let the buyers contact us first."

[Are you planning to find their identities through this method and actually just capture and beat them?] Sister Orb asked.

"No, I will pay them properly," Roan discarded that idea. "We already have one guy here, and with how serious they are about protecting this corrupt system, it would be too risky to capture someone else, as we can’t be in two places at the same time."

Indeed. Those in this Universe would be sent to different places for different work. If they captured someone else and went to the Main Core while pretending to be that guy, Xanfel obviously wouldn’t be able to take his next assignment. One thing might connect to the other, ultimately bringing the Light Idiots to the twins’ doorsteps.

[Gotcha! I’ll do it now.]

As Sister Orb worked, Rean took the chance to ask. "Do you even have the herbs to make Laws Comprehension Pills? I remember you spent quite a long time gathering the ones last time."

Roan wasn’t worried. "My garden already has quite a good number of usable herbs now. As long as it is a Laws Pill that I know, it shouldn’t be a problem. In the worst case, we can buy the rest of the necessary items. The real secret here is the recipe for the pills, not the materials themselves."

[Done!] Sister Orb spoke. [There are very few trades related to those kinds of pills, so we should get an answ-]

Suddenly, she stopped, surprised. [Well, would you look at that. Xanfel’s inbox is already overflowing with messages.]

Seems like that even in the Werdlem Empire and in a Rank D Universe, a Laws Comprehension Pill was still very attractive.
