Chapter 3736: We Are Leaving
Chapter 3736: We Are Leaving
"A Channel?" Curiosity was piqued. "Channel for what? To where?"
Ploto continued to explain. "That’s the real question, right? We also wish to know. However, Ratria and I believe this is a Channel connected to the outside of the Werdlem Empire. Maybe it is a Channel back to the Lisan Universe. That would be the best for us, as we could finally go back to look for Kentucky... which we don’t need anymore."
Rean remembered something. "The Charybdis Mother once mentioned that we could channel the power of our own Universe, didn’t she?"
Roan and Kentucky nodded. She did say it was possible, but they weren’t anywhere near the necessary level to do such a thing. It was connected to the so-called ’method’ that she said could help them leave this Universe.
"Charybdis Mother?" Ploto, Ratria, and Frife didn’t know what they were talking about. "Are you also planning to open a channel then?"
Roan shook his head in response. "This is just a conjecture. We don’t really know what that beast truly meant with her words. But Rean might be right. The channel of energy or power she was talking about might really be the same type of channel you are trying to open."
Rean then gave the Minokawas a quick explanation of their encounter with the Charybdis Mother so they would understand where they were at the moment. "So, she is this primordial beast, and one of the pillars that sustain the Werdlem Empire’s bubble... or so we heard." Naturally, he didn’t mention the system’s quest to liberate the primordial beasts nor the system itself.
Nonetheless, that stunned the Minokawas. "To think such a Demon Beast exists..."
"Let’s leave it aside," Roan stopped talking about the Charybdis Mother there. "How exactly do you even intend to open this channel? I believe Soul Gem left you the instructions, right?"
"That he did," Ratria confirmed. "For that, we will need to acquire a Universe and a Universe Root Egg. By using the power of the entire Universe, the channel will be established."
"Is this formation here part of this process?" Rean asked, point to the ground below.
"No," Ploto shook his head in response. "This place will be used to take the Ermmel Clan down once we locate the Universe Owner. Even if the Universe Owner surpassed his Expiration Day, he is still a threat, and we can’t really hope to win in a fight against him. Yes, he is likely out of his mind now, but he is strong. All the energy of this land will be used to destroy him."
Roan pondered a bit. This seemed way too good to be true. "Let me guess, Soul Gem also gave you the information about this natural formation and how to use it."
"Yes..." Ratria and Ploto didn’t hide it. "We were sent to this Universe exactly because it would give us the best chance for one of us to become a Universe Owner. We were told of the Universe Owner’s expiration day, and the way to use this natural formation to bring him down."
Ratria then looked at Kentucky, sighing. "But now... I don’t really know if we should carry this plan forward."
"Because I’m already here, right?" Kentucky asked. He knew Ratria and Ploto had agreed to this plan in hopes of returning to Lisan and finding him.
Ploto confirmed. "That’s exactly the case. Ratria and I were thinking to pass this position we found ourselves to another Demon Beast and leave the rest up to them. We are Minokawas, after all. We are too lazy for this shit."
"Don’t put me in the same basket," Ratria complained. "I’ve never been lazy, only you were! ... and the rest of our race. Truly, why was I born in such a disgraceful race?"
Only then did Rean, Roan, and Kentucky remember Jeskli-Go’s story. Back when Kentucky asked Jeskli-Go, one of the Minokawas’ leaders, about his parents, he spoke about that exactly. He told them how Ploto-Ume was the epitome of laziness, while Ratria was a weird female Minokawa who could be called anything except lazy. Even at that moment, he still didn’t know how the two ended up falling for each other, as Ratria and Ploto were the pole opposites. The number of times Ratria gave Ploto a beating couldn’t be counted.
"Seems like they are still as Jeskli-Go said they were," Kentucky commented.
Rean and Roan couldn’t agree more.
"So you met Jeskli-go!" Ploto’s eyes lit up. He and the guy were quite good friends. "How is he?"
"He is fine," Kentucky nodded. "Lazy as ever, of course."
"That’s my buddy!" Ploto seemed happy to hear that.
As for Ratria, she wanted even less to go back now. "You guys are unbelievable..."
Rean smiled and then patted Kentucky’s back. "We still want to go back to our Universe, though. Our families are there, including Kentucky’s fiancé."
Kentucky almost vomited blood.
"Oh!" Ratria and Ploto quickly looked at Kentucky. "So you also met Lily-Yu! How was that? She was great, right? She is older than you, but she is definitely a great partner!"
Kentucky wanted to cry already. "Like hell I’m taking someone like her as my partner!" Kentucky definitely hasn’t forgotten how he and Lily were pretty much like water and oil. They simply couldn’t stand each other.
"Yeap, they are made for each other, just like you and I, honey," Ploto nodded.
"I don’t know if this is a good or bad thing, though," she glared at Ploto. She still hates that lazy side of his.
Rean struck the iron while it was hot. "Well, if Kentucky doesn’t make it back, they will never meet again, right? We might as well carry this channel plan of Soul Gem’s and see if it is a way to go back to Lisan."
Roan had his doubts but nodded. "What exactly do you still need?"
Ploto and Ratria weren’t very convinced they should continue, but it is also true that they were the ones who started this war on the Demon Beasts’ behalf. "Sigh... this war has just barely begun. No more than a few hundred years have passed, so it definitely won’t end anytime soon, let alone see one side being declared as the winner by the Werdlem Empire. At the moment, what we need is time to accumulate more energy, and for that, there are still tens of thousands of years to go."
Roan instantly gave up that plan. "Alright, we are leaving."
