Chapter 3719: Don’t Ask
Chapter 3719: Don’t Ask
Rean and Kentucky looked at each other, confused. They didn’t hear the details of their negotiation as it happened through Divine Sense, but it didn’t seem like what they had expected. They thought Taliana wanted some kind of monetary payment.
Taliana didn’t have anything else to discuss, so she decided to leave. "Good. In that case, I’m going back."
Reliance intended to do the same. "I’m also leaving. We will get in contact with you if we need something. You can do the same through the channels I told you. Don’t worry, they are secure, and even if they are caught, it won’t have any impact on us."
"That’s good to hear." Taliana then turned around, preparing to leave until...
*Slap*
*Arrgh!*
She received one more slap on the butt. "YOU! Why did you do that?"
Rean faintly smiled. "I told you, didn’t I? If you tried to do something, you’d better have your butt prepared. Even if it was just a ’test,’ the punishment was still the same."
Taliana was furious, and the pain on her butt was even stronger this time. Rean truly did a very good job, leaving the five red fingers printed there. They definitely wouldn’t disappear for a while.
"By the way," Rean didn’t finish. "When you said you wanted my life because of the humiliation, you were lying. What was the real reason behind it?"
Taliana was taken aback, but with the pain in her butt, she wasn’t very much in the mood to explain. Anger was still at the top of her mind. "Hmph! Believe whatever you like." With a hateful expression, Taliana finally opened a Spatial Gate and left.
Kentucky looked at Rean. "I hope Qia doesn’t find out you have been slapping other women’s butts. Besides, I don’t remember you being this kind of pervert."
Rean shrugged. "You got the wrong idea. What I want is for her to hate me, and that was absolutely the best way, to look like a pervert."
Reliance understood. "So you basically are redirecting her anger towards you rather than the Demon Beasts."
"Yeap," Rean nodded. "She will still think the Demon Beasts are part of the reason for her pain since this meeting happened with the Demon Beasts. But if I focus most of her anger on me, there won’t be much there for the Demon Beasts. Well, at least I hope so. Revealing her identity is definitely at the top of her list of things she wants to deal with."
Rean then changed the topic. "Alright, you got your information or whatever. What do you intend to do now? Wanna come with us to the Demon Beasts’ Territory?"
"No," Reliance shook his head in response. "I still have other things to do and cities to visit. I won’t tell you want my objectives are, but know that it is for the sake of the Demon Beasts’ Victory."
Kentucky finally decided to ask. "I know you are helping them because Ploto and Ratria need it to return to Lisan. However, is it really okay to have the humanoid races displaced from their position as the controlling power? Or Ermmel Clan, to be more specific."
"There is no need to worry about that," Reliance said with confidence. "You probably haven’t checked it yet. If you get some time, look into the network about how the Ermmel Clan treated the other powers of this Universe. Not only them, but also the humanoid races as a whole had a very poor reputation, since they were backed by the Clan."
"Guess this is the norm," Rean commented. "Once at the top, you won’t care much for the other races. That’s what you would usually expect."
Reliance couldn’t agree more. "Exactly. I’m not sure if the Demon Beasts will be any better, but they usually care more about personal strength than hidden plots. I guess it at least won’t be any worse."
Kentucky had to admit it was true. "Now that I think about it, the Camazotz Bats from F956 and the Supreme Palace weren’t all that bad. They almost never interacted with the Divine Realm, the Heavens, the Underworld, or the Mortal Realm. They weren’t exactly very liked either, of course."
"Hehe!" Reliance laughed a little. "Have you ever seen an absolute dominant power being liked by everyone? I definitely haven’t."
"Reliance," Rean decided to change the topic. "Before we go our separate ways, how exactly did you get here? All you said was that Soul Gem was responsible."
"And I wasn’t kidding," Reliance sighed. "I only met him once, and that was when he sent me to this Werdlem Empire. He truly only told me I would have a role to play, and I had no say in what happened next."
Reliance then explained what had happened during the initial years he had been here.
His start wasn’t much different from the twins. Turns out that the body he is using now isn’t the same one from back then.... Well, not exactly. He woke up in a capsule, although he was just a baby in there. In the twins’ case, they had the bodies of young teenagers.
The difference was that Reliance got to this place many years earlier than the twins’ group did. And that also explained why his cultivation was at the same level as the twins, even though he wasn’t as fast.
Still, he grew up to look exactly the same as he did in Lisan Universe. And after his cultivation grew enough for him to be able to feel his own aura, he confirmed that his DNA was definitely used to make this new body. Only his soul was the same as the one back then. It was a good thing since the soul matched the body perfectly.
"I wasn’t the only one to wake up there, though," Reliance continued. "Two demon beasts had also woken up in that hidden chamber in the middle of nowhere, Puorton-Le and Vavalia-Hek. Well, you called them Ratria-Ket and Ploto-Ume. It’s just that their awakening happened many, many years before mine."
’Ratria and Ploto had already been gone for a long time when we found Kentucky, after all,’ Roan’s words echoed from within the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm. He was also hearing the conversation. ’It makes sense they were already in the Divinity Realm if you consider the time and resources.’
In any case, Ratria and Ploto made sure that the location where they were ’reborn’ was completely hidden and left a means to be warned if someone ever appeared there once they got the conditions. When they finally got that warning, they flew there as fast as they could, but all they found was Reliance waking up in one of the capsules. "It was quite weird. They said that the capsules didn’t have anyone else when they left. As for me, even as a baby, I had my own soul and memories, so I was able to talk to them after a little while, and we found out we came from the same Universe against our will."
"So everyone who appears in the Werdlem Empire has to cultivate all over again," Rean observed.
"I believe so," Reliance nodded. "Puorto- I mean, Ratria and Ploto were already in the Divinity Realm when they found me, but they confirmed they, too, arrived in this Universe with no cultivation whatsoever. Of course, they had the experience, so it was a lot easier to cultivate, especially since the conditions in the Werdlem Empire are so, so, so much better than Lisan. It isn’t even a competition. Just the access to information was already a huge boost."
"That’s true..." Rean and Kentucky agreed, and so did Roan in the Dimensional Realm.
"Anyway," Reliance continued. "From there onwards, I acquired my Werdlem Stone, cultivated with the Demon Beasts, and ultimately came to the humanoid territories after the war started so I could help. I won’t waste your time talking about everything that happened in between since it isn’t really necessary."
"What about your Demon Beasts?" Kentucky was still curious. Reliance always moved everywhere with his Demon Beasts. He was more than just a Beast Tamer; he and his Demon Beasts back then truly cared about each other. There was no such thing as a contract or pacts going on with those five. They lived together of their own volition.
Reliance went silent for a moment. "I don’t know..."
"Sorry." Kentucky apologized and didn’t ask anymore. Obviously, the Demon Beasts weren’t brought with him.
