Death... and me

Chapter 3716: No Way Out

Chapter 3716: No Way Out

"Friends," the attendant didn’t look very happy with how Taliana was acting, but he also noticed Rean had some blame in there. "I will have to call security if you continue with this. If you wish to fight, please do so outside the city. We are at war, and this is not the time to cause trouble."

Taliana then saw several experts approaching, the store’s security, one of them even in the Elemental Space Realm Initial Stage. Of course, such a level wouldn’t be a threat to Taliana at all, but since she was hiding her cultivation, she couldn’t show her real power. She looked at Rean, who continued to smile, and then let him go. "Don’t think this is over."

Rean nodded. "I’m sure it isn’t." Then, he turned to the attendant. "Sorry for the commotion. I’m mostly to blame here. To make up for it, please get me another two sets of Elemental Distortion Talismans, friend."

The attendant’s mood immediately improved, and seeing that Taliana didn’t seem to want to start a fight anymore, he waved his hand, making the security return to their positions. "That’s very thoughtful of you, friend. Here are the sets."

Rean paid for them and began to make his way out. Taliana, obviously, followed him closely. Since Rean knows her identity, she might also know what Rean was doing here.

Yet, the moment Rean turned a corner, he disappeared from Taliana’s Divine Sense. She noticed the Spatial Entrance of a Dimensional Realm, but that entrance disappeared just as fast. She ran to where Rean had disappeared, and despite her shock, she couldn’t figure out how Rean had done that.

Back in the restaurant, Rean came out of the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm by Kentucky’s side. He also used his Divine Sense Bensing Skill, making it impossible for Taliana to find him there.𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

Kentucky laughed at that. "Hahaha! You really scared the little girl."

"Little girl?" Rean shrugged. "She is in the Space-Time Realm, just like us. Chances are she is many times older than us, Kentucky."

"Well, that’s true," Kentucky knew that their cultivation speed was ridiculously fast, after all.

Reliance watched all of that with his Divine Sense, and he was still impressed with what he saw. Naturally, he contacted Rean through Divine Sense as soon as he reappeared in the restaurant. ’You found out her identity?’

Rean nodded. ’Yes. I made her angry, so she grabbed me herself and even let a little of her own power escape at that moment. Usually, I would need more time, but thanks to that, I managed to analyze her Werdlem Stone Energy much faster. It is the kind of mistake that someone without experience usually commits. Well, it is to be expected that someone with her background never has to hide at all. Her name is Taliana Ermmel. Believe it or not, she is part of the Ermmel Clan herself. Well, at least that’s what her ID says.’

Reliance took a deep breath. He didn’t understand how Rean found it so easy.

Well, the method was quite simple. After acquiring the Werdlem Energy Signature, Sister Orb applied it inside the Dimensional Realm and tried to access the Werdlem Network with that signature. From there, she just had to look into the user’s personal information. It was truly Taliana’s fault for letting her anger take over so easily, which made Rean’s work so much easier and faster than usual. Rean was actually planning to bother her for another ten minutes at least.

Reliance saw a message from Rean on his own CD, which included Taliana’s number. He could call her any time he wanted now. Of course, that also meant Taliana would know about Reliance’s identity, which he had been hiding. ’It will be better to meet her without her finding out who I am.’

’Do you want me to send her a message for you two to meet?’ Rean asked, ready to use one of his fake IDs to do the job. Let’s not forget the Ermmel Clan still had access to most options over the Werdlem Network of this Universe, including identifying specific IDs and such. A fake ID from Rean would be the best choice.

Reliance pondered a bit, still watching Taliana with his Divine Sense. She seemed to have given up her plan to sell information and was already making her way to the teleport buildings in the Formations Guild. Well, that was to be expected after what just happened. ’Please, do so.’

Taliana had barely arrived at the Formations Guild when suddenly, her CD activated. She immediately noticed a number she had never seen, narrowing her eyes. Should she answer it? However, since the other side knew her identity, she decided to do so. "Are you that fucker?"

-Such a cold thing to say... Didn’t we just become friends a few minutes earlier?- Rean asked back, having a lot of fun there.

"You piece of shit!" Taliana cursed Rean. She made a mental note to immediately look into who the number’s owner was once she returned to the clan.

-Are you sure you want to treat me like that?- Rean asked, not really minding her anger. -I mean, I might let it slip that a certain female cultivator called Taliana Ermmel was intending to sell information to the Demon Beasts.-

"I don’t know what you are talking about," Taliana said, a chill running through her spine.

-Is that so? Alright then, let’s end this call here and see what the clan will think about it instead.- Rean finished his words, but he didn’t have time to cancel the call, though.

"Wait!" Taliana couldn’t risk it. She wasn’t supposed to be here in the first place. She knew that if an investigation took place, she would most likely be caught, even if she hadn’t sold any information yet. "What do you want?"

-Let’s meet outside the city. Don’t worry, I will still pay for the information you have. After our deal is done, we won’t ever see each other again.-

Taliana wondered if it was a trap, but she didn’t have much choice anymore. "Alright, pass me the location."

A few hours later, several thousand kilometers from the city, Taliana landed by a lakeside, looking around with a dark expression and ready to fight.

She then noticed someone approaching. Well, actually, it was three experts. One of them was in the Middle Stage of the Space-Time Realm, while the other two were only in the Void Tempering Realm. They were Reliance, with his cultivation released, while Rean and Kentucky still pretended to be low-level guys.
