Death... and me

Chapter 3715: Would You Believe Me?

Chapter 3715: Would You Believe Me?

’This...’ Reliance was obviously surprised to hear that. ’How did you know?’

It wasn’t really a big deal for Roan to find the spy. As mentioned several times, he had seen so many different plots and spies in his time as a Death Spirit that it would actually be weird if he couldn’t identify them. Of course, as long as he knew what he was looking for. He wouldn’t spend every second of his life looking for suspects everywhere.

There is also the fact that Reliance said they were supposed to meet since a few days ago. Roan was pretty sure that this spy hadn’t revealed herself out of fear of being caught in some trap or such.

’It doesn’t matter,’ Roan didn’t explain all that, though. ’You can try to capture her or something. It’s up to you.’

’Wait!’ Rean had an idea, quickly getting up. ’Reliance, stay here and spend your time eating or whatever. Just don’t move. I’m going out. Kentucky, you stay too.’

’Alright!’ Kentucky immediately spread his Divine Sense, focusing on the female expert two blocks away. No one was paying much attention to Kentucky, although he attracted a few glances. Demon Beasts in humanoid form became quite rare after the war started, but it didn’t mean they were absolutely prohibited in the cities or anything.

After all, there were plenty of Demon Beasts areas inside all regions of the Divine Realm. The same could be said for the other races inside the Demon Beasts’ Territories. They just weren’t as plentiful as the ones controlling those regions.

Back to the situation at hand, there were Divine Senses absolutely everywhere in a big city, so the female spy wouldn’t notice anyone in particular. She was actually confident that no one had found her.

Rean walked out of the restaurant and took flight. He didn’t go straight to the place where the woman was, though. First, he completely left her Divine Sense Range, found some random corner, and entered the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm for a moment. Once he came out, he once again had a different appearance and cultivation.

Rean wasn’t an idiot. He knew the woman probably took notice of everyone in that restaurant. If he had gone after her, she would have noticed even if she wasn’t certain Rean was coming for her. Anyone in their right mind wouldn’t risk it; they would leave straight away.

Rean made a few rounds here and there, eventually reaching the place where the woman was watching Reliance. It was a store for talismans, and there were quite a lot of experts in there. Nothing out of the norm with this war going on.

The woman was pretending to look for protection talismans, and an attendant was helping her, offering several choices. Rean got there as well, stopping by her side. "I’m sorry, friend. Are these talismans good against Void Tempering Realm experts?"

The attendant smiled brightly. In fact, he was getting a little bored with the woman since she seemed to never decide what she wanted. "But of course! I recommend the Elemental Distortion Talisman for long-range Elemental attacks. It makes the Elemental Energies around you go chaotic in a range of up to ten meters. Anyone using their Divine Energy and Sense to control an Elemental Attack inside that area will find it a lot more difficult to do so. Once activated, it lasts three seconds, which is a lot of time for experts at your level. It also affects Void Tempering Realm Experts, like you asked. I can make a deal for you, three talismans for just twenty Rank Four Divine Stones."

At the moment, Rean had his cultivation suppressed to the Middle Stage of the Void Tempering Realm, which was actually the same for the woman on his side. Too bad she didn’t expect Rean’s Divine Sense to actually be as powerful as a Peak Stage Divinity Realm Expert due to his soul, so her attempt to hide her cultivation was meaningless to him. Even if that didn’t work, he could easily discern someone’s cultivation with his Divine Sense Bending Skill, too.

Rean pondered a bit and nodded. "Good! Give me six of those."

Rean looked genuinely satisfied with the price, and the attendant even more so to sell two sets of three talismans. Rean paid as if nothing was happening, and then began to look at the other talismans. But then, he looked at the woman. She obviously noticed when he arrived, but after he paid for the talismans, she disregarded him.

"Are you also looking for something to protect yourself in the war? Oh, I’m Galagan, by the way," Rean spoke with a smile, extending his hand. "I will be dispatched to the Third Line in the Riffisu Country at the border in two weeks. Where are you going, friend?"

The woman narrowed her eyes. "Go bother someone else."

"Eh..." Rean seemed disappointed, looking at the attendant. "Did I say something wrong?"

The attendant bitterly smiled. "This friend is just finding it difficult to select a talisman to protect herself." Well, he just wanted her to leave already since it seemed like he could sell more talismans to Rean.

"I see..." Rean nodded. "Here, take these." Then, he forcefully put three of his Elemental Distortion Talismans in the woman’s hand.

The woman was taken aback, and she almost released her cultivation to kill Rean right there and then. Of course, she didn’t do it since she didn’t want to attract attention. "Let go!"

Rean did as she asked, ’feeling’ hurt. "You didn’t really need to look that disgusted, you know? We are all in the same boat. I have used these talismans before. Believe me, they can come quite in hand."

The woman was getting more annoyed, especially since it was obviously that Rean was courting her right there and then. Naturally, how could she pay any attention to a puny Void Tempering Realm expert? "I don’t need your trash."

Rean smiled in response. "I truly love strong women who stand for themselves. Say, how about we go on a date after this? I’ll show you there is really no need to be afraid of me. I’m obviously strong, and you wouldn’t go wrong relying on someone like me. In fact, that might be a huge opportunity for you."

She finally snapped out, grabbing Rean by the collar. She didn’t release her cultivation, but she was still much strong than any Void Tempering Realm expert with it suppressed. "You must be asking to die."𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

Rean didn’t seem the least bit worried, grabbing her wrist, the same one that was holding him. "What if I tell you I know death himself, would you believe me, Taliana?"

Taliana’s eyes opened wide, and a foreboding feeling rushed through her mind. How does he know her name?!
