"What should we do?" Kana leaned closer to Natsuo. She was a little tense, feeling both scared and excited at the same time. If she aimed her gun from this angle and shot at her, would she be able to kill the Parasite?

"Hmm, this is troublesome." Natsuo was feeling troubled right now. If he were to use magic, he would inevitably hit the man, and the aim of the two of them wasn't good enough for them to be sure that, if they used a gun, they would hit the Parasite instead of the man, especially with him hugging her like that.

"Lecherous man," Kana muttered when she saw him reaching for the Parasite's breasts.

She also knew that things were troublesome. If they ran down the building, it would take too much time, and that man would probably be long dead by then. Furthermore, even if they managed to kill the Parasite and save him, he would see their faces, which would be even more troublesome. After all, they weren't like Chelsea, who could easily change her appearance.

She narrowed her eyes and said hesitantly, "Why not just let him die?"

Instead of risking both of their lives, they should make use of this man to kill the Parasite. They could wait for the Parasite to start eating him and then kill it. Anyway, the chances of them saving that man were low, and furthermore, it wasn't worth the risk at all.

"I have a way. I'll create an opportunity for you, and you kill it," Natsuo whispered. Then he hurriedly began chanting a spell as he moved away from her before jumping directly from the roof!

"W-what?! Wait!" Kana was horrified when she saw him jump from the building. They were on the fifth floor! She wanted to stop him, but it was already too late.

Jumping from a building took a lot of courage for a normal person, but this actually wasn't the first time Natsuo had tried something like this. As he watched the ground rapidly grow larger in his vision, he quietly chanted the spell. When he was less than two meters from the ground, a burst of wind blew up from beneath him, propelling him upward and negating the impact.

"Scum! Stop right there!" Natsuo stumbled forward two steps, then pointed at the two people in the alley and shouted.

"Who?!" The drunk man was startled. He looked at Natsuo and exclaimed fearfully. Why was this kid here, interrupting his fun?

On the other hand, the female Parasite's face already had lines running across it. She was just about to kill her prey when Natsuo interrupted her. Without turning her face away, her eyes moved unnaturally as she gazed at Natsuo. Then, without hesitation, her head split apart into multiple tentacles lined with sharp, steel like teeth and swallowed the man's upper body.

The unsuspecting man was still gazing at Natsuo. By the time he realized what had happened, he was already dead. His head and shoulders had been swallowed by the female Parasite.

"Damn it!" Natsuo cursed. The reason he had bothered appearing in front of this female Parasite was to save the drunk man. He hadn't expected the female Parasite to ignore him and kill the man right away.

The female Parasite moved away from the dead corpse and slowly walked toward Natsuo. The tentacles that made up her head lengthened, swaying in the air. "Another human. Strange, why aren't you afraid?"

Normally, a human would be scared shitless after seeing such a scene, but this young human seemed rather calm.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Just then, Kana, standing on the roof, aimed her gun at the Parasite and fired. She had specifically fitted the gun with a silencer to reduce the sound of the gunshots. She hurriedly pulled the trigger, firing bullet after bullet until the magazine was empty.

Because this was her first time, and she was stressed, her hands were a bit shaky. So despite the advantage of shooting from above at a target directly below her, many of the bullets missed. Still, she managed to hit the female Parasite. Six bullets struck her head, while three more hit other parts of her body. The remaining eight missed completely.

"Agh! Ahhh! Curse you, Second Amendment!" The Parasite wiggled several times violently. She looked up and saw Kana aiming her gun at her. She cursed helplessly before collapsing to the ground, dead like a dried up squid.

Natsuo glanced at the two corpses, then hurried away from the alley. The commotion was bound to attract people. He walked around, taking a detour, and returned to the main street. When he got there, he saw people gathering around the alley, panicking.

He took out his phone and made a call. As soon as he did, he heard a phone ringing nearby. He looked over and saw Kana standing not far away. He hurried toward her and tapped her on the shoulder.

"Ah! It's you! You scared me!" Kana jumped like a startled rabbit, then patted her chest in relief.

"Let's go." Natsuo took her hand and told her, "The police will be here soon to investigate. It's better not to remain around any longer than necessary."

Fortunately, Kana had brought the Grim Reaper clothes with her, so they hadn't left any clues behind. Even if they had, Chelsea would clean up after them anyway.

"How do you feel?" As they walked, Natsuo patted her back and asked.

"Uncomfortable... I'm a bit scared." Kana was faintly trembling. She grabbed Natsuo's arm and leaned against him. She looked around and asked, "I killed a person! T-the police won't come after me, right?"

She was feeling terrible. Her stomach felt as if it were turning upside down, and her skin was crawling. Earlier, because she had been worried about Natsuo, she had fired without thinking. She had kept pressing the trigger until she had emptied the entire magazine, but now that she had calmed down, she began to panic.

"You didn't kill a person. It's a monster." Natsuo looked around and put his arm around her shoulders. He spoke in a gentle tone he rarely ever used with her, which surprised her. "Everything is going to be alright. You did a good thing. You should be proud. Don't be so afraid."

"Hmm, thank you, Natsuo." Kana gave him a grateful look and whispered in a low voice.

Usually, he always acted like a total jerk around her. This time, he was actually trying to comfort her. As expected of the person who fucked his two stepsisters, he was a natural!

Kana thought to herself.

"I heard that having a Coke is good in this kind of situation. Want some?" Natsuo pointed at a vending machine and said. If he had actually heard what she was thinking, he probably would have smacked her in the head.

"A Coke? Alright." Kana didn't feel like eating or drinking anything, but she couldn't bring herself to turn down his kindness like this. It was very rare for him to be this considerate, so it would be a waste to simply turn him down.

Burp!

The two of them found a random seat nearby and sat down. Kana then emptied the entire bottle of Coke and let out a loud burp. Heat immediately rushed to her face, turning it bright red. When she looked at Natsuo, he was shaking as he tried to suppress his laughter.

She immediately punched him on the shoulder. "Damn you! What are you laughing at?!"

"I am not laughing. Pff, hahaha! Alright, maybe I am." Natsuo tried to keep a straight face, but he couldn't help but burst into laughter again. He raised his hands to stop her raining fists and asked, "Do you feel better now?"

He hadn't given her the Coke just to troll her. Whenever he felt nervous or stressed, drinking Coke and burping made him feel as if he had just expelled all the tension from his body, leaving him feeling relaxed.

"Maybe." Kana glanced at the can of Coke and replied.

"It's getting late. Let's go back." Natsuo patted her head and stood up.

Kana lowered her head for a moment before standing up and quietly following him.

"Thanks," she whispered in a low voice.

...

In a dark room, the only source of light came from the multiple screens hanging on the walls, illuminating the faces of the people gathered there.

They all stared at the screens with dead, emotionless eyes. The man sitting in the front turned his chair and addressed the people behind him, "Another one of us is dead. This is the 46th case."

The screens showed two different locations from various angles. One was an alley where two people lay dead. The other was a parking lot, where a person with a dried up head was lying on the ground.

These images had come from the police investigation files. The Parasites had somehow managed to get their hands on them. Both cases had happened just a few hours ago.

"They are clearly hunting us. One of us is helping them find us. We have to retaliate!" one of the Parasites replied, glaring at the screen.

Not long ago, they had sensed each other and started gathering into a group to protect themselves. Their leader was a politician and the mayor of East Fukuyama City. He had been helping them secure perfect places for their hunts without getting caught, places they called "Restaurants."

The female Parasite who had been killed by Kana and Natsuo was someone who couldn't control herself and had hunted in a non hunting area, so she deserved to die. But the man who had died in the parking lot had been inside one of the "Restaurants."

Over the past few weeks, many of them had been killed every day. Worse, their corpses had all ended up in the hands of the police, which meant that the government now had even more samples to analyze and develop ways to find them. They might even develop weapons specifically designed to kill them, such as drugs or viruses.

"Is it them!" At this time, a pregnant woman standing at the far end of the room spoke. Her skin was pale, and her long black hair cascaded down to her waist. She was a beautiful woman. Unfortunately, her eyes were deader than a dead fish.
