Chapter 1910 Ascension Realm Tower (4)
Chapter 1910 Ascension Realm Tower (4)
Taking the teleportation formation, Xuan Hao soon enough found himself back on the ground floor of the tower again and looking around, it was clear that the place had remained completely unchanged from when he had first stepped inside the tower, something he had already seen during his earlier experimentation with the teleportation formation. So, he wasn't exactly taken aback by the unchanged interior of the reception part of the ground floor.
But the reception area wasn't exactly what he expected to see changes in. Instead, the two rooms beside it was what he truly felt curious about, as he had yet to visit any of them since beginning his ascent of the tower a few hours earlier.
And so, after a quick glance around the reception area and ignoring the presence of several people still waiting just outside the entrance to the tower, Xuan Hao made his way in the direction of the room that was filled with countless empty scrolls. Part of him feeling like it might be some kind of hall of fame of sorts that recorded the progress of those who ascended the tower.
Stepping inside what he had already deemed to be a hall of fame of sorts for the tower, it didn't take long for him to notice that a few of the empty scrolls that took center stage inside the relatively large room did indeed function as he had first guessed. One scroll displayed the number of obtained ascension coins, another for number of floors cleared, another for tasks completed and so on. All unique in their own way and even more notably, a majority of the scrolls were still empty. Meaning that there were clearly still aspects of the tower that he had yet to explore.
Understandable, considering the highest floor he had completed so far was only the eighth floor comparable to the Nascent Soul Realm.
The one thing that caught him somewhat off guard was the realization that he had somehow gained some control over the hall of fame. Allowing him to essentially erase his own name from the hall of fame, something he did without a second thought. Not because he wanted to avoid standing out or anything along that line, but more so because it would seem rather odd for him to take on what was essentially a challenge, he himself had created.
After all, to the rest of the elders of the sect, the tower had been created by him and allowing this misunderstanding to continue would help him avoid having to potentially explain where the tower had come from.
To avoid this potential trouble and not knowing if the system would allow him to create other similar things in the future, Xuan Hao decided on the spot to avoid sharing that he wasn't the creator of the tower and let the elders of the sect make their own conclusions…
Having erased his own presence inside the hall of fame. Returning it to its former blank state, Xuan Hao didn't linger around inside the rather empty room any longer before making his way over to the final room. Arguably the room he was most excited to see given it should be the place for him to use the ascension coins he had obtained so far.
Soon enough, finding himself inside the room designated as the shop from what he could tell… And indeed, after just a single look around the room, he saw several items had appeared inside the shop, all exchangeable for ascension coins.
Among the things that could be bought, there were not just things like spirit stones and different common cultivation resources, but also a few slightly rarer cultivation resources, unique cultivation techniques and interesting combat techniques. Everything was great for a Core Formation Realm cultivator and somewhat useful to someone who had broken through to the Nascent Soul Realm, but for someone like himself, there wasn't exactly anything useful inside the shop.
The only reason why he didn't feel disappointed by this sight being because he clearly remembered that the introduction to the tower had clearly stated that more items would be unlocked the higher someone managed to reach. Meaning that when he cleared the Domain Lord Realm part of the tower that would be up next, things useful to someone in the Domain Lord Realm would show up… And maybe even something unique that was useful to someone beyond the Domain Lord Realm.
No matter what, he fully intended to see just how far up this tower went and if he could reach the top of it with his current strength, as for the different cultivation resources and other things for sale inside the shopping area… He didn't really bother with them, as they wouldn't be that useful to him, nor would they be of any use to his disciples.
As for the rest of the sect's disciples and elders… They would always be able to ascend the tower on their own and earn these cultivation resources. Not just because it would be entertaining to watch them suffer for a bit, but also because the combat inside the tower would be a precious experience for when they would inevitably face someone in battle outside the sect.
After all, the most important feature of the tower was that death inside it didn't matter- or more accurately, you would instantly be forced out before dying, something Xuan Hao himself had already tested by trying to launch a deadly attack at himself.
To say the safety features of the tower were powerful would be an understatement, as even with his current strength and mastery of the Dao of Space, he was essentially rendered helpless in the face of the tower and didn't even realize he had been forced out before finding himself at the ground floor with one of the hundreds teleportation formations inside the reception area beneath his feet.
The attack he had launched towards himself having already been dissolved into thin air by some mysterious power in the process, as he instead just ended up hitting himself in the face. The shock of what had just happened rendering him momentarily unable to stop his hand in time.
So… At least for now, he felt certain that the tower would be able to ensure the safety of the different elders and disciples who decided to challenge it.
The only thing left for him to do was properly introduce the tower and its functions to the rest of the sect, a rather simple matter considering it had already attracted quite a bit of attention over the past few hours.
But then again… Who wouldn't be curious when such a tall and mysterious tower suddenly emerged out of seemingly nowhere? If anything, he had to thank Elder Song for the hard work of ensuring that no one snuck inside the tower to check it out on their own.
Because of this, he also ended up deciding to help Elder Song with one of the problems he had asked him to help with if possible. The problem in question being that there were limited ways for some of the wealthier disciples to spend their contribution points and he wanted these disciples to have some way to use their contribution points, as it almost seemed like they were just taking on sect missions and earning contribution points for the sole purpose of growing the number of contribution points to their name.
After all, the sect token couldn't just help identify a disciple or elders, but also functioned as the artifact that stored information about their contribution points. Meaning these wealthier disciples decided to show off through the sheer quantity of contribution points in their possession, some even starting to compete amongst each other over who had the most contribution points.
In a sense, the hall of fame would be able to help deal with these stubborn disciples unwilling to spend any of their contribution points to improve themselves, as they would now have a much clearer way to show off in front of their peers. Be it through tasks completed or ascension coins collected.
Outside of just this, to ensure that some contribution points were removed from the sect's internal circulation, he also decided to set up an entrance fee similar to the Dao Enlightenment Monument. Only much cheaper, as the tower known as the ascension realm would undoubtedly be used on a far more daily basis compared to the Dao Enlightenment Monument that essentially served as a long-term goal for both elders and disciples alike to work towards.
Everything in order, Xuan Hao left behind the shop area and stepped back into the reception area before making his way over towards the entrance of the tower where he could already sense several familiar people waiting. Not just Elder Song, but even a few of his disciples had shown up to join in on the fun, as by the time he finally stepped outside again, he was met with the lively scene of elders and disciples chatting amongst each other while pointing up at the towering tower that was the ascension realm tower.
