Creepy Pharmacist: All my patients are scary!
Chapter 822: How to Evade Hell's Gaze!
Meanwhile, back in Nightfall City.
Inside a large conference room, immediately after Lynn had left, Sir Aiwen had intercepted several other Roots and pulled them here, convening the first secret meeting.
"So, does anyone have any good ideas?"
Sir Aiwen sat gravely in his chair, pen in hand, lifting his head to look at the silver-haired girl seated across from him with her eyes closed, then sweeping his gaze over the Titan family nearby.
He scribbled something on the paper, saying seriously:
"According to his theory, he genuinely doesn't care about the gaze hell might cast upon him, but that doesn't mean we can simply ignore the impact hell could have on him. He hasn't experienced hell's beatings the way we have, and his understanding of the torment and backlash he might face isn't deep enough. This isn't something we should gamble on."
Just like this time with his redemption of that quill.
Even though his intentions were good.
He was still just a mortal after all. One careless mistake could genuinely kill him, and that was absolutely not something they wanted to see.
That was why he had called this meeting.Colossus's Brain slowly opened her silver pupils, arms crossed, and said, "If what he says is true, and there are only three days left, then I suggest we tie him up when the time comes, throw him into my Mental Space, and have the rest of us join forces to shield him from hell's gaze."
"If we include that Angel, that makes five and a half Ancient Gods. We should have a chance of helping him survive the backlash."
Little One extended her tongue and licked her teeth.
Indicating that she was the half.
Titan Head grinned, his abyss-like mouth stretching wide, chaotic light flickering in his eyes as he snarled:
"Your aura feels familiar. Now I remember. You're part of that Colossus who used to come looking for fights with me in the Upper World, aren't you? But from the looks of it, you haven't experienced the horror of this hell yet. If it truly decides to suppress you, don't think that even with all of us working together, or even at our prime, we'd gain any advantage against this hell. Heh heh heh."
This wasn't deliberate mockery on his part.
Because if anyone here had received the most attention from hell, if he ranked second, no one would dare claim first.
Every time he went mad, he would try to assault this hell.
And every single time, that curse would viciously drag him back down and whip him, leaving scar after scar on his body. This torment was even more dreadful and intense than what he had suffered when being humiliated.
With just the few of them.
There was absolutely no way they could obstruct any decision hell made!
Sir Aiwen's brows furrowed deeply, his fingers tapping restlessly against the table, clearly showing his unease about the situation.
Seeing that no one was speaking, Titan Head said with malicious, manic glee, "But I do approve of the idea of tying up my son-in-law first. He's too reckless. Not having experienced hell's beatings is one thing, and him casually flirting with abnormal creatures that look like little girls is another. Regardless of which aspect we're talking about, I think we should temporarily restrict his movements until we figure out a solution."
These words were clearly loaded with implication.
Colossus's Brain, who had been sitting there with her eyes closed, suddenly exploded with surges of bloody energy radiating from her body.
"That's right, I wholeheartedly agree with that as well. However, I believe that before we do that, we should first keep him away from certain heads that carry too much curse. Those head-type wastes have long been accustomed to hell's targeting. If they stick around, they might trigger the backlash prematurely. So I suggest we expel them first, especially the biggest one, who should receive special attention."
Hummm—
Two utterly terrifying auras, one yellow and one red, instantly began rumbling against each other in opposition within this small conference room.
Though their words seemed courteous.
The gunpowder was already clearly about to explode.
Titan Head clicked his terrifying eyes, licking them dangerously as he said, "What do you mean by head-type wastes?"
The silver-haired girl turned her gaze coldly and asked, "And what do you mean by abnormal creatures that look like little girls?"
Crackle crackle crackle—
The point where their amiable gazes met seemed to erupt with sparks like electric currents.
Seeing that this meeting seemed about to devolve into an all-out brawl, Sir Aiwen felt a throbbing headache coming on. He quickly stood up to mediate:
"Gentlemen, I think we should first discuss the solution to this problem. Regardless of past grudges, we're all in hell now. Let's set aside what can be set aside. This isn't the time for internal strife. What do you two think?"
"..."
The two Roots' gazes continued to crackle with terrifying electric sparks.
As if they hadn't heard him at all.
Neither paid him any mind.
Sir Aiwen: "..."
If there was such a thing as awkwardness, then the position he currently occupied was undoubtedly the most awkward of all. It was like two ultra-aggressive crime lords forced together into a team by shared interests. They might give you some face on normal days, but once a conflict arose, unless you were strong enough to command respect from both sides, they simply wouldn't care about you at all!
They wouldn't give you even an ounce of face!
He let out a sigh, shaking his head with a wry smile.
And this highlighted the importance of team management skills. Though he was no slouch himself, his status was what it was.
At times like this, it truly demonstrated the importance of having a central pillar.
Like right now.
Without that fellow Lynn around, even a simple meeting could escalate into a large-scale brawl at any moment.
If there were even more Roots present, wouldn't the whole place blow up?
He took a deep breath and could only knock on the table, shaking his head as he said, "If the two of you want to fight, there's no hurry after this meeting ends. But before that, I happen to have thought of a method that might allow Lynn to evade hell's gaze. I'm just not sure if it's feasible."
The moment those words were spoken.
Both Colossus's Brain and Titan Head turned their gazes toward him simultaneously.
Seeing that the method of diverting their attention had worked, he held up the document in his hand, lifted his head, their reflections mirrored in his pupils, and said:
"Everything the two of you said has merit. But indeed, if hell comes at us for real, with our current strength, there's no way we can directly confront hell's gaze. In fact, doing so might even amplify hell's backlash and make things worse."
"But I was thinking."
"Since we can't confront it head-on, is there perhaps a way to make him avoid hell's gaze altogether?"
