Contract Marriage: Enemies With Benefits
Chapter 62: Have them dead
’Pak’
Kira’s face whipped to the side by the impact of the slap. Her eyes turned rage with red, "How dare you slap me, you filthy bitch!"
"The cameras aren’t working, who saw me slapping you? Miss Kira, people like me who grew up in the streets might not be noble but we know how to deal with filth like you," Linda towered over Kira as she coldly enunciated each word.
Kira gulped, "You... Fine!" She retreated a few steps, "Fine! Now, you can dream on about ever stepping your foot in Qing Grand. Oh, after the stint you have pulled, you can’t even crawl back to Qing Horizons."
Linda stiffened.
"What? Did you think Sienna hadn’t seen through your little tricks? She had known it all along and pretended to walk into my trap!" Once she said her piece, Kira had no interested in lingering around anymore.
Once she was gone, Linda dropped to her knees on the floor, ’It’s for the best. How could I ever face myself if such a heinous thing happened to Miss Qing because of me...’
The soft clicks of a heel echoed in the empty hallway and a pair of red heels entered Linda’s view. As Linda looked up, she found Sienna standing in front of her, "Miss Qing, you heard everything..."
Sienna didn’t say a word.
"I will resign...’’
"Did I say you could?"
Linda looked at her in shock, "Miss Qing, you mean..."
"Things will be different from before, Linda. If you can endure it, then show up to work tomorrow as usual or else I can recommend you to some smaller branches of Qing Empires."
Linda was shocked. Once she recovered her senses, she kept thanking Sienna profusely telling her that she didn’t need any recommendation. She was fine doing anything as long as she worked for Sienna.
It was already past 9 pm by the time Sienna walked out of the restaurant. She could feel a mildly persistent throbbing in her head.
Just as she prepared to book a cab, it clicked in her mind that Callahan had asked her to give him a call after work so he can pick her up.
’Forget it, this restaurant is even further away from Qing Horizons. I will just take a cab...’ She was about to look at her phone when her gaze accidentally drifted to the dark part of the street, a few metres ahead.
A black maybach was parked on the side of the road. Sienna threw her phone inside her bag and walked over to the car.
The moment she settled inside the car, she felt a chill in the air. Even the usually chatty Leon seemed unusually silent.
Sienna stole a peek at Callahan but the man was busy reading something on his iPad, "Why are you here? How did you know... that I was here?" she asked the man.
"Coincidence."
Callahan did not even lift his head as he dropped that one word reply right on her face.
In the driver’s seat, Leon seemed to have choked on air as he coughed violently.
Sienna blinked speechlessly, ’How can a sane person coincidentally show up at the other end of the city, and be coincidentally present at the same place as me?’
"If not for me holding him back, he was ready to barge in there today," Leon spoke up.
Sienna was stunned when those words registered in her mind. She looked at Callahan, "You... were there earlier?"
Callahan turned to her, a rare flash of anger brimming in his gaze, "What were you thinking?"
"Are you... worried about me?" Her lips parted.
The man’s jaw clenched, then unclenched. Not a single word came out of his mouth.
"Fine, fine, I will stop joking. The only reason I went along with it was because I already had everything under control," Sienna said.
Callahan did not respond.
Sienna sighed, "I knew I could handle it so I didn’t hesitate to use myself as the bait...’’ her voice got smaller and smaller towards the end when his gaze turned colder with every word that came out of her mouth.
She readied herself for the poisonous words that were definitely about to come out of his mouth.
A minute passed. Then two.
Callahan pursed his lips and looked away from her, not uttering a single word.
All of a sudden, he felt a warmth enveloping him as Sienna leaned towards him. Delicate fingers reached towards his face and gently caressed the spot between his brows.
"Say what you want to say. If you keep frowning like this, you might just become an old man in no time," Sienna smoothened his frown, secretly stealing a few glances of his handsome face, "It would be such a pity..."
Her words trailed off when the man grabbed her wrist, "Never again. Do you understand?"
Sienna’s mind blanked out for a moment. She nodded once, instinctively.
Callahan took in the sight of her, examing her from head to toe, "In the future, tell me who is bothering you. Alright?"
Those words were domineering but the way he uttered them was exceedingly gentle, such that it sounded like a plea.
"What will you do then?" She asked for some reason.
"I will have them dead.’’
Sienna’s gaze shifted to his face, her eyes locking with the pair of dark blue eyes. For a moment, silence lingered between them.
The familiar playful smirk returned to that stunning face, making her scoff, "Funny," Sienna tugged her hand out of his grip and returned to her seat.
Silence returned to the car again and it was Leon who spoke up this time, "I am curious. What exactly did you do?"
Sienna rubbed the nape of her neck, "Well, I..."
Earlier.
"What’s the rush, beauty? Didn’t you come here for my money?! Just spend the night with me and tell me how much you need," the man laughed.
Without sparing him a word, Sienna turned to leave. But she had barely taken a step when the man grabbed her wrist and yanked her backwards.
Sienna skipped a step and raised her foot, aiming her heel straight at the man’s crotch. In one swift move, she tackled him under the top piece of her heel, "Move an inch, and your business is not all that you will lose today."
"You... you... What..."
