Chapter 1180: Chapter 618: Extra: The Wife-Snatching Incident
Keith Antony was taken aback, having never seen Claud Laurence lose his mind, nor seen any conflict between Claud Laurence and Chester Robinson before.
Claud Laurence stared at Chester Robinson as if gaze hardened by animosity, speaking coldly, "It was you who tried every means to push Alice Robinson away, and it was you who hurt her cruelly and heartlessly until she was utterly devastated. Now that she was finally able to let go of the past and choose me, are you trying to ruin the relationship we’ve finally managed to build?"
Chester Robinson’s expression was stern, and he did not answer.
Claud Laurence laughed coldly, "Chester Robinson, is this how you treat friends? You hurt her heartlessly in the past, you didn’t want her, and now you still come to entangle her for what reason?"
"I didn’t do it." Chester Robinson turned and walked towards the room.
Claud Laurence’s cold gaze was like two swords aimed at Chester Robinson, "Really? Spending a night together at the hotel doesn’t count?"
Chester Robinson’s proud silhouette paused briefly and halted his steps, "She should have explained it to you."
"She keeps herself clean, I naturally know there won’t be the slightest connection between the two of you. What I can’t accept is why you tried every means to lure her to Germany to meet you? Do you think I don’t know it was you who intentionally incited the German government to include wine sponsorship for this year’s beer festival to bring Alice Robinson to Germany?"
Keith Antony listened quietly from the side, lowering his head.
Chester Robinson looked ahead without expression, speaking blandly, "If I were truly that despicable a person, I wouldn’t have let her go a year ago when I learned you two were together... since you promised me you’d be good to her for a lifetime, then don’t let her cry anymore. I swear, if I see her cry for you again, I will do whatever it takes to walk from your side to hers!"
In the hotel suite’s study, Alice Robinson sat behind the desk and said, "Andie, tell everyone the promotional plan was done great, everyone has worked hard, and once we return to Paris, I’ll definitely commend everyone..."
"Miss Robinson, we didn’t find making the promotional plan hard at all; what was difficult for you was always worrying about securing the sponsorship, but..." Andie winked at Alice Robinson, "Miss Robinson’s hardships are felt by someone deeply, our General Laurence, who has always silently protected Miss Robinson from monster harassment like a mighty Ultraman!"
Alice Robinson smiled lightly, sinking into a moment of contemplation, before snapping back to reality and saying, "Stop talking about it, it’s quite late, go have your meal!"
"Okay, Miss Robinson, would you like to join us?"
"No need, I am not very hungry. If I get hungry, I’ll call the hotel to send food."
"Alright."
Andie turned to leave, suddenly exclaiming, "General Laurence?"
Sitting in the chair, Alice Robinson looked up towards the door.
Claud Laurence walked into the room and nodded at Andie.
Andie stared at Claud Laurence in a starstruck manner, saying excitedly, "General Laurence, so you’re here? When did you get here? You..."
Andie couldn’t hide the joy of seeing Claud Laurence, but upon recognizing that Claud Laurence’s gaze remained fixed on Alice Robinson behind the desk, Andie’s voice gradually diminished until it disappeared.
Claud Laurence walked over to the desk and looked at Alice Robinson.
Alice Robinson also stood up, meeting Claud Laurence’s dark eyes.
Andie wisely began to lighten his steps, quietly leaving the room and closing the door behind them.
At this moment, Alice Robinson walked from behind the desk to Claud Laurence, and initiated the conversation, "Claud..." Her voice was somewhat hoarse.
Claud Laurence gazed deeply at Alice Robinson, his dark eyes brimming with emotion.
Facing his silence, Alice Robinson chuckled to dispel the awkwardness, "I called you many times and you didn’t answer... I thought you were angry with me."
"Were you crying?" Claud Laurence’s voice was husky.
"I... I wasn’t, I..." Unable to feign indifference, Alice Robinson lowered her head.
Claud Laurence reached out to caress Alice Robinson’s fair, delicate face. He seemed to still feel the cold remnants of tears on her cheek.
"I’m sorry."
His remorseful voice echoed above her, and she slowly looked up at him, "The person who should say sorry is me..." Alice Robinson placed her hand over Claud Laurence’s hand on her face, gently holding it, "It’s me who didn’t consider your feelings, thinking I knew best regardless of everything, as your girlfriend, I shouldn’t have concealed meeting Chester Robinson in Germany."
Claud Laurence gently pulled Alice Robinson into his embrace, "I wish to take back the words I said to you this morning... I’m sorry, Alice."
